BZ Taco

This place is a gem! First, the food: incredible! I've been waiting for a good vegan Mexican restaurant with seating and a bathroom. This place is so legit they even have pickled onions, salsas, and jalapeños that you serve yourself. The nachos are surprisingly good with asada. The tacos are great. And the ultimate challenge: the rice is bomb. Service, you order at the counter and the food comes quick. Very nice folks, family vibe ls. What else can you ask for?

Decent option for vegan Mexican food in the area! The 3 taco plate is a little over $15. Fairly sodium-forward because it's plant based meat and flavors are all a little similar and one-dimensional, so definitely add the salsas and lime! Rice is pretty good, beans are a little salty too. They have a self-serve free chip station which I've never seen before and thought was very kind of the owners! Very kind owners, if for nothing else, check them out to support them!

Okay, while I'm not a vegetarian guy, I appreciate all the health benefits of eating vegetarian. There are several studies about the Blue Zones, BZ, and their quality of health life and longevity. At BZ Taco, I was hard pressed to taste that this wasn't real meat inside our fried tacos and burrito. We picked up our order to go. We started with the Quesabirria. This is basically 2 fried tacos with a generous side of consumme (beef tasting dipping au jus). As you can see in the tacos' pic, they were fried but not crispy, deep fried. And you can see the generous amount of "beef". The "beef" had the requisite texture and chew of good qualify beef - I won't be asking "where's the beef?" (This is a generational fast food TV ad - it's funny, if you haven't seen it.) The consumme is runny but added a nice additionally bit of "beef" flavor (tip: this taco becomes messy after dipping, so plan ahead).We also had a "meat" burrito. This was a larger sized burrito and also had good textured artificial meat. The tortilla was good - the right amount of chew and resistance to sogginess. We liked what we ate. The natural Mexican flavors made the vegetarian "meats" tasty.

After a friend recently texted me a photo of this newly opened plant based Mexican restaurant, I knew I had it visit it immediately. Upon arrived the restaurant, I liked that it had outdoor seating available. Once inside, hubby and I were warmly greeted by one of the restaurant owners and felt relaxed by upbeat and rhythmic music playing in the background. While I looked at the menu, hubby shared with the male restaurant owner that he had a nut allergy and the owner replied only the horchata contains peanuts. Hubby also asked about the sauces for their taquitos and the owner replied that the taquitos come with green sauce, red sauce, or pineapple salsa.After looking at the menu packet available at the restaurant counter, I ordered a vegan chicken quesadilla and a vegan fish taco while hubby ordered a vegan asada burrito. Our food arrive quickly and hubby was surprised by how large and filling the burrito was. Although hubby is vegetarian (and they had traditional cheese available to put in his burrito if he asked,) he said he preferred the BZ vegan asada burrito without any cheese over his regular Chipotle's sofritas burrito.My vegan quesadilla was large and flavorful especially accompanied by salsa, lettuce, guacamole, and vegan creama. The vegan fish taco was perfectly sized and I was surprised that dispute it having house made chipotle sauce, it didn't set my mouth on fire.As we finished our meal at the restaurant we promised to definitely visit again soon since it is conveniently located in the same shopping plaza as Trader Joe's and Vons we either eat a meal at the restaurant first then go grocery shopping or visa versa. BZ taco is my go to Mexican food spot, their pozole is amazing and their elote fries are to die for. Customer service is always great, very friendly and gives amazing suggestions. Inside is very cute and has a salsa bar.

As a vegetarian, it can be hard to find exciting Mexican food. I miss street tacos so badly! But yesterday, I was able to enjoy them again at Bz Taco! I got the fish taco and the taco plate with al pastor, guisada, and chickin. Everything was amazing, flavorful, and authentic. I ate past the point of fullness because I didn't want to stop! The rice and beans that came with the taco plate were also delicious, and I loved all the salsas (the red was especially good). I had jamaica to wash it all down--so refreshing and not too sweet. Thank you for all you do, Bz Taco! I can't wait to try more of your menu!

Not your average Taco Spot. All Vegan PROTEIN options. But food is good. Did not expect to be eating Mushrooms with my posole but it was very Tasty. We ordered the quesabirria tacos, posole and carne asada sope. Very good.

10 Stars!!! The best vegan Mexican food ever!! Family owned, her mother was a restaurant owner in Mexico City. It was like a happy accident just driving by after leaving Trader Joe's and seeing a "plant based" Mexican restaurant.. I would come now before those lines around the corner!! So Happy!! And they have Horchata!!

The food and service were great. From what the owners said, the vegan proteins are not processed and all made there which is also why I'll go back. Hopefully they expand their menu though and add some salads.
