If you're up for a delicious meal that will tantalize your tastebuds and take you on a quick journey through Central America, make it a point to visit El Chivazo Salvadorian Restaurant in Corona, CA.I placed an online order and walked into a clean dining room with plenty of seating and friendly faces that greeted me at the counter for pickup. This was my first experience with El Salvadorian food and it won't be the last! I ordered the Yucca and chicharron and 3 pupusas that were fresh, flavorful and were made to order. What surprised me most was how tasty everything was while not looking very seasoned. Simply delicious is how I'd describe this meal. The Revuelta Pupusas were served with a type of pickled slaw (not pictured) and savory tomato sauce for dipping which was the perfect balance to the pork, cheese and bean filling--I actually asked for more sauce it was that good. The pork and yucca were fried to perfection and again, surprised me with how flavorful they were while looking so plain ( btw..look how crisp the yucca looks in the photo)I'm so glad I decided to check out this little family-owned restaurant not too far from home after seeing them on Yelp. It was absolute treat and they've definitely made a new customer out of me! Until next time El Chivazo's :)

Amazing food and service. Lots of seating if you're coming with a group and attentive waiters/waitresses. 10/10 recommend this place for authentic Salvadorian food.

If you love pupusas you gotta try this place. Been here a couples of times. Food is good but ALWAYS super slow service. Seems like maybe they are understaffed. Always see the same 2-3 people. They have changed their decor since the first time we came. Def more modern. Its not in the best part of our city but the food is def worth a try.

if I could give this place a zero star I would. Service is awful and rude and don't even get me started on the food. after waiting over 25 minutes it comes out cold and the pupusas dough was raw. never coming back.

Chivazo is super delicious and super authentic! The pupusas are handmade fresh to order so expect a little wait. If you're in a rush you for sure should call ahead. If you're new around here and are looking for a flavorful meal I recommend trying a revuelta pupusa and a queso con loroco pupusa. With this entree it will come with pickled cabbage (curtido) and salsa (not spicy very mild and more tomatoy). 2 pupusas is plenty for an adult but if you're a hungry person like myself 3 is sufficient. I also recommend the pastellitos. Super good! Think of them as this crispy empanada type filled with savory goodness. The agua frescas are BOMB! All around I had a very good experience. The place is clean, had modern decor and is well lit. The business is located behind jack in the box and pretty easy to find if you keep your eyes peeled. Plenty of parking. In my experience, everyone is bilingual and friendly. Also eager to recommend foods if you're new to the cuisine. I love it here! So yummy. My parents and boyfriend loved it too. Will take photos along my journey eating here. 5/5!

I have been meaning to write this review for a while now and today's experience reminded that I should. The pupusas here are delicious. THE ONLY issue I have with them is that they're stingy with their salsa! They give you one small container for 2 pupusas and they charge .25 for extra salsa. If you're Salvadorian, you know that you eat pupusas with a lot of salsa! For the price I would expect more salsa and the salsa is very watery. When I brought this up to the cashier he said "it's only .25 cents." If I had more local options I would stop coming here.
