Phil's is a tiny liquor store in a good location with the standard stuff you need to gear up for a night out in Chino Hills.The best part about Phil's is they will work with you on the price if you're buying a bunch of stuff. We were interested in some higher end tequila, and asked if they would give us a discount if we purchse two bottles. They were totally cool and gave us a fantastic offer!If you're in the area and need to pick something up quick, I would definitely recommend stopping at Phil's."

"I went here once to check it out when I first moved into the area. I was looking for for some wine, but we just kept trying to push some Indian beer at me, but I just wasn't interested in trying something new at the moment. I ended up leaving with a desert wine, which was fairly priced from what I remember. Still, I have to agree with another Yelper here that said the guy kept trying to push lotto tickets and other stuff at me in which I wasn't interested. It seemed as if he was trying to upsell me or he was desperate. Either way, I haven't been back since, the owner just weirded me out. Which is a shame, because the other liquor stores in the area (the swill at the nearby gas stations notwithstanding) or miles farther down the road. He also preferred not to take my debit card because of surcharges, which was understandable but severely limited my purchasing options."

"At the risk of being a wise guy, I almost gotta wonder whether Wine & Liquor Market has a crew that lays down spike strips at strategic Claremont locations to stimulate sales.Freakishly similar to another reviewer of this business, I pulled into a brightly lit parking space at 9:30 one Monday night with a blown-out tire sustained on westbound I-10, about a quarter-mile from Indian Hill Boulevard.(Addendum to "More business info": Pay Phone Yes)My first contact was with a young clerk who cordially gave me the address of the business so I could provide it to road service. While waiting, I could tell that this was not only a convenience store for random patrons, but a lifeline for guests at the adjacent Claremont Lodge.The road service tech arrived timely, and ably hooked-up my donut spare tire. I entered the store to shop around for something to buy as a tribute to the hospitality, and discovered a sale on Red Bull--the only way I'll buy it--and chose two flavors. Also had a pleasant chat with the manager/proprietor-type guy who had joined the clerk behind the counter. Then I noticed that the customer behind me was the road service tech, buying some snacks. Next day I got four new tires for the car. I had planned to get through the summer with the old set, evenly worn but low on tread. Turns out that blowout spiked the economy on several levels."

"Country Store Liquor isn't exactly out in the "country", unless you consider Corona to be the boonies, as some do.Anyway, like an old-fashioned country store, CSL does have that "barn" look that was in for a hot minute in the late 60s and early 70s, which is when this place must have been built.Both softcore and hardcore liquor are available here, at prices about 15% higher than you'd expect at a supermarket -- but c'mon, it's convenient. The country store proprietors (two Middle-Eastern guys, one surly and the other friendly) will not judge you as they wrap brown paper around your hooch -- nor will they ask you where you're going, dressed like a hoochie.Snacks, small household items (like a mini sewing kit or soap) are available, too, making this place an awful lot like a mom and pop 7-11, except with vodka, and with the mom and pop being two porn-mustached men who, while fabulous, could never actually be "FABULOUS..."If you're looking for lottery scratchers and 'ish like that you can get it here, too, so you can think of Country Store Liquor like a cut-rate casino in the middle of Corona.Oh, and yes -- unlike 7-11, this store sells porn.LOTS of porn. And I mean lots.They've got the softcore stuff on display, but if you like it raw, you've got to ask.-- NOT that I'd know..."
