Cathay Chinese Food

Food is exactly what you expect. They have crazy big portions for the price. But the flavor is only okay, something's don't quite have the right taste.Service is quick and easy!

The chow mein was cooked perfectly and had a fantastic flavor.The cream cheese won tons are not made fresh they are refried and taste like it. They do not have green onion so are a bit too sweet. But honestly, I won't order again when I can go down the street and get fresh CC won tons with green onion. I ordered through grub hub and it took quite a while so had to reheat the food. Not the restaurants fault at all!

The food here is fantastic! My mom ordered food for my grandpa's birthday party. My mom is fairly new to the area and was so happy that there is a great mom and pop Chinese food place near by. Everything was fresh and delicious. The broccoli beef was my absolute favorite. My husband really enjoyed the Chow mein. The chicken options were also very tasty. Everyone at the party loved the food. Service is great, and they are already getting to know my family. Ambiance is classic old school mom and pop Chinese spot.

Went to this place for lunch and it was a bit disappointing. Fried rice and noodles were nothing special. I had a side of bbq pork and orange chicken both my sides tasted like semi reheated leftovers and they were kind of hard. Maybe I just got the last of the batch but either way probably won't be back

Have been coming here for a while now and the food and service are great. Got the two item meal to dine in and the price was $14.00, not bad for today's economy. The food is fresh and you get a lot for the price.

Give this place a try. I think the food is pretty solid!I usually order a là carte, so the food is made fresh. The lo mein is pretty average, but the meats!Beijing beef is my current favorite.Spicy garlic chicken is also delicious.Any of the shrimp dishes are flavorful.It seems to be run by a family, they are all very kind and friendly. Great service. My wife just picked up from there last night. We usually eat here every other week.I've never had any issues with the food or my stomach after eating.

Fast service, but only because this place was dead empty. We LOVE the one in Menifee (Any relation?) but, recently stumbled across this one when dropping off at the postal store. The food definitely does not compare to the other location, sad to say. The orange chicken was decent, but half of it was just bitty pieces of breading like they scraped the bottom of the barrel for the last scraps, the lo mein was bland, the beef broccoli tasted like straight up soy sauce, but the broccoli was good and not over cooked. The "hawaiian" chicken had a funky taste and I didn't like how the bbq pork aka charsiu had a sauce over it. All in all, the food was meh, won't go out of our way to eat here again and probably not even if we were in the area. Sorely disappointed seeing as how good the Menifee location is and always has been.

If your looking for a Panda Express this is a very close substitute. The setup is similar and food choices have some of the same menu items.I ordered the jalapeño chicken , not really spicy but the peppers themselves have just a little kick to it.

This is the worst Chinese food I've had in a long time and I also found small bones in my beef and broccoli, these bones would have been enough to pierce my throat. The food looked terrible and I should have left them also the soup taste just like oil and it very over priced.

I'm so happy to have found our new place! It doesn't look like much from the outside. I almost second guessed going, but once you are inside it's so nice! The people are in work mode there but they did take a moment to be sweet to my younger child.I tried the garlic chicken and it was honestly craveable! My daughter had the BBQ pork and loved it. We both had their bowls and they were large in size! Their white rice and fried rice tasted fresh too! We absolutely loved their almond cookies and jello too!The items that we didn't like that knocked off a star were:-chicken nuggets (burned and tasted recooked)-cream cheese wontons (didn't specify they were crab, very sweet, and the wonton had yellow food dye)-fortune cookies (tasted old, slightly soft/soggy, and made with yellow food dye)Will return again for sure, but I just won't get the above mentioned unsavory items. All in all, great place!
