I've visited Hangar 18 in Riverside a few times this month and I'm really impressed by the interesting and beautiful design of this Climbing Cave! My Besties Chris and Austin love to climb at this Specific Location and I can see why! It is so open, colorfully stimulating, packed with a lot of proactively fun and responsible Guardians, and decorated with cute and comfy Beanbags as well as stunning Banners of Exotic Rocks waiting to be scaled from around the world. I like the Holiday decorations too and the resting couches in different rooms to encourage Gym Members to make friends or spark new Romances or Bromances within the Sitcom haha!Hangar seems to be doing an excellent job training the Gym Members to follow responsible and courteous Protocol while giving them open Freedom to express themselves in an Authentically Bold and Comfortable way! I loved watching all the Climbers stretch, warm up, climb, rest, and play amongst each other while confidently rocking Statement Mullets, Mustaches, Snoopy Hats, and Kirby PJs ;0)As an Observer I wasn't expecting to have as much fun but the Front Desk Guardians still helped keep me happily stimulated by playing some of my Favorite Throwback Muse Songs and letting other Members show us their Favorite Dance Gavin Dance jams too!! I also liked how Jared and the other Front Desk Jefe are friendly and intelligently sharp when it comes to sharing their Professional New Years Resolutions with me as well as giving me interesting ideas on how to gift dunk on a Climber for the Holidays ;0) Keep up the Fabulous Work and thank you for providing the Community a fun place to let out our pent up aggression in a healthy and constructive way while having fun and stealing new Philosophically inspiring ideas as we play!

My daughter and son in law were in town and wanted to Top rope as well as boulder so we tried the Riverside location of Hangar 18. I'm a regular at the orange location but it only offers bouldering. Good staff, very helpful getting us belay checkouts and explaining the layout of the facility and the routes available to climb. We had a great couple of hours climbing and enjoying some new sends.

Quite possibly the worst travel climbing gym experience I've ever had. I climb 3-5x a week in Colorado, participate in climbing league and climbing outside most of my summer. It took over 30mins between their waivers and ridiculous 15mins video to even be allowed to put shoes on. Then without asking how experienced I am or anything asks if I remember how to fall correctly and makes me do a beginner bouldering fall test, which he told me was incorrect because I didn't fully tuck my chin the way they want. I asked for my money back and left. Worst vibe at a climbing gym I've ever seen. Will never go to or recommend another Hangar18 gym.

How friendly the staff are and the prices of membership are something that no other gym can compare to. Really a gym that creates as much access to climbing as they can. Great setting -- very creative routes. Very hot in there though -- no a/c in the main climbing area.

This is a fun branch and has a lot of amenities. I like the layout and how often routes are refreshed. I joined to get back into climbing after taking a ten year break. Erik and Jared are the workers I see the most. Eric taught me the auto belays and Jared took me through the top roping course. Both showed professionalism and were instructive when certifying. It was even fun to see Erik jumping in and hanging around with the other climbers after his shift. Overall friendly environment and would recommend to anyone.

It's smaller than some other gyms I've been to, but for the low price it's a very good gym. There's no yoga classes offered unlike other gyms, but there are auto belays for top-roping solo. There's regular top-roping, bouldering, and a regular little gym upstairs. It smells like feet sometimes, and it gets hot in the summer sometimes, but the price is worth it.

First, Hanger 18 is a gym (so don't be like me and dress cute). This gym is pretty big and offers bouldering and power rope climbing. I'm trying to get back into shape and thought I'd try climbing... I went for a month and primarily stayed in the kiddie's terrain. I strongly encourage you to watch videos if you've never done this before (to learn how to use equipment and prepare yourself for your life workout). I'm not a fan of heights and have zero upper body strength, yet I had the raddest time at Hanger 18. The staff is super helpful and two hours goes by super quick here.

Really great climbing gym, and one of the bigger ones offered by Hangar 18.Have been to Hangar 18 gyms in Arcadia, Upland, and Long Beach, and while each have their specific strengths and idiosyncrasies, this is generally ranks near the top. It has both good climbing walls and bouldering areas, clean bathrooms, changing areas, and great, helpful staff.Had to come here on a few occasions since the closer LA and SB counties' locations were still shut down due to COVID, and came when reservations were required, numbers were limited, masks required, etc.The only reason this doesn't get 5/5 stars was because one time three of us booked a 10am slot and despite all of the climbers waiting outside and calling and knocking on the doors, no one was there to open up and we ended up leaving almost an hour later, so that kinda sucked.

I need to share my disappointment with the experience I had at Hangar 18 in Arlington, Riverside, on January 18. I arrived at 6:20 PM and, after listening to approximately 40 minutes of loud, punk-rock (hectic) non-stop music, I politely requested that the music be changed to something calmer, as the current selection felt inappropriate for the environment, and the volume unsafe.Although the staff initially agreed to adjust the music, and no changes were ultimately made. The volume and type of music remained disruptive throughout my visit, 40 more minutes. This situation is disheartening, as Hangar 18 has always been a place I've enjoyed. I wrote to the gym, and recorded the music volume for future reference. I haven't heard back from anybody yet.

1st time here, and had an amazing experience. Went around 1pm & there was no crowd (which we loved). The girl at the front desk, also did our intro training. She was nice & made the training shirt, yet very informative. (Perfect for an ADHD brain). It was so much fun & we'll definitely return.
