Although the food did take a little bit longer, I would have to say the quality of food made up for it. We also got a free tiramisu. Highly recommend the dates and any of the pasta dishes. Drinks are freshly made!

café Alegro, Upland California Very strange place. We checked in and were told that the wait was a whopping two hours. I'd say about 25 minutes later we were seated. There was inside and outside seating and there were lots of tables in both places. They put us outside. The heater were just so-so, it was a chilly evening and so we froze our butts off and wondered why we were outside when there were so many tables inside. We didn't get any knives or forks or plates and when the food arrived, given all the waiting, we just ate it from the serving plates and scavenged for knives and forks (that looked unused) from other tables. The lady checked on us occasionally (apologized for forgetting the plates) but they were just not on top of it. In addition, comically, there was a light that just kept going on and off for a long period of time. It would come on for something like two or three minutes and it was super bright almost like a security light and then it would go off and we'd sit there in the dark. And then after maybe 10 minutes or so the light would come back on all by itself and blast us again! We managed to maintain our sense of humor during all of this but the whole operation just seemed scattered, chaotic and unsatisfactory. Although the food was really good, given everything else, we will not be in a hurry to return.

Great little small place, we have been here a few times. My favorite is the pesto pasta, delicious, pesto sauce really good. Garlic cheese bread we ordered because they ran out of the bread basket, but not too bad... The service however was very slow. The waitress took forever on everything. And she didn't even come back for the 2nd half of our meal, we had to ask another waitress where she went off, and I guess it was her break we were like thanks for letting us know. Overall not a bad place for food and drinks, happy hour is great, just need to work on service.

LOCATION: At the heart of downtown Upland, Allegro is the center and there are parking spots in downtown but may be harder to find on busier days. We didn't have a hard time finding parking, it's pretty spacious. SERVICE: We called in to make a reservation and it was pretty simple and had no wait when we got there. It seemed pretty busy that night as well so I would recommend making a reservation if you can. Service was great! We had Sam and she was very accommodating and checked on us frequently. Everything was fairly timely, not too fast or too slow. Weekend service may be a little more busier. The ambience inside is great and has a Spanish lowly dimmed setting. FOOD: the portions were a lot bigger than I thought! I got the chicken parm and it was generous! I usually eat my plate and my wife's leftovers but it filled it me up. The first one was a little burnt and they were accommodating in making a new one. The surprise was the bacon wrapped figs! They were delicious! Take advantage of their happy hour with discounted appetizers and their weekly specials. I got a glass of wine for $7 as the Wednesday special. The ahi was great and the crème brûlée did not disappoint as the finishing touch. If you are in Upland or surroundings areas and looking for a great ambiance restaurant with generous food, highly recommend giving Allegro a try once!

Came in for lunch .Had the half soup and sandwiches.Everything was good only a little pricy.$53.00 for a light lunch is pricy .

Food is good but service is a little under staffed and slow. They used to serve complementary bread but not anymore. You have to ask for it and they charge extra.

Ive been here at least 4 times and the food has always been great. The portions are big and packed with flavor! The ambience is very romantic as the lights are dim and the tables have candles. I definitely recommend this place for dates!The only reason for the one star is due to the tables. Two out of the four times I've been here I always get an uneven table that moves whenever something is placed on it. Besides that, the service and food 5/5

Pretty good food and a nice ambiance inside. I went for my birthday dinner and I had a good time. It was really filling. Even the bread in the beginning came in a hearty amount and it had three different breads which was fun to eat. The pasta was good. The service was really good and they were very nice to us.

The Valentine specials were delicious and our server, Samantha, was everything she should be. For dessert we shared the molten lava cake which was rich, smooth and again delicious. Definitely would return. 5 for sure!

The pasta was tasty solid 8/10 the service was also solid. I feel like the ambiance overall was kind of lacking due to the fact that it's in the middle of a ghost town which is downtown Upland. Felt like we were going to get mugged.
