First Nicaraguan cuisine taste today with hubby.Restaurant is clean and has few framed paintings on the wall , US and Nicaraguan flags, a map of the country, and has Nicaragua printed shirts for sale.Anita took our order first then we found a cozy corner table away from the glass window!I got the Bistec Encebolladowhich means Steak topped with onion, with tomato, and bell pepper served with a side of gallo pinto rice, fried sweetened plantains, and fried cheese! Generous size seasoned tender beef meat smothered with sweet and tangy sauteed onions and green bell pepper in tomatoes sauce!Loved the flavorful pinto beans in the rice. Not fan of the fried cheese which was too dry for me.Hubby had the Sopa De Albondigas which is chicken soup as described ... broth was flavorful but couldn't figure out what the meatballs were made off. They were more of a doughy consistency with no flavor or taste ! Forgot to ask !!!Neutral Gender Restroom was very clean.

Nothing seems to be fresh. It tastes like left overs. The ensalada lacks flavor. I make better gallo pinto. The banana is soggy. These are staples. Should be the easiest, quickest, and fresh to order. The caballo bajo is ok. Salpincon is ok. Fried cheese is good and the cacao is good. I don't hear or smell the food cooking... I wonder if they only re heat the food. I only come when I want fried cheese and cacao.

Parking: Good amount available in parking lot Ambience: Relatively small diner space that involves having to grab a key to open the restroom Service: Standard, no complaints!Taste: 1st time trying Nicaraguan food, so wasn't sure what to expect. Got the chancho con yucca (yucca with pork), nacatamal (Nicaraguan tamale), and tajadas verdes con queso (plantain with cheese). The chancho con yucca was definitely the best part--pork was seasoned well, tender and juicy enough to melt in the mouth, and paired well with the starchy and soft yucca. Nacatamal was pretty good--seemed more oily than Mexican tamales in my opinion, and I didn't care for the olives inside, but quite yummy otherwise! Plantain with cheese was a surprise--probs should've asked or researched about it beforehand but I was thinking fried plantains. Turns out they're plantain chips with hard thin blocks of cheese. Would definitely come back for the chancho con yucca!

The food was delicious and affordable! We got a plate to share between three of us and a toddler and we had extra. The drinks were refreshing. We had the passion fruit, the cactus flower fruit, and the Salvadoran horchata. We also tried the chicharron, the carne deshebrada, and the puerco adobado. There was platanos and rice with beans. The service was magnificent. The ambiance was wonderful. There are many Salvadoran decorations. The bathrooms were clean and there were more than enough tables and baby chairs. There also was a menu with variety on it. Can't wait to go again and try more things off the menu!

This place is a must stop and eat absolutely delicious. Anything on the menu is worth getting hard and soft plantains. Don't miss it. You'll be mad you did.

I've neen there a few times by my self and with famiy. This time I went with my brother and family We arrivef at 10 :30 am. My brother ordered a fritanga. The cheese was re fried, the gallo pinto was kind of wet not fluffy. The salad was old at least 3 days. and tasted horrible. The meat was hard, maduros were cold. The tostones were burned. Please people don't serve food from previous day, or left overs. We payed for a nice meal, but instead was experienced was horrible I was embarrased bc my brother drove from west covina.Really dad. Really disappointed.

The prices are too high, the place was dirty and they didn't clean the bathrooms. The service was poor and they dont take pets. The food is cooked with reused oil. Think about it before coming.

Today My husband ordered 2 plates of Caballo bayo, I'm not picky about food but my plate came with 3 pieces of fat and a really old plantain plus beans and rice the only what I can eat, we pay almost $20 for each plate and I feel like they cheated on me
