H Salt Fish & Chips

I love this H Salt Fish and Chips! My husband and I have been coming here for years. We live in the mountains and take the food home. The employees always pack the food well and the fish is still hot and crispy when we get home. The employees are always nice and helpful. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and the restaurant could use an update but the food remains good!

Prices went up and the amount of food went down. With the $10.99 "special", Two pieces of fish is just one regular size piece cut in half with two very very small pieces of zucchini in addition to the owners didn't really value the customers and it showed. Not going back anymore.

Food was as good as I remember. We got oysters, scallops, & London combo with fries and zucchini and hush puppies. I still think it's better than Long John Silvers. Service was fine mostly order and sit. Ambiance very casual. Not crowded. 11 seating tables inside. Of course will be back.

H and Salt fish n chips located in San Bernardino is ok. Staff/employees are not very engaging, which can feel like their not welcoming or friendly.We opted on 2 daily specials for 9.99& 1 fish and chicken combo 8.99 and a side of hushpuppies 6 for 3.59. 1 large fountain drink about 3 bucks and small was about 2 bucks. Can't remember the exact price.Guy, taking our order messed up on the price, so he had to ask for help.The lady who came to help figured out the problem but belittled him in front of me, which was super uncomfortable for the both of us.The lady apologized for his mishap but continued to tell the guy why did he do it this way.I just wish she had pulled him aside to talk to him.Not that she was being loud, but people shouldn't put others on the spot in front of customers.It's just makes it weird for everyone involved.The food was hot and fresh.The fish was just ok. Nothing special and needed seasoning, but the batter was extra crispy.Fries were the frozen kind you buy at your grocery store freezer isle. So we all agreed that fresh fries would have been way better because it is a fish and chips restaurant. Hubby said the chicken was ok and agreed the fish was alright but needed something.Mom thought it was ok.We all agreed the fried zucchinis were good because they were thick and not mushy.The hushpuppies were not that great.Overall, it was an ok spot for a quick bit to eat but probably will not recommend or return.

Food is great! Service was excellent! Very polite and attentive. Took my food to go and it was fast! The fish and chips I ordered were delicious! The restaurant itself is nice and cool on a hot summer day. Great little hidden gem here in the inland empire!

I'm glad I found this H Salt Fish and Chips. H Salt has always been my favorite for fish and chips and this place doesn't disappoint.

It's a little scary outside in this neighborhood but do yourself a favor and go get some amazing food!!! It's been 35 plus years since I ate at an H Salt but remembered them from their glory days. This place is cooking it up fresh to order, our meals were so crispy and yummy! We will return even though this is about 30 miles from our house. The people cooking the food here care!!!! Service was good as well!

The food is fantastic and fresh! Walking into the restaurant is like walking into a time capsule where they cooked everything in front of you. Go if you want good food. The people are nice, and the service is exceptional!

I hadn't had it in years. It was exactly how I remembered it. So delicious. We even take my family several times

H Salt Fish& Chips is not as good as it used to be.It's new owners don't cook the same. Today fries were dry & hush puppies cooked to hard. I was there a couple months ago and fish wasn't cooked well. Fries were greasy and not crispy. Homeless sleep in front of business. Today milk was splashed on door and the gsllon sitting outside. Pigeons have made a nest on top of building, feathers and poop in driveway. Business should keep front cleaned up. Don't think I'll be going back there.
