Gus Jr. Restaurants

This review is for Gus Jr #6 on Waterman. I loved their burger and fries. Good price. The chef salad had plenty of meat and cheese. But it was just okay. The quesadilla was really good. I'd get that again. I was impressed with the amount of food. They have large portions. The service was good. They were nice. No problems. I didn't go inside so I can't speak for the ambiance. But I really like this place. I'm looking forward to trying more things. I heard breakfast is good too

This little greasy spoon is located right off the freeway in a little free standing building. They have both American and Mexican food. I did take out on a Tuesday night. There was no one else in the drive through line. They didn't seem too busy. I ordered the chili Verde not knowing what ingredients were in the burrito. The burrito was huge. It fit the entire take out box! It was full of thick juicy tender beef, rice, cheese and spicy sauce. It definitely had a kick like burning your tongue kick. It was very good. I ate 1/4 of the burrito and was full. It was so filling. Definitely a solid choice.

I have been going to Gus Junior at Waterman/Redlands for many many years. My favorites were always the Large zuchini and a pastrami sandwich. Recently they have decided to do away with the large zuchini, they charge you almost $10 for five or six strips of zucchini... and the pastrami sandwich is now $20! I have shared this information with everybody on the Reche Canyon Facebook pages. I will not be coming back and from the responses of my posts ...your are gonna lose quite a few customers.

Gus jr Serves really good home-cooked meals as a drive-through better than McDonald's and all the other junk food place. It's good!

Typical short order burger place. Food is good at an average price point. Great for breakfast lunch or dinner. Mix between Mexican and American food available. Parking sucks though as the lot is tiny.

Always had great experience with the staff at Gus! Food is mostly good, had some hits and misses.

I was just served by the rudest person. Her name was Monica. I came here for a burrito this am and they stated they put hasbrowns in their burritos not cut potatoes- no prob! I'll just get a bacon sandwich instead. She had a complete attitude when I asked her if she heard me about switching it over because we sat in complete silence for a good 50 seconds. She started arguing with me over the speaker for some reason. Not sure if she is having a bad day but her attitude totally ruined my experience here.. and I really enjoy their food! :/

Food is terrible save your money and go else where. Chili cheese fires are basic and hamburgers are gross. Bread was hard. It has long lines for no reason! Probably the convenience.

I am not one to leave bad reviews, but people should be aware of the kind of food that is being served here. I was excited to try the food at this restaurant because in NorCal we don't have this breakfast joint (thank god). I ordered an omelette with a "crispy" hash brown. Absolutely horrible. The omelette was soaked with gravy and the veggies inside the omelette were undercooked. Moreover, the "crispy" hash brown was HARD not "crispy". It seemed like it was a day old and they merely heated it up. Again, absolutely horrible. I also ordered a breakfast burrito with chorizo. The tortilla was soaked with grease, yuck. Additionally, there was little to no chorizo in the "chorizo burrito". There was more egg than chorizo. Also, the egg was undercooked. I am never coming back here.

Today I order 2 pastrami burgers and they both came with onions pickles and thousand island which are 3 things my finance and I do not eat. When I asked for a refund or a remake because the food was untouched, they said no. According to them, this is what the burger comes with and I should have asked for them to take it out. No where on the menu does it list the ingredients and we were under the impression it was a meat only burger. Above all, the patty was the thinnest I've ever seen and there was very little pastrami to begin with. For me to pay $16.00 per meal and for them to be unwilling to fix a simple issue was very disingenuous. Don't waste your time at this location, go to the Gus Jr on the corner of waterman and 13th street (across from the DMV in San Bernardino). They have generous portions, great customer service and the prices are lower. You can tell the significant difference in the pictures.
