We don't write reviews on average places, only on horrible or great. We booked Bolsa BBQ for my son's graduation party and hosted 50 people.Bolsa BBQ is neither good or bad but it is EXTRAordinary. Kenny is a class act with great personality and outstanding attention to detail from point of contact, communication, punctuality, preparation, set up and clean up.Oh and I have not mention the quality of the food and more so the TASTE was amazing. I could write a review on each item but it would take too long, so I will make it simple. We had two types of ribs, chicken and sausage. Sides were cole slaw, baked beans, potato salad and corn on the cob. .Each item would blow any high end restaurant out of the water by a long shot.

First off, I am friends with the owners of Bolsa BBQ. Friends or not, this is an honest review of their food/buisness.Okay so, Bola BBQ is a catering company based out of Corona that uses a mobile rotisserie smoker unit to cater events around Orange County. They specialize in smoked ribs and meats for birthday/private/corporate/fundraising/festivals events. They even have a baby shower an a wedding under their belt. Although their motto is, "Smoke + Low Heat + Meats = Good Eats" they do a lot more than just BBQ, so just ask and they will cater the menu to your needs. They recently took 2nd place in the rib division at the Fountain Valley BBQ Bonanza this month. Now this is a big deal because they were up against 4 or 5 major competitive BBQ organizations that travel around the US attending and competing at these types of events. So congrats to them. Other events they partake in includes the Long Beach Lobster Festival, Tet Festival in Garden Grove and etc. The events are typically three (3) days and with each new day, they use different woods (ie. apple, cherry hickory and etc.) to smoke their meats to add an additional flavor profile on top of their own personal rub mix. So it's interesting to come back the next day to try out the new flavor profile and compare which wood flavor you prefer. I personally prefer the cherry over the apple because it has a slightly sweet fruity mild smoke flavor vs the apple which is also sweet but it is a bit denser in flavor profile in my opinion. The viscosity of their sauce is just right. Not too thick, not too thin. It is sweet, tangy and not too spicy. I personally like to have my ribs fall off the bone because it is easier to eat and less messy. So when I eat their pork or beef ribs I truly enjoy them because they are easy to consume due to the melt in your mouth feel. The ribs are super tender and juicy. For their sides at the events/festivals I have tried their BBQ beans and corn bread that are also smoked in the rotisserie. They are good and have a nice mouth feel. The cornbread is not dry and have actual bits of corn in them. The BBQ beans are yummy, perhaps it's the bacon they add to the dish. People do say bacon makes everything taste better. I never really ate their coleslaw since I am not big on veggies but I hear it's pretty good as well.At the OC Fair there was this guy selling "THE BIG RIB." When I first saw it online I was like "WHAT?!?!" but then I saw other photos posted online and I figured it was not what it claimed to be. My boyfriend ended up buying one at the fair it was good but it was weird how the bone in "THE BIG RIB" was sliced in half which by the way does not occur naturally in nature so I figured something was up. It was good but not something we'd get again. Bolsa BBQ's also had their version of the big rib called the "Dino" bone or the short rib. It was pretty darn tasty. I prefer this version over the OC Fair one. I was already stuffed from the pork ribs and the Nephew's pulled pork nachos which included beans, cheese, coleslaw and a drizzle of BBQ sauce so took the rib home and ate it the next day. It was still good and MASSIVE. That thing can feed at least 2 people easy, but in my case ONE, YUM-O. As for the nachos they used actual nacho cheese and not the shredded stuff so that is always a two thumbs up for me. Nachos are not nachos when restaurants use the shredded stuff. From time to time they offer turkey legs as well and they are pretty tasty. My orders have always been correct, hot and fast so no complaints on that end. They even offer "kids meals," which not all food vendors tend to cater to at festivals. Just remembered, I did have a taste of their whole suckling pig with mango salsa once. Now that was good! It was like their pulled pork sandwiches but better. The contrast in hot smoked suckling pig combined with cool sweet tanginess of the mango and peppers made the dish.If I were to compare Bolsa BBQ's food to other BBQ restaurants, I would say Bolsa BBQ is above average so 4 stars.I almost forgot, they also give FREE SAMPLES of their pork/beef ribs and pulled pork during the events. Make sure you stop on by and try them out. You will be hooked! It's always nice to be able to sample the product before you buy, it's like buying a car or clothes.

Thank You Bolsa BBQ! We recently had Bolsa BBQ cater our wedding. Not only are all the guests still raving about the BBQ (over a month later) but I can still taste the yummy ribs and the best cornbread I have ever had. I dont think I will ever enjoy BBQ again unless it is from Bolsa BBQ, I have officially been spoiled. On top of the amazing food Kenny showed up professionally to our wedding venue and the set up was beautiful. I want to get married all over again just to have the BBQ ( I will have to start hosting more parties). Thank you again for making our wedding PERFECT. Please never stop smoking/cooking.

Pure Awesomeness!!!A 5 star rating is an understatement. Kenny - the Pit Master and his team exceeded my expectation. Food was great, every single one of them. The pork ribs , chicken and sausage were tender, juicy and fall off the bone tasty. The beans, corn and coleslaw were out of this world good. And their French macarons is a Must-Try dessert. I know my guests were pleased because the food were all gone and Kenny ran out of business cards. The only regret I have is not saving some food for myself:(

I had the pulled pork nachos at the 626 night market. The price was reasonable and they were so delicious. My favorite food of everything my friend and I tried that night. Now my only problem is figuring out how to find them so I can eat MORE!

I work for a corporate company and we needed a catering BBQ place close to our clients location, After doing my research and calling around to several different catering places Bolsa BBQ had the best prices and Kenny was the easiest to talk to make reservations with, he is super easygoing and reliable, it was a good all around experience, our clients were very very pleased and the event had no hiccups or flaws, very impressive work I will be booking with them again very soon.

I catered Bolsa BBQ for my son's birthday party. The owner Kenny arrived early at my house with his mobile smoker and started prepping early in the morning. Kenny is very friendly and fun to talk to, I stood outside talking to Kenny most of the morning while he was preparing the awesome BBQ for the party. The food was a hit at my party. Everyone complimented the food and we were very pleased with the turn out. I WILL be catering with Kenny in the future when we are hosting another event.

I have had the opportunity to have eaten Kenny's excellent BBQ twice and I would highly recommend this professional caterer. The food is so delicious, ribs just melt in your mouth, the chicken and sausage are so tender and tasty. The corn, beans and cornbread were awesome. What can I say about the salads except they were extremely fresh and absolutely outstanding, I went back three times. I am just trying to think of what event I can have next to be able to experience this wonderful food fest again!!!

This review is long overdue but I've had 2 parties catered by Bolsa BBQ and they were probably the easiest and best parties I've ever had because was the food and service was amazing and I didn't have to cook! Food at parties is my #1 priority and Im so glad there are caterers like Kenny out there to offer something unique, satisfying, filling, and delicious to my guests. Im not a big fan of taco stands and wanted something different at my parties. The bbq beef ribs, pork ribs, corn with rosemary butter, coleslaw, and baked beans are wonderful and he actually has rig to cook all his meats with a nice presentation. If you've been to Phils BBQ in San Diego, Bolsa BBQ is comparable or even better.Kenny, the owner is an absolute pleasure to work with and delivers 100%. The professionalism, service, presentation, and food is all worth it. If you want a stress free party with great food to satisfy your guests, Bolsa BBQ is your caterer hands down. I think they also offer some deserts including French Macarons which is a special treat if you want a desert stand or simple deserts. Now I just have to wait for a special occasion or party so I can book them again.
