Aloha Kona Hawaiian BBQ

I have been coming here for several years as this is one of my daughter's and my favorite places to eat. We've dined in, ordered takeout, and have done a couple of catered orders from here. Yesterday I was able to meet up with a friend and introduced her to this place. It's in the shopping center just north of the 210 fwy off the Haven exit in Rancho. Other places close by include... September's, McDonald's, Handel's, and Corky's. You gotta be patient in finding parking as this shopping center gets busy and full! It's a small restaurant, the cashier lady is very nice, and I like that you can refill your fountain drinks and get your own sauces. It's a clean and cozy place and they play soft Hawaiian music. This particular day was Valentines so they played love songs. Now for the foods! I ordered the BBQ Chicken and fried shrimp. All meals come with white rice, cooked green cabbage, and the really good macaroni salad. I love this macaroni salad because they don't put onions or celery!!! The BBQ Chicken has great flavor. The Teriyaki and Katsu sauces both go well with it. It's also good to add a little Sriracha sauce to make the sauces spicy! I also had a couple pieces of my friends BBQ beef. This is my favorite of all the entrées here, the Beef! My friend and I had a peaceful relaxing time here. I will always come back here. I have another friend who was already interested in coming here with me soon! On the next visit I will most likely get the #2 Hawaiian bbq mix. For a smaller meal they have the $10.99 value bowl with fountain drink. They also make some great Slush and Smoothies! I love the caramel Latté smoothie the best! Aloha!!!

In the same shop center as Traders Joe and Vons grocery store. Parking lot is shared amongst other local shops in the area. Parking here during lunch our rush was a bit challenging. Order at the counter, food is served in a togo styrofoam container for dine in and take out . Clean Seatings with table and chairs, self service sauce and drinks station fully stocked. The Korean short ribs bbq meat combo was delicious comes with chicken bbq, beef slices , macaroni cheese, rice and steamed cabbage. Huge portion , I couldn't finish it had to take half of my food home . My only gripe , I should have asked for a new steamed cabbage. Mine were so mushy . My friend's cabbage had the perfect crunch texture and looked freshly made. While mine looked a bit off tan in color.

I'm definitely a novice when it comes to Hawaiian food, so I have no sense as to how "authentic" it is, but I really do like what I've ordered. That would include chicken katsu, macaroni salad and spam musubi, because my body is a temple and it's important that I only ingest the healthiest foods. Ok, that was a huge ass lie.The staff her is ridiculously nice.

Friendly staff, excellent service. Food was delicious and good portions. Definitely reminds me of Hawaii.

This is a hidden gem in Rancho! If you like Hawaiian bbq you will love this place. I had the short ribs and you can tell the quality by the thick cut they serve. I will be back!

Sean's the Chicken or have condiments to let guest season it. The rice was cold as the drink. Read my honest review! I work to hard to throw my money away .

Can I just start this off with an Oh My Goodness! WOW! This food is amazing!My wife and I just happened to stop by and we were so glad we did. The chicken was so tender that it fell apart when I touched it with my fork. One bite and the flavor, I was in love. I was afraid to try the beef because it was obviously going to be a let down after that bite of chicken, but double OMG! It was just a tender and flavorful as the chicken. They have teriyaki sauce available, but they didn't need it. My wife had the same experience. As we were leaving she said she was so happy after eating here.The service was fast and very friendly.It's a little older spot but clean and comfortable with seating inside and out.If you like Hawaiian BBQ this place is a must try!

This is the best Hawaiian BBQ I've had that's local to me! The meals are very fairly priced since you get large meals that are of amazing quality!I got a mini plate which includes your meat of choice with a scoop of rice and Mac salad. I chose the teriyaki chicken and it was tender and fresh. I love how they have a teriyaki and katsu sauce station where you can help yourself. The spam musubi was good and I loved dipping it in some teriyaki sauce. Their lychee slushee was also so refreshing on a hot day and the boba was pretty good too. I think the only thing that was just okay to me was the Mac salad as it had too much of a vinegary flavor to me.The staff there are so sweet and friendly. I believe it was the owner who took our order and you can tell how much she cares about her restaurant's business.The place is a bit small with about several tables available for seating, but it looked like a lot of people were doing to go orders. There is also a men's and women's restroom available in the back. Parking is available as they share the parking lot with the other businesses in the Trader Joe's shopping center.

the sweetest service!! everyone was so friendly and all the to go food was packed so well. they also have reserved take out/to go parking spots which is helpful since it's a busy area. the lychee smoothie was incredible - not too sweet but so tasty! the portions were massive and everything was really good. the katsu wasn't too greasy and the mac salad was buttery.
