American Legion Robert Allen Romo Post No 422

Great experience. Great service, attitudes, and camaraderie amongst Veterans, Depemdents, Auxillory, and guest. Great place for Karaoke.

Love this place. Staff is awesome. I first came here with my boyfriend on our second date for karaoke and since then its become a regular place for us. I'm not a member but everyone is so welcoming and friendly.

It is unfortunate that I must write yet another bad review of the American Legion Post 422. I have tried to transfer my membership back into Post 422 on several occasions over the last 3 years only to be struck down. On 10/29/2016, as a member of Post 422, I wrote an honest review of this organization's leadership. A review, that to this day is held high over my head. You see, the so called leadership has stated, "You will never be a member here unless you take down your post". So, here I am, to write yet another honest review of the incompetence, lack of leadership, lack of professionalism, lack of doing what's right for the American Legion, putting themselves and their ego first and foremost before the membership, and so on...... By delivering such an ultimatum, these examples of incompetence, and that's what they are, are telling Membership to "shut up". If you say anything negative about Post 422, you WILL face retribution. Unbeknown to these individuals, I actually already had the below letter typed up and in my car just yesterday to deliver to the amazing Members of 422. Post 422 is a great place, the Membership is made up of amazing people, the vibe is great, its the actions of leadership that truly hurts the place.The interesting part of my words from almost 5 years ago, is that, even if I was elected into office, I would not take that review down. As a Leader, I would use it, use it as an educational tool. My words to my fellow members of Leadership would be: "Under OUR leadership, at no time will we ever provide a reason for one of our members, a guest, or any human being that walks through our doors, a reason of any kind, no matter how slight, to ever say such words. For if any such person feels the need to speak negatively of us, or our actions,....... than we have failed. We have failed this organization, and we have failed our membership." Should negative words be spoken under our Leadership, I would move to find out why, and what WE can do to not provide the reason again for such actions. I would NOT attack the individual....... That is what LEADERSHIP is about.Tonight, I will complete yet another transfer form.....and I will continue to do so every single month........until these individuals actually choose to put Post 422, and its membership, FIRST. And each denial, shall be met with yet another honest review of their incompetence.____________________________________________________________"Dear Membership:In the last month, I have been told by our current members that I should run for Commander of Post 422. I was told I would be a very good Commander of our precious Post and that I would carry out the needed changes required to continue our favorite family watering hole. I have also been approached to run for Adjutant in the coming elections, the most important position within an American Legion I was told.I want you all to know, that should I choose to run for any position within our Post, your Post, that I will put the best interests of our Post first, the best interests of those I serve first. I promise to you, that I will make the absolute best decisions I possibly can.....for you. I promise to listen to our members, to solicit your input on recommendations for ways to improve our home, and to solicit your feedback on the current performance of myself and others that serve you. I promise that you all will have a voice, and that when you share your voice, the good, the bad, and the ugly, that I will listen. You will not be shunned for your voice nor face retribution for speaking. I pledge to keep "my fingers on the pulse" of Post 422 and if needed, render fact-based course corrections along the way. Ultimately, I will serve my position by serving you.It is with disappointment however, that I convey to you, that I cannot "currently" run for any position within our remarkable Post, as I am not currently a member of Post 422. This is a decision made by our current leadership a long, long time ago. You see, approximately 6 years ago, I raised my voice to those in leadership roles of Post 422. A voice, that many of you, agreed with then, and continue to agree with now. As an unfortunate result, of my harsh but truthful words, I was forever exiled by that leadership.In life, sometimes the truth does hurt, but it's how you respond to it that makes you a great leader.....and an even better person. This place is amazing!! My boyfriend is a member and thankfully introduced me to this place tonight. It's officially by far a new favorite! As you walk in you're greeted by pretty much everyone in the bar. We paid 7 dollars for two 35oz beers. They have my favorite angry orchard on tap!! 25 cent games of pool and it's close enough for a cheap taxi ride from my place. This is the place for a great night! :D

Love the staff great food and beer. Friday night steaks are the best......can't wait to go back. The onion ring are great

I wish I could be there again on Memorial Day services. I was there for about 20 years before I retired and was proud of the most important day of the year. I served with the Marine Corps in Vietnam.
