The food here is great, but it is the service that takes this restaurant over the top. The portions are very large and generous, and if you lay mignon is very thunder on the kebabs. But the waiter and waitress are super friendly, curious helpful, and a pleasure to speak with, and this is why we will return soonI recommend

Food here was amazing. Everything was fresh. Sometimes at places like this you have some dryness in the chicken or falafel--not here. Everything was perfectly cooked, and seasoned well. Quality was good for both eat in and take out. If you like Mediterranean cuisine you will love this place.Service has been phenomenal every time. There's genuine care for your experience and everyone was super friendly. Highly recommend!

A friend suggested we try place, so we went on a Thursday at 7PM. About only half of the tables were taken. We wanted to try the potato and soujouk boreg, so we asked if we can get 2 of each. At first the server said no, but we thought it was weird since it was the same price but then she asked her supervisor again and he said yes! The soujouk boreg is on the salty side and should be eaten fresh cuz the mozz gets all clumpy as it sits. For entrees we got the falafel platter and beef kebab platter. The falafel was full of flavor and crispy. The tahini sauce and pickles had no flavor tho, but luckily the plate came with hummus. The beef kebab was tender.I think next time I would get the falafel appetizers and get the hummus dip separately. That way you can choose what kind of hummus and it's a bigger portion. I would give 4.5 stars because of the inconsistency with the menu. Apparently not all the hot appetizers get pita bread per the server. So the Boregs don't come with pita bread, just as an FYI. Or the server didn't know the menu or the server just didn't want to bring it.

The food is so delicious. Chicken shawarma is moist and seasoned wonderfully. My beef kabob wrap was loaded with tender meat. I love that they put hummus on each plate so you don't have to order a big bowl of it.The decor is nice and fresh looking. Nice music and comfortable chairs. My only complaint is the restaurant tends to get loud like a lot of new restaurants these days.

Came here to celebrate my birthday and everyone enjoyed the food. The beef fillet kebab plate was certainly the winner: get it medium and it's tender and flavorful. The chicken kebab was also tender too and it came in at a close second. If you order the combo for two it comes with the beef, chicken and luleb so it's a better deal at $34. All come with a huge serving of rice, a pita bread, and grilled tomato and chili. Nicely decorated inside and friendly service.

Pleasantly surprised to have The Diplomat in La Verne! I love the one in Glendora and Monrovia so of course I had to see if this was the same delicious flavor. I needed a quick lunch to I ordered my go to of fried cauliflower and an order of hummus and pita. Food came out quickly and was just as delicious. Their seating area was spacious and I really liked decor, a very nice addition to the area. Welcome to La Verne!

For years my wife and I had heard Diplomat in Glendora was great but never had a chance to go there. When they opened one in La Verne, we knew we had to make our way there at some point. We brought my dad here for his birthday and everything was great. The servers were kind, the place was CLEAN, and most importantly, the food was really good. And all for a great price. There's a lot of competition in La Verne with Middle Eastern food and they're all great - you can't go wrong with Diplomat. Their garlic is top notch, too.

Overall the food is great here but it also very heavy handed with the salt. I like salty food but if you have hypertension or a salt restriction, maybe request no salt on your food. With that said, the salmon is great and huge. Their lentil soup is also delicious. The chicken kabob my daughter ordered was super juicy. The only thing I do not recommend is their rice pilaf. It was very soggy. I recommend subbing for fries or veggies. The prices seem a little high initially ($16 for chicken shawarma fries?) but the portions are more than substaintial. and given the high costs of rent, ingredients and labor...eating out is a luxury these days.

For a first time experience, Diplomat hit all the marks as a new contender in the area. I have been enjoying chicken shawarma since Aladdin's was the only spot in town, so that was a really long time ago. Since then, Georgie's (both Covina and Glendora) have become a favorite, but I'd have to say Diplomat is one of the best impressions I've had in a very long time. I came here based on the positive feedback from my roomies, and they told me to try the spicy labneh sauce. Wow, I've never had anything that was both creamy, spicy, and cooling at the same time. That was a new experience. The cheese rolls were tasty. The garlic was super garlicky which I loved, and the shawarma was really tasty. It had kick to it and tasted better than a lot of shawarma I've had.I usually stay away from the pickled cabbage, but everything was so good that I ended up trying the cabbage with the shawarma, and I think I've been missing out! I'll start eating it more often now! Compared to the other restaurants I've been to, I'd say the portions are less, but the quality of everything I had was levels above. I'd like to try this place two or three more times with friends to see if this places holds a top three spot now. Georgie's and Eden (in Pasadena with their different kinds of hummus) are not the top two. The other spot was/is Janet's in Duarte, but I think it's about to get knocked off. The service here is amazing. One of the gentleman apologized for the wait and share that they are understaffed, but I had no problem with wait time. It didn't feel long at all, and food was brought out in a timely fashion. If the stress was on the back end with prep and cooking, I really appreciate that they worked so hard to get food out, and I hope that add additional needed staff to help.On a few occasions, the gentleman who took my order asked how things were going and asked how the food was. The experience overall was amazing. I'd say this is more of a classy dining experience with wine and bar offerings. I really appreciate the care and attention for service and food provided by Diplomat and encourage you to try.If you've never eaten the pickled cabbage, pair it with the shawarma and rice all at once. I admit now, I've been missing out. Diplomat has shown me there's levels to the shawarma game. Come through and give them a try. Fellow Elite friends, hit me up if you want to connect and grub, I'll meet up.Enjoy everyone. Come support Diplomat. (I was not compensated extra garlic or anything with this review)
