We've only been here a couple of times so far, but the orange peel "chicken" and broccoli had us coming back as soon as possible! I wish they weren't so far away, we'd be there more often!!

It was good but pricey. I got 4 entree's to go and payed $60 The orange chicken was the main selling point I went. I saw pictures of a mushroom orange chicken and I ordered it but I'm not sure if that's what they gave me. The beef and chicken both looked the same, as shown in photo. The only difference was the chicken was a little crispy. I wanted to try it here because it's vegan but when I order from the usual Chinese place I pay about the same, if not a little less. And it actually has shrimp/chicken. I liked the food, but I didn't even get fortune cookies If ur Vegan, this place is good to try out. But the Vegan corner is so much better in Grand Terrace

Happy Family serves wonderful food-- I come here often for delicious and vegan-friendly meals. It's pretty quaint inside, a little old, so sitting next to the walls can feel a little uncomfortable (they look dirty). But it's a good place for a quick, casual meal. Most the dishes are really good; I especially liked the sweet and sour soy chicken on my latest visit, which tasted pretty much exactly like Hong Kong-style pork ribs (but cruelty-free!). On the other hand, I didn't like the Singapore noodle very much. It came out looking rather pale, and my first impression of it was proven right-- It definitely lacked flavor.

walking in on Sunday around 2pm, and no one there is happy, including us as we should have turned around and found someplace much better. Happy Family Vegetarian has a nice menu with pictures of some of items numerous (i.e., too many) items. We tried three of them and all we could think of was, we've had so much better! The wontons were bad, just bad quality ingredients and poorly made. The two other dishes had the worst quality vegetarian substitute I've ever had, leaving a bitter aftertaste.

Happy Family Vegetarian is a vegetarian Asian Restaurant close to Loma Linda University. As a part of a blue zone, the ingredients are fresh and the food is served family style. I went with a group of my colleagues and there was a wide variety of delicious dishes to select from. We tried the spring rolls, crispy mushroom house chicken, king pao soy chicken, fried rice, and dry sautéed green beans. All the food was seasoned well, reasonably priced, and the wait staff did a good job watching when our lazy susan was getting empty. I'd try this place once with a big group looking for a casual lunch spot conducive to dish sharing.

A first try for me, the second for my wife. We ordered to go; mushroom sesame chicken, beef pepper steak, orange peel chicken nuggets, and a vegetable dish as well as brown and steamed rice. Crunchy noodles too! All vegetarian dishes. With veggie and vegan food like this, you don't even miss the meats! Although every dish looked pretty much the same. Very friendly service too.

Very nice sit-down ambience. Very attentive and helpful service. Excellent food! Vegetarian beef & veggies, made gluten-free with a white sauce, was wonderfully tasty. I especially loved the Veg chicken & veggies with curry sauce, which even included some potatoes. The natural curry spice level was probably about a 2, but I loved it - and I'm usually a "0" on the spicy scale. Here's something important, and I'm delighted to be able to say it: The emphasis was flavor, and not spicy-hot for hotness sake! Rice wasn't included, which seemed a little unusual for curry, but a side was only 99¢, and the brown rice was perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed a moderately priced Arnold Palmer. NOTE: They close weekdays from 3:00-5:00 pm. NICE TOUCH: The menu has a lot of pictures of the items, which pleased our visual learners. This restaurant was a 'happy' find! Can't wait to go back!

Always fast, delicious, and a huge menu to choose from. The service is kind, helpful, and thorough. Inside, there's room for smaller parties and big ones! It's essentially one big room, but have always felt like there could be many people there but still feel like you're the ones there. Hats off to the chef. Enjoy it every time I'm in town!

Happy Family is a true gem for veggie friends in the IE! It's my go to dinner for flavorful and authentic homestyle dishes. I've been here multiple times both during the afternoon and dinner time, and have been seated immediately with no wait time. The restaurant is spacious and clean, though not exactly hip or trendy looking. Food comes out with a very short wait time (15-30 minutes) considering everything is cooked to order. The menu boasts vegan and vegetarian options ranging from crispy fried appetizers to warming braised dishes to hearty noodle and rice dishes. I love the taste of veggies, so imitation meat tasting "real" is not a concern for me, but most of the imitation meat here does a wonderful job of it regardless. The imitation seafood in particular mimics the flaky texture of fish perfectly, umami oceanic flavor and all. The little crunchy sesame fish remind me of my childhood favorite anchovy snacks, and make a wonderful appetizer for a bigger group to share. The taro ribs are my personal favorite. They are deep fried taro pieces tossed in a sweet sauce. These don't taste like meat at all (making them a great option for those who dislike meat and imitation meat) but are so addicting and delicious. The mushroom chicken is similar in that way but both dishes have a distinct taste and texture, so ordering both together makes for such a fun and unique experience.Forewarning that dishes can be very oily, so I request less oil (though I'm not positive it makes much of a difference). Five stars overall, and definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the area.

Beautiful interior with traditional decor. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the food is delicious! Affordable and great quality, my sister and I are so excited to have found a vegan Asian kitchen and will definitely be returning. We both got the soy chicken with orange sauce and white rice and it was delicious. They do have vegan jerky and even handmade floral tea inside for sale as well.
