To be fair, I am unfamiliar with Salvadorian food, so I defer to those who rave about this restaurant. First of all, do not eat there during the summer. It's hot and even hotter inside, even with the fans. My wife and I were very uncomfortable. Many customers came by, picked up their food, and left. It's also a tough hood. We sat by the front window, which has several BB gun bullet holes in it. I live nearby, so I know the area is okay in the daylight, but I don't spend too much time out in the evening around there. The food is tasty. I ordered two pupusas, which was more than I needed. My wife ordered flautas, which she felt were more like taquitos than flautas. The meals were served with a small serving of cole slaw, probably a Salvadorian appetizer or side dish.Parking is ample. You order and pay inside at the window and sit down. A server brings your food to you when it's ready.

Before I talk about the food there are some inconsistencies I have to address. Online the dishes are cheaper than in person. Save money and order online and pick up instead. As usual I got the foreigner tax where I get charged a phantom up charge to order. And people that came in after me got their food before I did.I recommend ordering in instead of ordering out. The food is put in styrapfoam and always melts into the food and makes it almost inedible. The quality of their papayas is amazing. They make them to order so they are always hot and fresh. I was a little disappointed because they didn't fill them like they use to, and they didn't make my order correctly. I got 4 revuelta which is a combo of pork beans and cheese. Sadly mine only had the pork inside and I really did miss the beans and cheese. I use to live in San Bernardino and would come at least once a month, but stopped for some of these reasons mentioned above. Still willing to give them another shot next time I'm in the area but I was a little disappointed they messed up my order after all that wait.

The owners are friends of ours and they have cooked for us in their home, when they opened their restaurant I was so excited because their food is authentic and amazing! Be prepared to wait for your authentic home cooked meal, it takes time to perfect the Pupusa and they have done that! The family is kind and provides great service, our favorite day to go is on Wednesdays because the Pupusas are discounted! We love Ofelia's cooking, such a g of a restaurant!

Once each year, I get together with three friends I've known for more than three decades, to play a round of golf and eat a meal together. While our lives (and golf games) have changed dramatically over the past 35 years, the spirit of our annual tradition has not. This year, our golf round was played at a course in San Bernardino. After a nice day looking for my ball, the four of us started looking around for a nearby place to grab some good food.A cursory search of Yelp turned up Alpha Pupuseria... something about a big fluffy cornmeal pupusa, filled with meats and cheeses, just sounded like the right way to top off a great day with friends. Just a short drive from the course, we parked on the street and walked towards the restaurant: Alpha has street front location in a small mini-strip mall, sort of next to another mini mall and across the street from another mini-mall.But it is worth finding, friends... I've been to plenty of pupuserias in my hungry life, and these are among the best I've ever enjoyed. We walked in to tue small dining room, and the place was essentially empty-- maybe ten tables, a TV playing a Spanish language game show reminiscent of the old Sabado Gigante, some modest Salvadorean decor, and a small order window with a makeshift plexiglass shield looking right into the kitchen. The proprietor smiled as we walked in, and motioned us to the small menu taped to the order window. We ordered a variety of pupusas: Revuelta, Chicharron, pollo y queso, and frijoles. We saw a woman get to work on the hot griddle, making our meals, as we sat down at the table. Tall, ice cold glass bottles of Coca Cola helped pass the time while we waited...When our food was brought to the table, the pupusas were larger than I thought they'd be. A healthy side of curtido (that's sort of like Salvadorean Cole slaw, Mildred) joined our plates on the table, along with a squirt bottle of salsa roja. We slathered our respective plates in both, and mawed. Delicious.Nothing pretentious here-- plastic utensils and a stack of paper napkins on the table-- but I'm telling you, I WILL GET OFF THE FREEWAY TO SIDE TRIP THIS RESTAURANT the next time I'm heading to Arrowhead, Hemet, or points east! They were that great. The modesty of this little shop is the perfect complement to its awesome fare. Can't wait to come back.

Bad service! We did a phone call order and lady was really rude. They always look bothered when you pick up your food at the restaurant. Pupusas are really good. But is just the employees that make it frustrating at times.
