I spent the better part of two months trying to find local places that had chilaquiles that reminded me of when I got some when I was going into the office weekly. After my long search happened upon this gem and I have to say hands down the best chilaquiles I've had out this way. This is now the only place a frequent when I need chilaquiles in my life. Sadly I have not tried anything else on the menu because everytime I want to. I just keep thinking does it get better than chilaquiles. I think not. Staff is super friendly and helpful as well. 10/10!

Service: a little bipolar (started as a 1, then warmed to a 3)Taste: 3*Location: 3*Value: 2* (they charge for cilantro, onions and tortillas (any kind) either the menudoStopped by here on a Sunday, so that means menudo. We also had the coctail camaron, and tostada de ceviche.Once you added all the accompaniments the menudo was tasty. The tostada was quite limey but good. Not much fish to speak of, however. The coctail came in a soup bowl, which was interesting, but it was tasty. I would find someone where else to go next time.

It's our first time here and the food did not disappoint! We got the carne asada fries and carne asada nachos. Only thing I'd say was a negative was that there wasn't enough beans and asada on the nachos. We would go back for sure! The people who work here were very nice and the restaurant was nice and cozy. Glad we found this place!!

Amazing service. Everyone is always welcoming and kind. The food is great, this is my go to place to order traditional Mexican Caldo de pollo (chicken soup) when I'm sick, when my friends/family are under the weather, or whenever I'm craving it. It has the perfect homemade taste that is hard to find. The salsas are also some of my favorites.

08/19/2022Summary: Casa Cortez is a testament to the fact that: expensive fine dining is frequently not the best choice for great and tasty food. Casa Cortez is a little restaurant that some might call "a hole in the wall", but make no mistake about it: many Mexican restaurants make food that is considerably worse and more expensive. The albondigas tasted so traditional and beautiful, and the meatballs had great undertones of oregano(?). This is how you make a good Albondigas, and that medium salsa i poured into the soup was great. Its worth noting I have only tried their Albondigas and it cost $11.99 . Without further ado, lets start the review.I wasn't expecting much when I walked in. It's a small restaurant, from the outside, with more interior space than I had expected upon entering. I don't know Spanish and it was a difficult communicating with the staff, but they obliged themselves and made sure I got what I wanted. The staff were friendly and enjoyed working with each other, at least outwardly. The women behind the counter and kitchen put a smile on my face, and lovingly teased me as I asked what was in the meatballs. The Albondigas was beautiful and I really loved that they didn't go out of their way to mash unnecessary flavors together: they appreciate the beauty of a traditional soup and they didn't try to make it 'modern'. Mexico and South America are known for some of the best soups one could ever have, and it's wonderful to have come across someplace that didn't need to hide its origins or make it into something it wasn't. It was savory and the sweet carrots were proportioned correctly to balance the mild acidicness of the broth. The meatballs were delicious and the ladies in the back explained to me that they used Cilantro and Oregano in them, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was rosemary or one of the holy trinities of herbs instead.I can't wait to come back and sample more of their food, and I highly recommend that you try their Albondigas: this is how you make a good Albondigas. Thanks for the small banter of laughter and smiles, and the soup.Great soup and a simple affordable dining experience, will frequent in the future.

I ordered a carne asada burrito & it was eh. With the money I spent, I could've bought a better burrito at El Pollo Loco. The carne asada was chewy & fatty, the arroz was bland and lacked flavor. I had to drown the burrito in salsa verde to eat it.

The tacos here are really good. My go to is the tripa and the lengua tacos. The tripa is noticeably rinsed well, very very little earthy flavor, ask for it well done for that extra crunch. Their salsas and pickled vegetables are such a good complement to cut the richness of the tacos. Service is really nice, you will not feel like you aren't there, they will always greet you. Ambiance is nice, specially when they grill outside on the weekend.
