Cathay Chinese Food

Cathay gives you a ton of food for $11.99!Actually, it's incredibly really. Large chucks of chicken, even larger pieces of BBQ Pork. The only reason this isn't a Five Star review is because the taste is missing something. It's not bland, just lacking in a signature taste. The flavor comes from the condiments. First, Five Stars for this family run business. They're very friendly and try very hard to remember you from previous visits. There are a few tables inside if you want to dine in, but this is basically a grab and go set up. We ordered two, three plate items last evening. We could have ordered just one, given the overly generous portions. Wow. Each styrofoam box seemed to weight three pounds each. That is not an exaggeration. They were huge! See photos. We will have leftovers for days to come. Get this, our tab including two egg rolls came to $31.78, including taxes!! Three and a Half Stars, rounded up to Four.

Cathay Chinese Food is, without a doubt, the best spot for Chinese food in Menifee. From their flavorful broccoli beef to their perfectly cooked almond chicken, every dish hits the mark. My family has lived in Menifee for 35 years, and we've been coming here for as long as I can remember--it's a family tradition at this point. The food is always fresh, and the flavors are consistently amazing. If you're a fan of that classic chop suey-style Chinese food, look no further because Cathay does it right every time. One of my all-time favorites is their vegetable egg rolls, which are crispy and packed with flavor, and the cream cheese wontons are to die for. Cathay has been a staple in the community for years, and it's easy to see why--it's the perfect spot for anyone craving authentic, delicious Chinese food. I highly recommend this place to anyone who hasn't tried it yet. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

I have been coming here for more than 30 yrs . A noticeable difference in portions this time I got a bowl full of rice with hardly any of my chosen entree . And before they would allow me to have two entrees (small portions of each) in a bowl and now they say only one entree . They were always known for their hearty portion sizes now with this economy it's gotten to them too.

Hubs and I split 3 item combo. Mushroom chicken, beef and broccoli, and kung pao chicken. Food to fill your belly, plenty of mediocre Chinese fast food that is. The kung pao was the worst of the three- sweet and not spicy and absolutely no resemblance to any kung pao I've ever had. Also ordered veggie and chicken egg rolls. Not good. Added a star for quantity but cannot recommend. These type of Chinese restaurants should really advertise as Chinese-inspired or better yet, Chinese uninspired.

Please save your money and DON'T EAT HERE!!!. Threw away two entrees. Found a roach in the noodles. I called the owner to let her know, was placed on hold and they hung up on me.

I was welcomed right away by a very nice lady. I ordered 3 items and it came with rice and noodles. She was kind enough to let me do half and half. I chose beef and broccoli, mushroom chicken and kung pao chicken. She did give me some suggestions. Also some things to try next time. She gave me some extra sauces to go to try as well. I have to say the food was hot and delicious. But the star was definitely the mushroom chicken! Very surprising. I would absolutely order a whole plate of it next time. Highly recommend!

I can't even give this place one star. Since the new people took over the food is very bad and dry tasting. New cooks do not cook good at all. I will never go there again. I loved the old owner, he had great great cooks and service. I will go to another competitor now. They don't even cook the food on the menu. They want to sell you something else . Also their food is not cooked complete, it's raw or over cooked. The orange chicken was raw.

I was so disappointed in this Chinese food place that we ordered food from we got the three entrées re-ordered orange chicken, teriyaki chicken and beef broccoli and cream cheese wontons. The only thing that I really enjoyed eating here was the cream cheese wonton dips with the red sauce. The orange chicken was so Brady. They put way too much bread and I barely can taste the chicken. It tasted so bland. I did not like the sauce for this. The beef and the beef broccoli was super salty and I really did like the broccoli only. im so sad that it didnt turn out to be good! the lo mein had a weird aftertaste! i will order from a different chinese restaurant next time unfortunately.

Best place ever!! I miss living here I shall be back soon enough I always stock up on the BBQ pork everything else is really good. It's just I have to pick and choose when heading back 5 hours back home. This place I highly recommend. The people have always been nice, the place is clean, and everything about the food is all around good. You really can't go wrong
