I really wanted to love this place but the prices are outrageous. We ended up leaving with nothing. They want 15 bucks for a bowl and 26 bucks for a plate. Then they have a 2 person meal for almost 50 bucks.I can go to an all you can eat Korean for that price.I'm giving them a 3 star because they are friendly.

The food is really tasty! Honestly the best kimchi I've had in a long time. I ordered the Galbi Papa Bowl! It did not disappoint. The portion sizes are way bigger than I thought they were gonna be. The whole bowl could last someone two-three meals worth! I ordered this through Grubhub but I can wait to come back in person. I think my only complaint would be that the galbi was a little smaller than I expected but I can't complain too much because the other the bulgogi really made up for it and was flavorful! Can I just say that their vegetables are super delicious! When I saw the veggie mix, I was shocked by that it also included beets and mushrooms, I was curious and skeptical but to my surprise, it made me enjoy the vegetables even more...they were delicious. I don't know what seasonings they used but it was too good. The dumping was a nice touch as well. I'm so happy to say I have a Korean spot in the IE that I don't have to sit in a Smokey kbbq grillling meats when I can just get Korean food here

When I first drove in and parked, I wasn't sure the propped open doors was the front entrance. The place kind of looks like a church hall, where you'd go to eat lunch after service. It was pretty barren inside except for some framed pictures on the wall and a few chairs. It did smell great though, like they were burning some incense. After placing my order, it took about 15 minutes before it was ready. I have no issue with that, but if I was in a hurry I'd probably order ahead and pick up.Ordered the Papa bowl #1 with Galbi (bone-in beef, like flanken ribs). The bowl comes with rice, lightly cooked fresh vegetables (carrots, zucchini, broccoli) that still has a little crunch, but not raw. Also comes with a side of kimchi and japchae (Korean thin noodle made from sweet potato). It also came with two fried dumplings, but when I asked if it was pork she said it did have pork inside and she opted to give me an extra scoop of japchae instead, which I was excited about.Loved the beef, it was so tender and marinated and seasoned well. The marinade has a slight sweetness to it that goes great with the meat. Wish they drizzled some of the marinade or had an accompanying sauce to go with it, because the bowl was very dry and had no sauce. Even adding the kimchi was not enough. The japchae turned out to be just noodles, sautéed in sesame oil and sprinkled with sesame seeds. It didn't have much flavor other than the sesame oil. I have had japchae in other restaurants and they usually have vegetables and are seasoned well. Other than that, it was a nice accompaniment.Overall, I thought the meat was delicious and you can tell that they really take pride in their meat. The chicken looked really tasty and I'll come back to try that next time. Also the Mama plates come with some of the Korean side dishes that the Papa bowl doesn't come with so that would also be great to try out.The lady who took my order, Kelly, was very kind and sweet. She gave me and another lady waiting for our food some grand opening gifts: a beautiful scarf and a couple of packaged face masks.

DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS SPOT!!Very authentic Korean food and the people who run this are so adorable. They are incredibly sweet and hospitable. I just wish I found this place sooner. The food hits the spot. We ordered the Deluxe and it does not miss. Everything is freshly prepared and the flavors are phenomenal. I just wish they had places like this in SGV. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area.

i was excited to try this place based on the reviews but i was a bit underwhelmed by my experience.Finding the place was not difficult, the place looks ok, iits adjacent to a residential area. Inside there is a good sized sitting area which can probably potentially serve dine in but Its a "to go" only restaurant. Food was underwhelming. I ordered the mama meal so I can taste their banchan sides. The meal I chose was supposed to have the kalbi and bulgogi meats, but unfortunately I was notified after ordering pand paying that they only had kalbi so i said ok they can double the kalbi. When I got my food, I was pleased with the presentation but the meat quantity was disappointing, it looked like I only received a portion of meat, not two. Food taste was average, a bit under seasoned. The kalbi was not tender, at all. The japchae noodles were overcooked and again, not seasoned. The kimchi was also disappointing. I paid almost $25 (with a drink) for this meal and I wished I should have just went to my go to AYCE korean bbq place. The only saving grace for me was the service. I was served complementary hot green tea while I was waiting for my food. Otherwise, I would rate a star less. I hope the owner is paying attention.

This place is definitely a hidden gem-- from the service to the food, I cannot recommend it enough. To start, the owner was such a sweetheart! She really made me want to come back before I even tried the food. Plus, I called ahead, but it only took 10 minutes for my food to be ready. Which is crazy, considering how good the food is! Onto the food. We got the deluxe box and, oh my goodness, when she handed us the box I was blown away. The pictures don't do it justice, it's a great portion for the price. It was absolutely delicious-- the bolgogi is very very good in particular. We'll definitely be back!

An unforgettable dinning experience! This is a hidden gem of authentic homemade Korean food! It reminds me of my grandma's cooking, with love and care.We were traveling by, not noticing that K-Mama BBQ offers takeout only. However the lady who helped us to order was so gracious to let us dine in, surrounded by the serene ambience. She was very patient with me during my ordering. It was a little confusing as we thought we needed to choose three kinds of meat. I suggested that they name the two choices as combo #1 and combo #2. The owner told me that she will have a new menu. I also learned about the family story from the owner. They are wonderful, loving people who serve the community following the golden rule.I wish everyone works at and visits K-Mama BBQ health, joy, love, and peace! We will definitely come back.

We were on the way home from Snow Valley and wanted to get food right off of the mountain, so we came across K-Mama on Apple Maps. We decided to check it out since the reviews were fantastic and we were not disappointed. We tried the chicken and beef bowls, and the crispy shrimp. We also tried all of their homemade sauces (the spicy mayo was our favorite). All of the food was made to order within 10 minutes and tasted so fresh and flavorful. The bowls were actually really large for $10 ($10.50 if you pay credit card). It was a to-go only spot but had a little seating area for waiting. Overall, it'll be our new post-snowboarding food spot.
