Los Tacos Lokos

This place has been here for a while and it has allot of potential! My first experience was a client had purchased us some tacos and took a order from us and when he came back, mannnnnnn the flavor, quality and presentation was definitely there and had to ask him again before I left, where was this location! Tucked away off Kendall and university right by wing stop and GameStop there's a neatly decorated facility called Los Tacos. You really can't see the inside but the outside gives it a nice outside lunch experience. I finally went inside and saw the space! Not only that but they do have TVs and have the games on. Again this place has lots of potential. I don't know if it's just advertising or just not enough word of mouth but the food is good! Just missing agua fresca! But check the photos out and see for yourself . Definitely give it a go!

I cannot even find all the words to explain the amount of disappointment I had in this burrito and since I had checked Yelp and did not find a comparison I feel I have to expose this and save someone else. First let's talk price - this burrito comes in just shy of $18. $18 is steep but with the economy being what it is I'm willing to roll the dice and pray the food is decent. This my friends was not it.Burrito was almost as flat as a pancake. The smallest chunks of meat were inside (maybe 1oz worth if I'm being generous). There was maybe a sliver of beans and cheese? Mostly this burrito was rice and again, so thin that not that much of that either. The actual chile???? Where was it???? Also so small it was like a side note. This burrito was so thin and lacking in ingredients that it should have been $8 dollars at most. So my question is, is this the norm or were they just running out of ingredients tonight? Positives I will give this place - tortilla for the burrito was fresh and delicious - just enough of a crisp on it too. The red and green salsa were both fire. They had a heat to them that you don't find much anymore. Overall - I'd come back for a taco since they are small and open faced but Never ever ever ever a burrito.

Disappointed:I ordered the Buche Burrito without beans, and yup, there was beans. That's not the worst part of the Burrito... where the Buche? The Burrito was 85% rice and beans. I literally spent $13.00+ of beans and rice Burrito. Never again i will come here. The buche was at one end of the Burrito.Service was decent. I don't know if it's a new owner but the experience was not great as before. Ambiance is still the same. Big-open space. Other than that, the only good food was the tacos. The elote in the cup was watered down. I had elote in the cup before and I never had it where it was soupy. (WARNING: DON'T ORDER IT!) The sauce or salsas was terrible. It is not the same as before. The red sauce used to be spicy but not anymore. The green salsa is not great either. Both salsa taste like from a jar. It's not "homemade".I will not be coming around anytime soon. Very disappointed. I used to tell ppl to come here for good tacos but now, I rather go to the taco trucks.

Let me just say food is great but if you'd like to have lunch here I'd really recommend ordering it the day before and then following up the morning of and then an hour before you arrive. Basically they take forever. Every. Single. Time. Every time I come I have to debate whether or not it's worth the wait. Sometimes it is sometimes it's not.

Very unfortunate because I feel this place has so much potential. Through their covered windows and doors I was hit with a surprising array of white and red dining tables, paint and art decor. I noticed it was roomier than expected and a lot cleaner. Looks like this place isn't made for Mexican food and looks like they want to be a sports bar. Besides it looking a bit confused, ordering was straight to the point. This is the kind of place you come in, place your order and someone brings it out to you. Menu was easy to understand and they had a decent number of items. We ordered 4 quesabirrias, a pollo burrito, a lengua taco, and the asada animal fries. Along with two sodas and total was over $60. A little pricier than I imagined but I'm always willing to pay if the food is worth it. We came during a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't that busy. Meaning we got to choose nice seats. They brought out green and red sauce in squeeze bottles. Our food came out on styrofoam plates that were already wilting from the heat of the food. If you need utensils or more napkins, got to go ask the cashier. Quesabirrias: lacking flavor, doesn't come with consomé, overly all very oily which made the tortilla super moist but too overpowered by the oily mess. Good thing is that the meat was tender. Overall a 3/5. Pollo burrito: got it with cilantro and onions, refreshing but the refried beans weren't great. The chopped chicken tasted like it was close to becoming chicken jerky. Dry and not fresh. Covered with squeezed lime and red/green sauce, it was decent but could have been so much yummier. Overall a 2/5. Lengua taco: the serving of a taco was a little disappointing, wish it had a little bit more meat but all good. The lengua was very tender but wish it was seasoned a bit more. Overall 3/5. Asada animal fries: the asada meat on this dish was decent. Wasn't as dry as the chicken. But the fries seem to be baked vs fried. The edges are like a stale crispy whereas the inside was super soft and mushy. The cheese ratio was good. Unfortunately onions were barely grilled not giving it much aroma and didn't enhanced the meal. Though out of the whole order this dish was my favorite. Overall a 3.5/5. It was interesting because we were told at checkout if we leave a Yelp Review we can get 20% off our order...but how do you leave a review when you haven't even tried the food yet? I don't know. Restroom has newer soap dispensers/towel dispenser but can use some work as the cleanliness in there doesn't match the cleanliness in the dinning room.

Food was amazing and service was friendly. Clean place, and fair prices. The red salsa is delicious. We really needed a good taco place in the area.

Disappointment, Order 2 burritos, 10 tacos, and 2 sopes and they only gave me 4 salsa. Food and salsa is extremely salty and not edible. Won't recommend this place unless your chasing salty food.

Really tasty and clean flavors. The meat was quality. I plan to be back. Inside was clean and comfortable. Happy to have a good taco spot by CSUSB.

I got 4 tacos: 2 asada, 1 buche, 1 cabeza; was going to get lengua but they ran out. The buche was delicious & flavorful, but the asada & cabeza was a bit salty for my tasting. They had a good variety of meat & kinds of food to get. I wish they had more agua frescas flavors, only horchata & jamaica. The restaurant is very spacious & has a lot of seatings. Though, I noticed some of the flooring area were bulging up which can be hazardous if someone trips. There are other things I want to try on the menu so I would come back as it is very convenient to where I work.

Good tacos at an affordable price for college students. The service was quick and the food came out warm.
