Berkley's Backyard BBQ

Yo. Y'all sleeping on Berkley. I'm hesitant to leave this because I don't want him to be booked up months in advance and he may not be available if I need him. But nonetheless, I must share the IE's best kept backyard bbq secret. Let me start by saying he's a DOPE dude. Fun, kind, great communicator (which is key if you're planning a party), and reasonably priced. He catered my mom's 70th bday and his set up, energy, music, full on smoker, professionalism, and most importantly, his FOOD, was a hit. We had pulled pork, chicken, bbq baked beans, potato salad (my personal fave), bread rolls, a green salad, max & cheese, and lemonade. And *chefs kiss* it was all delicious. Not only was it delicious, but Berkley and his team member Adam had a professional set up, provided the chafing dishes, plates, silverware and napkins, served us, AND even had cute decor. Bonus - they played filipino music! (We're filipino!) and we busted out some karaoke!The food was excellent and as someone with high standards, the part that blew me away was the full service. In other words, he took care of everything that had to do with the food and what a huge weight off my planning shoulders. Berkley for life! And shoutout Adam!

Berkley catered a recent party for a 70th birthday and all I can say is: w-o-w. Not only was he responsive, accommodating, and genuinely kind, he and his associate Adam cooked some of the best BBQ I have had in the last 10 years. We were in a bind for catering and Berkley came through with a fire menu for an affordable price. The menu spanned, meat (pulled pork and BBQ chicken), sides (Mac n' Cheese & baked beans & potato salad), salad, and dinner rolls; all of it was a hit with everyone at the party. Aside from the food, Berkley brought 10/10 vibes, a considerably large smoker, easy up, and Karaoke! He was slapping tunes all day and I always felt welcomed and comfortable any time I came out to chat with him. He came in early and cooked on site, which was massively helpful, knowing that there was not even a delivery/pickup needed. They prepared all the food and served the entire party. I highly recommend going with Berkley (and Adam) for any of your gathering needs. I know this won't be the last time I contact him! Big ups again to Berkley and can't wait for the next party.

Only if we can give him 100 out of 5 star rating I'd give him a 100. I swear I don't really like to give yelp reviews unless I have a complaint. Lol. But, with Berkley's BBQ, I have none. Food was superb! Service was 100 percent what we were hoping for, and he went above and beyond with our expectations. A lot of our guests been praising us about the food, like how good it was and a great choice. We got a lot of guests cancellation due to being positive on Covid, but we didn't have much left over.

I stepped out of my comfort zone by using a catering service that wasn't recommended. I read and talk to several catering services but chose Berkeley's Backyard BBQ due to his commitment to his craft and customer service attitude. Barkley's delivered on everything promises and the food was praised by all party goers! Highly recommended!

My nonprofit organization host an Anniversary Luncheon on Sunday, Oct. 17th in Yorba Linda to raise moneyfor the homeless. As you can see from the invoice, we paid $1800 for 60 people for a Soul food menu (BBQ Ribs and Chicken, yams, no pork collard greens, salad and rolls). What we got was a rip off. Our BBQ Ribs was some awful tasting pull pork, dried chicken breast, mushy can sweet potatoes, dried beyond sausage, salad, and rolls. This was a poor excuse for a soul food menu. This man is suppose to be in business preparing soul food meals but he did horrible job with our meal preparation. When I confronted him about the meal, he had every excuse you could think of. He didn't apologize or make any compensation about it. We had vegetarians attending and he assured us it would be pork free and lied about that as he did about the whole meal. All I can say is "buyer beware!" This guy is a fast talker and con man, Berkley. Don't be taken in by his lies.

I'll never know if it's good or not. I'm on a strict carnivore diet and wanted to buy just meat. They wouldn't sell it that way. Ok, their choice. As I was walking away the owner said they sell tri-tip by the pound on Fridays. I went back today (Friday) and the cook said he couldn't sell me tri-tip by the pound because the boss hasn't bought a scale. The boss wasn't there. They've wasted my time twice. There won't be a third time.

Berkley catered my baby shower! Food was amazing, everyone could not stop talking about how delicious it was!

Berkley makes the best smoked chicken and Mac N Cheese I can remember eating. His bbq sauce is also amazing! I took leftovers home and my family wanted him to cater our Christmas dinner. His food is awesome and his friendly personality makes everyone smile. I highly recommend him!!!!! Oh, and his prices are reasonable as well.

Berkley catered my daughter's sweet 16 for 150 guests this past weekend. The food was amazing and everyone at the party raved about how juicy the chicken was, how flavorful the tri-tip was and the mac n cheese was superb. We even came home with some leftovers. I highly recommend him he did not disappoint.

Berk is the absolute best. He handled a wedding of 75 like a champ. The food was incredible, everything was hot and delicious. My niece keeps asking how do we get the chicken from the wedding. Don't hesitate, book Berk!
