We stopped by Dono Sushi while at the plaza after seeing their 50% off deal on all sushi and rolls, plus all-day happy hour. It sounded like a great deal, so we decided to give it a try. It was around 2 PM on a Saturday, and the place was pretty quiet, with just a few tables taken. We ordered: Volcano Baked Roll - The roll was pretty small, even with the 50% discount. Unfortunately, the portion didn't feel like much, and the taste was just okay--not bad, but not memorable. I definitely wouldn't order it at full price. Kids Dinner Set - We got the teriyaki chicken, which came with French fries and nicely cut orange. The portion was decent, and my kid liked the teriyaki sauce so much that he ate a bowl of rice with it. However, the chicken itself was super dry and hard to eat. The fries and orange were fine, but the dry chicken was disappointing. Combo (2 Items) - We went with California rolls and mixed tempura. Both were very standard--nothing special, but nothing to complain about either.Overall, the 50% discount made the price reasonable for what we got, but I wouldn't pay full price given the taste and portion sizes. The food was okay, but not enough to make us want to come back anytime soon.

Came with a few friends that recommended this place for lunch today. Tried their bugolgi combination plate. Came with rice, salad, qyoza, and California roll. Also comes with miso soup. $14.99 not bad and they give you a good portion for the price! My friends got lunch 3 item combos and noticed how big the portion sizes were. Good stuff! Our server, Hailey was awesome. We had great service along with our delicious meals. Prices seem very reasonable and they do have happy hour specials! Will be back again to try other menu items in the near future.

Despite the weekend crowds, I found that weekdays are the perfect time to enjoy a quiet meal with only a few others around. The food, although it can take some time to be served, is definitely worth the wait. One of the highlights of Dono Sushi is the ample parking available, making it a convenient choice for those driving in. The service was friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience.If you're a sushi lover looking for a hidden gem, I highly recommend giving Dono Sushi a try. Just be sure to visit on a weekday for a more relaxed atmosphere!

There's always a first for everything, right? Tonight I had my first experience where I got charged $2 extra for asking to change my spicy salmon roll to NON spicy salmon roll. They said because they put more salmon in it. Hmmm, okay. It's very bizarre to me, also they didn't notice me in advance. It's not about the $2, it's about the notification if you need to charge your customer extra. That's not cool at all. The food is mediocre, and took a while for our food to come, and there were only us and another table at the restaurant. Overall experience 3 out of 5. Definitely not my favorite sushi place in Chino Hills. DONO sushi. Sure, I will DO NO(more) sushi with you.

I have been coming to this restaurant on and off for many many years. Having moved to Hawaii I haven't gone in a few years. I was so happy that they are still in business. I was visiting family in Pomona and stopped by for dinner on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was packed but we were able to get seating fairly quickly. We all ordered the same item which is the salmon roll. It was delicious and tasted fresh. I could have eaten 2 plates of it. I tried the yakisoba but was way too sweet for my liking. In Hawaii we eat it more savory. We were also given miso soup which was extremely appreciated considering it was a cool evening. service was great and prompt. I will definitely be returning when I am visiting family again.

Used to be pretty good. Came here regularly. Today, very overcooked steak, like shoe leather. Mentioned to server, who I believe is part of the family that owns or runs it, and she just says, "sorry." No offer to redo or reduce bill. I reduced it myself and told her "sorry." There are many Japanese restaurants around the area. Don't need to go to this one.
