Way out in bfe upland. 60+ miles from Torrance Ca. 90501.The food ? Bueno provecho!I had the carnitas dinner and a taco el pastor. Very authentic and flavorful.Skimpy on beans and rice. Not very tasty.Our server was attentive and efficient. We had a large group of retired Deputies. Everyone enjoyed their meals. El Perico is a spot I've been to before, but it had been a while, so I decided to swing by for lunch. Walking in, it was pretty quiet--almost eerily so for lunchtime. Not much staff was around, including the bartender, who apparently doesn't come in until mid-day. By the time I left, the bar area had come to life with patrons eagerly waiting for drinks.On this visit I ordered three carnitas and asada tacos, priced at $6 each, and quickly realized I'd overcommitted. I would have been fine with just two. These are no ordinary tacos--they're full-on meal tacos. Each one came on a full-sized corn tortilla piled high with meat. Honestly, you could split one taco into two and still be satisfied. Pro tip: bring your appetite or a friend who doesn't mind sharing.The carnitas were definitely the star--juicy, flavorful, and tender. The asada was fine, but it just couldn't compete with the carnitas. The service was decent, though I found myself waiting a little longer than I'd like for drink refills.Overall, El Perico serves up solid food with portions that could feed a small army. Just be prepared to wait a bit if you're thirsty, and maybe time your visit for when the bartender clocks in!

2 years after my last review and the same holds true: service remains wonderful, the food is still consistent and delicious, and thr ambiance is cause and friendly. This spot is still one of our go to places for good mexican food. A must for each visit: the tables ideas guacamole. Don't visit without it.

Even when short staffed they did an amazing job. Food is always outstanding. We go a few times a year. I keep ordering the same 3 item combo out of habit.

Party of 6 for a birthday dinner during the week and had a pleasant experience. Chips n salsa 9/10. Service was decent and all plates that were ordered came out in a timely manner. Ambiance is okay, they try their best to make it a cozy Mexican restaurant. The margarita was a 7/10. Hard shell taco fell apart from being over soggy :( overall the food was good and like the fact that the enchilada & taco was white meat. I would return on occasions only.

Placed a phone order for two Perico burritos which serves 2-3 people each . The waitress that took my order was friendly and let me know what the burrito would include such as options for meat, wet style sauce on top &guac and sour cream on the side (such helpful service ) . The wait for pickup was 10 min which was awesome since I had a few friends coming over shortly for dinner and a movie! When I picked my order it was ready. The inside restaurant was clean and decorated lovely . The staff all greeted me when I Walked it. The burrito was delicious hot and full of carne asada rice beans cheese melted inside and on top. The wet red sauce was tasty not spicy. I will be coming back to try other dishes. Thank you for the great service and food!

This review is for the service only. Came in to get take out on a Sunday night. Three male servers just keep on walking by me avoiding eye contact. However, dine in customers were immediately welcomed and seated. After about 10 minutes wait, one server finally met up with me at the check out counter, took my order and rung me up. Then when he saw I did not leave a tip, everything went downhill, as if Elsa came in to freeze the resto. Cold, rude and no thank yous. Oh well! Food was good though, but service.... Nah!

El Perico Ranchero is a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican food! I stopped by recently and was blown away by their fajitas and enchiladas--both were absolutely delicious.The fajitas arrived sizzling hot, packed with tender, perfectly seasoned meat and fresh, flavorful peppers and onions. The portion was generous, and the tortillas were warm and soft--perfect for wrapping up all that goodness.The enchiladas were just as impressive. I tried the red sauce, and it was rich, savory, and full of flavor. The cheese was perfectly melted, and the filling was spot on. Every bite had that homemade taste that makes you want to come back for more.Beyond the food, the service was friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting atmosphere. If you're in Upland and craving some amazing Mexican food, this is the place to go!
