Very small but cute restaurant with bench style seating and K-pop videos playing on the tv screens. My husband and I were here shortly after opening and remained the only customers during our time there. We shared the spicy pork skillet, 20 piece wings and their diy soju cocktail mix (soju, sprite, yakult, and melons ice cream bar served on ice in a bucket).Portions were large and perfect for sharing. The wings & fries were crispy and flavorful, and the spicy pork was delicious as well. We had more than enough food for the both of us and took leftovers home to enjoy as another meal. Our server was helpful and attentive, and seemed to be working at the other restaurant attached to Chimak house as well. Highly recommend & will definitely be back!

Out of the ashes of a Carrow's diner has risen a pocha. Pocha, in this case, is a Korean version of a pub. A pub is a place where drinking is a priority, but food is also important. Also, for the Mexicans out there, do not read "pocha" to mean someone who lost their sauce from living in America too long. Chimak is the name. About a quarter of the dining room is devoted Chimak, the remainder of the space is a sushi restaurant. They are presented entirely different, however, you may order from both menus. You can also move freely between both dining rooms. The Chimak space is darker with the lights slightly dimmer than those over in sushi land. It is made darker still from faux wood paneling and black chalk boards. Luminescence in the room comes from the large TV screens that show K-Pop videos. What else would they show? They serve a decent tteokbokki. The sauce isn't overly sweet like that of the Seoul based chain Halgatteok. It also isn't magma hot like those you find at the more sinister late night shops in Korea. They serve gyoza and not mandu. I suppose they decided to cross purpose their dumplings. Why serve two different, albeit very similar dumplings, from the same kitchen? It's mostly a Japanese fusion place, just stick to the gyoza, is the reasoning. The gyoza skins were from the store, but I'm fairly certain the pork filling was done in house. The wings are good. Nicely crisped even after being thoroughly sauced. They make you wish there was more of a focus on fried chicken here. The kimchi bokkeum bap is fine, not spectacular. They also have whimsical bar snacks like spam fries and cheese corn. Nothing here is spectacular, but it is something that doesn't exist in the IE. Sure we have our share of dubu houses. And there are Korean fried chicken places here and there: the worst among them is the chain bb.q Chicken. But this is our Pocha. Maybe if we treat it nice, other interesting places will come to the IE - Riverside, in particular, has a drastic lack of interesting places to eat. So, hat's off to Chimak.

This place is very popular in the weekends! We had to wait for our tables but seeing that our little ones were getting restless and there's not much room to wait outside, we decided to just go ahead and ordered to go. We went with soy garlic and spicy soy garlic wings. We placed the order on the counter and was told the food would be ready in about 20-25 mins. So we wait, we walked around the plaza, and eventually the food is ready! We commuted home, and wasn't expecting too much crispiness since the chicken has been soaked in the sauce probably too long at this time, but, boy was I wrong. The chicken still had some crisps to it. The flavors were perfect! Generous sauce, and you just want to keep on taking bites after bites. The fries in there were a surprise, a good surprise! it was great to eat with the chicken and the left over sauces. I'd definitely come back again and hopefully we'll get to sit inside and experience the dining in the restaurant next time.

My friends and I favorite spot! We loveee korean food and chicken so this is the perfect spot for us hence why we have came back 3 more times. we always get the tteokbokki with cheese this is a must for us and we always get wings, we've tried different flavors but we really enjoy sweet & spicy and spicy soy garlic. Last time we got the spam fries they were alright i don't think we'll get again. We always get soju as well. The servers here are great and i love the vibe in here it feels like a homey bar.

Had been wanting to try this spot for a while but for the life of me couldn't locate the entrance. I now realize they split the location with the sushi spot and do not open until 5pm! Chimak wings were absolutely delicious! I ordered the sweet and spicy 5pc that came with fries. Their onion rings were also really good as well and they come with ranch, ketchup and honey mustard which I loved bc I love honey mustard. It's pretty dark inside but it was nice and chill vibe. Service was good and food was great! Looking forward to coming back to try their other flavored wings. Great place to end the night.

Such a fun place with great vibes! This area really needed a place like this! I went here a few times with my coworkers and it was always such a great time. I love the spicy soy garlic wings, which is served with fried, radish, and salad. These are some of the best wings I've ever had, no joke. The spicy marinated chicken is also so good - definitely add cheese and rice cake to it! They are blasting kpop here, which is always so much fun. The people who work are so great and always checking up on you. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area!

Really cute spot to have a couple of drinks and eat bar food. The chicken had a good crunch and we had a good time making rice balls.

Tbh, this place was fucking kicking with all the Kpop going on in here. After a few soju shots and beers you really be feeling you in a Korean chicken shop. The chicken was amazing with insane crunch, you can also pick your heat levels. They don't fuck around about it here so choose wisely! Lithe service was on point as the waitress was very helpful! I would def returned. Dank review 8.2/10

Chimak House - your number 1 place for beef bulgogi on a sizzling plate and the best soy garlic chicken wings in town! If you want rice, I recommend the D.I.Y. riceballs but I prefer to eat it the way it is and choose spam instead of kimchi riceballs!!! They open 500-1000pm. The restaurant is cozy! It is unique because the front is a sushi place with a different name. The back is Chimak House! You will not be disappointed!!! Order what you want but I like their filtered water and their hot tea. Tell me what you think. Enjoy the food and drinks!
