My husband, I went there for the first time the food was amazing, we didn't have to wait that long to be seated. The one BIG PROBLEM is a SMOKING as people are waiting to be seated no consideration people that don't SMOKE have to take the secondhand SMOKEIt was so strong that as we were called to be seated, our table was right next to the door entrance and we can smell the smoke coming in.Can you please have NO SMOKING around entrance on this around the corner..

China Republic: Where Green Beans and Walnut Shrimp Rule the EmpireLet me tell you, China Republic is not just a restaurant--it's a whole experience. I showed up here on the strong recommendation of some friends who clearly have excellent taste in food (and friends, if I may say so). From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us like royalty. Honestly, I half-expected someone to roll out a red carpet or start fanning us with palm fronds. They were poised, respectful, and threw in some pro tips on which type of Chow Mein would blow our minds. Spoiler alert: they were spot on.But let me cut to the chase--the stars of the show. First, the Green Beans. I don't know what kind of wizardry they're using back there, but those beans deserve their own fan club. Then there's the Walnut Shrimp, which might just be the eighth wonder of the culinary world. Sweet, savory, crunchy--it's basically a perfect bite every time.I'm already plotting my return to explore more of the menu, but if you go, do yourself a favor and order those two dishes. You'll thank me later.10/10 would chow down again. Long live the Republic!

China Republic is an absolute gem! From start to finish, everything about our dining experience was outstanding. Their House Special Lobster was the star of the show. Cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice, the lobster easily came off the shell and was so flavorful that it didn't need any extra dipping sauce--simply divine! The Peking Duck was another highlight, featuring a perfectly crispy skin paired beautifully with hoisin and plum sauce. The Walnut Shrimp was also a delight, with impressively large shrimp that weren't overly sweet--a perfect balance that we really enjoyed.A pleasant surprise was the Truffle Beef. I had never tried it before, but its rich, aromatic flavor had me eating more rice than I planned--it's just that good! Another standout was the Crab Fish Maw Soup, which was flawless. As a frequent orderer of this dish, I can confidently say they nailed it--it's a benchmark (for me) for how great Chinese cuisine should be.The overall experience was fantastic. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff ensuring our cups of tea, water, and soda were never empty. The team's attention to detail made the meal even more enjoyable.China Republic has definitely earned a spot on my list of go-to restaurants. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for top-notch Chinese cuisine in the IE!

Parking: Plenty availableAmbience: One of the fanciest Chinese restaurants I've been in, with beautiful interior design. Plenty of seating available.Service: Friendly, and appreciate how they're honest about their menu recommendations.Taste: Got a variety of dishes, all of which were quite good and comparable to other similar restaurants in LA.

I attended a family celebration lunch here where the food was all preselected. We had family style dishes steadily coming out for our table to share. The circular glass stand in the middle of the table easily spins so you can bring the dish you want in front of you and take the food you want onto your own plate/bowl. Everything we had which was many variety of dishes were all really good! The bao buns with the duck were so soft and the duck was delicious. I felt all the dishes had a unique flavor and everything was super fresh. The waiters were all friendly and attentive. The restaurant is large and they have a big parking lot to go with it.

Before the pandemic, this was the place to go for dim sum. Parking is never an issue. There is hardly a wait or a line to get in at opening time, too. Always clean, excellent service and waitstaff. I really like how they made the dim sum experience an elevated one. The music here is not so loud like other places. You can actually hear a conversation in front of you. While the selection of dim sum may not be as varied as other spots but the al cart menu is vast and can fill your needs. My favorite are the traditional dim sum dishes, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf, shrimp har gow, steamed gailan, braised pork ribs, pan fried turnip, steamed rice noodle and egg tarts. Really can't go wrong with any of the dishes. I especially enjoy the oolong tea. Overall, if you're looking for a quiet, high quality dim sum, this place is your spot.

Food was good, service was ok.Our server was nice, but we had to wait quite a bit for our orders (unlike other Chinese restaurants that we usually go to).The ambience is definitely nice, which probably explains the quite pricey cost.there's a lot for parking.
