The food is decent, a different style of Mexican food.Set your expectations. It is a spot to draaaank and eat. Most of the folks had a alcoholic bebida. I had chicken verde and it seemed to be made with dark meat pieces. Very good. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly. The host was kind and walked me to our table. Ambiance, I wouldve preferred the booths vs the barside by the televisions. Wasnt too loud. Was a chill environment.

I recently stopped at this Mexican restaurant on my way, and I have to say, the food was quite surprising. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. The ambiance was pleasant. It was easy to appreciate the effort the kitchen staff put into the plates.However, my visit was somewhat overshadowed by the service. Unfortunately, the waitress who attended to me was not very welcoming or helpful, which dampened an otherwise enjoyable meal. It's always nice to feel a bit of warmth and friendliness from the staff, and I believe that can significantly enhance the experience. While I appreciated the delicious food, the lack of a friendly touch means I might think twice before returning to this restaurant.

If I could I would give this restaurant a zero. I ordered the asada burrito and it was terrible. *rubbery meat *almost no sauce for it being a wet burrito *cold once I picked it up within 15 min of ordering *extremely overpriced for the quality of food I rarely leave reviews and this was bad enough for me to be that upset to take the time to do it. El Ranchero has been serving up authentic Mexican cuisine in the city of Claremont for almost 30 years! Every dish is prepared fresh daily from scratch and you can tell in the taste I tried their Tampico enchiladas, steak and shrimp, and chicken mole. Each plate was fully loaded and came with rice and beans If you're in the mood for dessert, I highly recommend their deep fried ice made in-house And you can't leave without trying one of their signature cocktails. They're called the house of margaritas for a reason They have over 8 flavors of margaritas to choose from and some of the best Jamaica cantaritos I've ever had. They even have happy hour specials too! They've also remodeled their banquet hall and can accommodate those who are hosting private events

I highly recommend El Ranchero for a dining and space for special events. This past weekend, El Ranchero hosted a surprise birthday dinner party for my Mom in their banquet room. The restaurant and staff were wonderful and really made the event perfect. I made the reservation a couple months prior with the owner Jose and he got everything together as far as the menu goes(we ordered three entrees with salad, salsa, rice, beans and soft drinks. I confirmed a few days prior with a final head count and we arrived, did some decorating and had a fun evening. They held our cake in the fridge and then cut it and passed around when it was time.I've been to the restaurant many times over the years and I knew my Mom liked their food so I'm very pleased that El Ranchero provided great service and food once again. Thank you very much Jose and the El Ranchero Team!

First time here now the foodEl Puerto Nuevo plate.Halibut Steak with sautéed Shrimp with a lemon butter sauce rice n beansBeans no flavor needs a little lard, did not taste the lemon butter sauce on Halibut. The fish was good 2.Chicken With sour cream Enchiladas Lots of food Enchiladas a little dry and could Use more cheese again lacking flavor 3. Cantina Sampler Plate Huge size enough for 3 to share did not know about the crunchy Tortilla with lettuce on top4. Drinks amazing Tamarindo Cantaritos n Sandia also. Mango Margarita Ambiance & service was great. Don't like leaving this kind of review so will be back to give it another try.
