Day Day's BBQ & Waffle House

I have been here a couple of times. I just love the crunchy fried chicken and the fluffy waffles. I usually can't eat a whole waffle at other places but when I'm at Day Day's, I eat it all! The waffles seems lighter with a crunch. The salted butter and honey just make it perfect.The chicken is definitely a favorite of mine. The food is consistently good. Pricing is fair and service is great. It's a pretty small diner with booths. The area around it doesn't seem safe. Sometimes prostitutes waln around in broad day light but it's not Day Day's fault. I keep coming back because of the food.

This is a gem in P-town, but we didn't wanna drive out. DoorDash to the rescue and we got our soul food fix! Recently, I decided to try Teasha's Combo, which is a delightful meal that truly satisfies. The highlight of this combo is two golden-fried chicken wings, which are perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They are paired with a fluffy waffle, golden-brown and light, making for a wonderful contrast in textures. For my side, I opted for grits, which were creamy and seasoned just right, adding a comforting element to the dish. The combo also includes one egg prepared any style, and I chose it over easy. This way, I could enjoy the rich, runny yolk as a dip for my waffle, enhancing the overall flavor experience. It was a delicious combination that left me feeling completely satisfied!

I really enjoy the decor of this restaurant. It has that warm and cozy comfort type of feel. The seats are comfortable and the decorations are immaculate. The service was great.The food was amazing. The waffles were very good. The chicken was nicely seasoned and the breakfast was cooked to perfection. The only thing that I didn't like was the parking situation.

I liked the place. The location is not a real good one on Holt in Pomona. At least 8 guys out front of the place and on side of the liquor store around the corner. The guys did not bother us, as they ain't and eventually moved on. Five minutes to get seated and another 10 minutes to order. Then another 15 minutes for the food to arrive. I had the hot links, cheese grits, eggs and toast. The food was good and tasty. They had like 4 hot sauces: Tabasco, red rooster, Crystals and one other. Wifey had the fried catfish with greens and black eyed peas. She liked her food a lot. The food was prepared well. They also have Kool Aid here, and you get free refills. The kool aid is $4.29 We had all of our food for about $44 and that was real good. Nadine, the waitress staff was detailed and observant.

This is definitely a little holeIn the wall place in the seedy part of town on Holt St in Pomona. You'll pass right by it on the street if you don't know where it is. Let's start with the service. Our server was so gracious and sweet and very attentive. She gets 5 stars for her service. And that's where the 5 stars stops. I ordered smothered pork chops with rice n gravy, a side of sweet potatoes, and a side of Cajun cabbage. And a waffle on the side. The waffle was a good size Belgium style with a nice thickness to it. Not thin like Roscoes. The flavor was very good, but the texture was off. I like my waffles crispy on the outside and light and fluffy within. This waffle was soft as if it had been steamed. I do like that they give you a good dollop of butter that is not cold so it spreads easily. And the syrup was served warm. The batter on the pork chops was A++. It was very crispy and flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning. I wish I had their recipe for batter but the pork chops taste like they were in the freezer and quickly defrosted. They were dry and tough to cut. The fat around the edges was good I'm glad they didn't cut that off. lol The rice was light and fluffy, but the gravy seemed like doctored up premade gravy. The kind you can buy in a can. I wasn't nasty but it wasn't great. The yams were ok. They didn't taste like they were canned. So I'll give them a plus for that. The Cajun cabbage would've been good because you could taste the Cajun seasonings but it was wayyy too salty. My friend ordered the turkey chops. He felt the same as I did about the freezer taste, the toughness, and the great batter. The greens were a little underwhelming. And we didn't find any meat whatsoever in the greens. No hamhocks, no smoked turkey, no nothing from the meat dept. I ordered red beans & rice, with 3 chicken wings, and potato salad to go for my mom. So I didn't get a picture of it. But she said that the wings were delicious. The red beans & rice was mixed together instead of the beans being served over the rice and they were kind of dry. They seemed like the Zatatan's red beans and rice out of the box. She liked the potato salad though. All in all, the food was just ok. Would I go back again? Yes but just to try breakfast. I'll pass on dinner.

I don't know why it took me so long to try this place but glad I finally came. It was a great experience. Food was fresh and hot. Waffle came out hot and I like that they give warm syrup. First time I've gone to a place that warns it. The chicken a good size, tender, and cooked perfectly. First time I've had chicken and waffles and it wasn't hard and overcooked. The greens were really good too. Fairly priced and delicious food. Props to the cook and the young man serving us. The inside was organ and clean. Everyone was very kind and professional. Can't wait to go back. I got two different breakfast plates and added a side of mac. Total came out to about $40.

I've been there 3 times, the first time everything was excellent. I order the hot links and my man order the snapper everything tasted good. Second time my dish was good, hot links and wings were delicious. My man order the snapper again but the fish tasted old. The third time he ordered the shrimp and grits and again the shrimp tasted old not fresh. I personally like my food. It's a hit and miss for us so definitely won't be back anytime soon.

Horrible Service. 1st to Order out of 4 different Customers and the LAST to get my Food. No Water Offered. No Utensils set out. Kool-aid watery. For a Sunday this is NOT ACCEPTABLE! 1-Cook, 1-Waiter is Crazy Management. Please get yall Business in Order. A hour and a half sitting and waiting and still no food. Chicken and waffles never sounded appealing to me but my hubby wanted to try something different for breakfast. Wow am I glad we came to Day Days for my first chicken and waffle experience. The seasoning on this chicken will make you wanna "slap yo' mama", I'm not kidding! I am officially a fan and today I took my Pop and his wife to try for their first time too! They loved it!Yes it's in a sketchy part of town but hey, they say the rougher the neighborhood the better the food! We park on N Lorraine near the Arco and just cross the street. The establishment itself isn't anything fancy but the food, chefs kiss!! My personal recommendation, and if you like wings, order Slim Da Mobsta, comes with about 5 or 6 flats/lil drumettes and all the sides. The 1/2 bird was good too (comes with a wing, drumstick, thigh and breast plus sides) good for 2 people and we ordered a side of potatoes. I want to mention the waffles and how crispy the outside was and soft and light on the inside, love!! Can't wait to come back try their lunch and dinner options.
