Evy Funnel Cakes & Tacos

First event was great. Second event she canceled an hour before the event and then ghosted us and we never got our money back

I really wanted to be able to give them 5 stars, everything started great with communication, menus options, and a very reasonable price, but it was not executed. I will say Evy is a very great communicator, very responsive, answers all of my questions within a timely manner. I did have a few requests as far as adding items to the menu for my 200 person package. From what she told me we could have to what was actually delivered is what got me. Don't get me wrong her tacos are VERY good, we had lots of compliments on the tacos. We were told for our appetizer portion we would have LOTS of food, including nachos, corn on a cup, and chips and guacamole. (None in which we received.) she did have the other things we agreed on the only thing I was nervous about was the ceviche (just looked questionable), I did see lots of fruit but I wanted more of what i was promised. Now dinner time... yes we had tacos, but ran out of beans VERY quickly, we did ask for some sort of Mexican Caesar salad, was not there, still no guacamole, and no extra chips. This was for a wedding. Evy was kind and made my self and my husband a plate, but only gave us a few tacos each and no sides so we never got to taste anything else, you would think you'd want to impress the people who hired you? I added on Birria tacos last minute which I thought would come with the consume, I guess I misunderstood, because we didn't have that either. Also never saw one street hot dog which was also promised. I did ask their team to come wearing all black since this again was a wedding, and they did but it was mostly tshirts and basketball shorts which just didn't look great at a semi formal attire event. And also took a very long time to get everyone fed. She definitely had the best pricing which I think keeps her busy but there is so much to improve on especially for larger scale events. We essentially got what we paid for. Could things have been a lot better, absolutely. But she did show up and my guests were fed.

I booked their taco service for a surprise grad party. I advised if they could be there at 3:30. They didn't show up till 5pm. I ordered horchata, there was NO horchata. There was suppose to be chips. NO chips. I had funnel cakes..... NO a funnel cakes, the man said he had churros down. He made about 10 and then packed up shortly after and left. The meat was chewy. The rice and beans were cold. If I would have known..... I wouldn't have paid in advance. The set up was horrible as well.... It looked nothing like the photos they present on Yelp.

Took $250 deposit for a kids birthday party then ghosted us and never showed up. Ruined our party!!!!! Stay away from!!!!!!

DO NOT TRUST EVY! Evy was very responsive to all my questions, but once I gave her the $250 deposit for my kid's birthday party she completely went silent. I made multiple calls, emails, and texts to see if she was set for the event, but no response. I ended up scrambling for another vendor the morning of the event. She never showed. The event was supposed to a joyfull time with friends and family, but instead ended up being so stressful. Please avoid her at all cost!

Beware of this scammer!!! They take your deposit and either don't show (happened to me on one event) or they arrive super late (3 hrs late on another event for me) and they refuse to refund completely. They make up fake lies, they had covid, someone died or they're in the hospital. I've already reported to BBB. Do not trust Evy, her husband, mom or son. I used them several yrs ago and everything was great. I hired them again and they did not show up on time so after calling for an hr Evy finally asked me to call her husband. (Tacos were supposed to be ready by 5pm. At 6 pm her husband answered and said he was at another location 2 hrs away doing tacos. He asked if I still wanted them to show I said yes. Tacos were ready at at 830pm. I had them already booked for the following week and they just didn't show at all. Evy has now blocked me and refuses to completely refund me for not showing up. Avoid them at all costs!!!!

The process to hire them was smooth and they were communicative about prices and what was included. The service was good- both workers were very nice. There was miscommunication about the start time, which was partly on me. But they were also late to the time that THEY thought they should be there. They didn't bring any Guac or chips like stated they would. Also, the food was just okay. I personally got a lot of pieces that were too chewy or hard. It was edible though. They are a cheaper taco service, so you get what you pay for. I personally wouldn't hire them again but they get the job done especially if you are on a tight budget.

Do not trust this lady to cater your event! We booked Evy one week in advance and called the day before to confirm, the crew was suppose to arrive at 5pm but did not show. Tried calling, texting and emailing for 1 hour before we got an answer back, she said that she couldn't reach the crew that was suppose to handle our event and that she would send another crew immediately...guess what?! No one showed up. Finally at 7:20pm she text and said that no body was coming...sorry for the inconvenience. I don't consider leaving 40 adults without food an inconvenience...I call that a lack of responsibility, poor business practice and a disaster. As for our deposit, we had to ask several times for her to return it.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!! They are no business people. My sister hired them for my baby shower back in September 25th. They called her the day before to cancel "due to COVID." She paid in FULL for their services. They told her it was going to be two weeks before they send her a refund. Well, it has been over two weeks and they have ghosted her. No return calls regarding her refund. The guy told my sister to take them to small claims court. They flat out stole from her!! Save yourself the headache and stay away from these people.

Hi my name is Vanessa, one of my close relatives recommended Evy to use for my brothers funeral that just happened on Saturday . So Saturday comes she was supposed to be there at my parents house at 5pm. she sent these 2 other girls that had really bad customer service that came at 6:30pm and didn't start cooking the food till 7pm which everyone had to wait till 8pm to eat . The meats we ordered were Carne asada , Pastor ,Chicken and fish instead of the funnel cakes . But we didn't receive fish we received funnel cakes instead which we didn't want . we also ordered drinks like horchata ,tamarindo, Cucumber drink. Tell me why she only sends horchata, tamarindo , jamaica like really we payed for what we wanted not for what you wanted to bring . We ordered food for 150 people but only received food for 50 people there wasn't enough food for anyone . My mom payed 750 for her services which sucked ass . I wouldn't recommend her to anyone . Her services and food taste like shit .. So my mom calls Evy the next day and tells her everything that happened . Emily says well my services were done I can't do anything about that or fix the problem..
