"Located at the plaza on University Ave/Chicago Ave, this is hands down our favorite spot for Mexican ice cream! We typically go for their popsicles (paletas) rather than ordering customized items like their fruit platters (sandia loca), or milkshakes (malteadas).The place can get pretty busy, and the lines can be a bit confusing. The popsicle line is near the entrance, while orders for other items need to be placed at the back of the store. The speed of service can be on the slower side, but trust me, the wait is worth it. They offer a great variety, and almost every flavor we've tried (and we've tried almost all of them!) tastes fantastic.The ambiance is a bit basic, so we typically take our items to-go and enjoy them later. In short, no day at the pool is complete without a stop here for their amazing ice cream. Highly recommend!"

I first found out about this place when a good friend recommended it, as I was craving a chamango. It's always been a go-to for me, when I have that craving! Tocumbos is located right off the Los Alamos exit from the 215 freeway. It's almost hidden in a corner of the shopping plaza with the Starbucks and post office. Parking is never a problem and the store is always clean. Employees have always been friendly. The last time I went in, I called before I went to be sure they were still open. You never know these days with the rona still lingering and Yelp sometimes doesn't have updated hours.The lady who answered obviously didn't speak a lot of English but I'm pretty sure she got the gist of what I was trying to ask. When I got there, she made my chamango even though she was getting ready to close up shop. I appreciated that she wasn't in a rush or tried to scoot me out the door. Some people do that (consider yourself blessed if it hasn't happened to you, lol).It was bomb as usual and it's a good size for what you get. I'll be coming more often again since the weather is warming up! Recommend them for all your chamango and similar cravings. You also need to try their cream cheese ice cream. YUMMM!!!"

This ice cream hit the spot! I got it in a small waffle cone. It was 3 scoops of white and chocolate mixed ice cream with some small peanut butter cup chips. It was an amazing treat on a little bit warmer day! I downed my ice cream super fast as I had to complete my 2fer at the Slice House located next door! I was literally finishing my ice cream cone as I was ordering inside the pizza place!Overall, a cool visit here, pun intended! There is no inside to eat in here, but some limited seating around outside. The place was very clean outside though. I can't wait to come back here again when passing through! So far, they don't have a discount ice cream day on Wednesdays or Thursdays like the ones in Upland and Rancho, but hopefully they will soon! They had tv screens with the menu and their products. We were looking for what we wanted but the menu keep changing and blinking literally every 30 seconds. We spend like almost five minutes trying to figure out what specific kind of Elote we we wanted since the screen kept flashing and changing. It was pretty annoying. The menu was in Spanish too which is completely fine but for non-Spanish reading/speaking people, it was hard to stare at a blinking screen and figure out what was what. We ended up just telling her Elote with everything. She made ours without wearing gloves which kind of concerned me but I tried to put that thought aside. For two small elotes in a cup, it was around $7. Super affordable and looked tasty. Upon trying it, it did satisfy some of the craving I had but not for long. There was too much liquid in our bowl and no lime juice. It didn't taste like how other elotes I've had. My friend and I got tired of the taste really quickly and tried to finish most of it since we already paid for it. Overall, it was just alright. I highly suggest them fixing their menu screens so it wouldn't change so often so customers can easily order and see what they have to offer. Would come for Elote again but maybe for their other stuff."
