Allegro - La Verne

The Fettuccini Alfredo - $17 Express Lunch Special - comes with hefty, juicy, pan-seared chicken laid upon firm, bountiful fettuccini noodles doused in freshly melted, creamy parmesan cheese. It's a cheese lover's delight. The beverage also comes included! Coupled with the intimate, romantic aesthetic, Allegro - La Verne delivers exceptional value for such decadent Italian food. However, Allegro - La Verne can be easily nitpicked. Not all menu items are good value. For example, the calamari appetizer ($17) is delicious but extremely tiny! Most calamari resembled the size of Cheerio cereal bits (Photos Attached). Horrendous value if ordered without the Happy Hour deals. In addition, the menus were all smudgy and old; the tiny plates have smudged watermarks from improper drying; complimentary bread is not offered; and the limited, friendly staff rarely check-in on the guests. Allegro - La Verne attempts to portray themselves as fine dining, but its resources are too limited and stretched thin to reach that aspiration. Regardless, Allegro - La Verne is an absolutely wonderful location for delectable, quality Italian meals for lunch. The beautiful, romantic location is filled with college students in business casual attire and elderly office workers due to such stellar lunch deals.I arrived on a weekday (around 1PM). They offered indoor and outdoor patio seating, and I'd chosen to dine outside. Romantic, slow music echoed from the speakers. Instrumental and Italian songs played gently. The waitress (Katherine) is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful when available. Katherine never provided her name, but it was listed on the receipt. Katherine happily explained the menu items in extensive detail, and Katherine spoke with a pleasant smile and upbeat demeanor. Unfortunately, it appears all servers appeared to only order, drop food, and leave. It's difficult to find any staff otherwise.I ordered the Calamari ($17) and the Fettuccini Alfredo Express Lunch ($17). The Express Lunch comes with a beverage; I selected Passion Iced Tea.The Passion Iced Tea arrived in one minute and 30 seconds. It's unsweetened and refreshing. The Calamari arrived in 11 minutes and 30 seconds. As mentioned prior, the portion arrived dinky and small at $17. Thankfully, it was breaded well and tasted fresh. The Fettuccini Alfredo arrived at the 20 minute mark. And as mentioned prior, it's spectacular![Note: The Express Lunch (11AM to 3PM) is offered Monday to Friday. The location is also near a public parking lot. In addition, there's plenty of nearby street parking.]Overall, Allegro - La Verne offers spectacular Express Lunch Specials with a romantic ambiance. Allegro was the perfect spot for our team's holiday celebration--festive vibes, great ambiance, and plenty of good food... well, for those of us who had a seat! Unfortunately, our dear colleague (who shall remain nameless... for now) apparently skipped math class because she miscounted the RSVPs. The result? A game of musical chairs, but with entrees instead of music. I sincerely hope this makes it onto her next performance review.Food-wise, opinions were mixed but generally positive. I went with the lasagna, which had great flavor but could have been a touch hotter. Maybe it was just mirroring the lukewarm reception we gave our seating arrangement? Other dishes around the table looked good, and the service was friendly despite our spatially challenged situation.All in all, Allegro is a fantastic place to celebrate--just double-check your headcount before you book. Or better yet, give your reservation-maker an abacus as a stocking stuffer

Our food arrive 1hr 5min after orderingNo butter with bread basket. I requested it and got frozen butter. No variety of creams for coffee. whole milk only. Understaffed. And it was cold inside. Better temperature outside in February than inside.

We came in for a little Italian dinner in old town La Verne. The outdoor seating was relaxing and cozy. The menu was traditional Italian items and the wine list was decent. Hubby had a Vesper martini and he was glad the bartender knew how to make it. I had a bottle of Rose to myself. For food we had bruschetta, sausage pasta and baked pasta. Everything was so comforting in large portions. Italian food is one of my favorite foods so I enjoyed it very much, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. A great Italian place we will visit again whenever we are in this area!

Came here for a nice dinner on a weeknight and had a great experience. We got seated quickly and ordered a few drinks. The drinks themselves were alright, they were more strong than anything. I ordered the Pomegranate Martini and it was just a bit too sour for my liking. I ordered the Fettuccine Carbonara and it was out of this world. The pancetta they used was super crunchy which had a nice contrast to the egg they had on top of the pasta. I was savoring every bite because I loved it so much. Our waitress was really sweet as well. Can't wait to come back again!

I'm sorry to give a bad score. Those who read my reviews know that I'm very objective about my review. The service is very good and our server was very nice. The cocktails were great. The Linguini with clams was very good. The seared ahi I ordered was not 'seared' at all, but over cooked (you can see in the photo), I could only eat 2 pieces. You may be thinking why didn't I send it back. I have been in the hospitality business for over 40 years and one piece of advice is to be careful when sending food back. You may get something extra back, if the person doesn't appreciate the food being sent back. Not saying this restaurant would do anything like that. It's just a personal choice not to send anything back, hoping that the manager or server would recognize that the meal was not eaten. I report this with the hope that this will be a teachable moment. Maybe I should have ordered something more Italian, but I believe if a restaurant has an item on the menu, then it should prepare all the dishes to best. The arugula salad that accompanied the meal was excellent. Bread service is an extra charge,but was worth it.There's plenty of street parking and there's a parking lot across the street. I hope to return and have a better experience and update my review. Please support small businesses.

We celebrated an amazing anniversary dinner here in our local downtown neighborhood. We were quickly seated with indoor or outdoor options. It was a nice evening and the street side table was nice. The meal came out quickly along with some delicious bread and glass of wine . Unfortunately the bread was not complimentary but it was delicious. I definitely felt we received quality service, food, and ambiance for a special occasion. Cheers!

The food is amazing! Pasta, bruschetta and wine was all so good. Great service too!If you like Pesto, get the pesto pasta, I didn't get it but wish I did after tasting my husbands!

Went in for lunch with some coworkers last Tuesday the food was great but what made the experience amazing was the waitress kristin! she was so attentive to our needs and has an amazing personality we will definitely be coming back just to see her!:)

Went in on a Sunday the waitresses were super busy and it was cold. We sat inside and they got my steak wrong but other than that it was good. They downsized on their dates for their bacon wrapped dates. Wine was good as well. Wish the customer service was a little better.
