The food is a C+ B- for me, the service and ambiance are a solid B-. Its very similar to Azteca the standard mexican food establishment, the best mexican in south king county can be found at Montezuma's theirs one in Seattle, South Center and Tacoma. Their a solid A in my opinion, although I am a gringo, so what do I know?

TLDR/ Price: Reasonable, Cleanliness: Solid, Food: Tasty, Verdict: Must go! We decided to eat here on the recommendation of my neighbor and we were not disappointed. There are a lot, and I mean a lot, probably more than, 7, no 10 different Mexican restaurants in Auburn. Most of them are sit down, but none of them has better service or value than Rio Blanco. Our server Felipe, was courteous, quick, and attentive. Our appetizer was out in less than 10 minutes and the queso dip was piping hot and so gooey-good! Even without the queso, their chips and salsa would make me come back again! The salsa is king, like if there were a salsa contest among all the sit down Mexican restaurants in Auburn, I know they would win hands down. Seriously, I ended up getting two to go portions, one for me, and one as a thank you for my neighbor, who suggested we dine here. Our meals came out quickly too, which is great if you are on a time schedule. I bet this place is a stellar lunch option! My hubby ordered the Pollo a la crema and I ordered the three enchilada plate. Both were exactly as you would hope them to be. The succulent chicken, sat amidst sliced green peppers, quartered button mushrooms and chopped onions in a bath of mildly spiced creama. The enchiladas were filled with a well seasoned picadillo, enrobed in sauced corn tortillas and blanketed with melted cheese. In all, a glorious meal, filled with joy, and seasoned with love. This place is well cared for, and the people who work here love their customers. What really made this place shine though was their attention to detail. Felipe made sure our beverages were refilled several times and that we didn't have to wait to ask for anything. He checked in with us and made sure we were happy at every course of the meal. For dessert, we ordered the house made flan and the fried ice cream. The small bowl of custard was topped with hand whipped cream and a cherry, the bath of caramel the usually gets left on the plate, was waiting at the bottom of the bowl to be scooped up with a spoon. The homemade whipped cream cascading down the cornflake-crusted softball-sized scoop ice cream was covered in rivulets of chocolate and strawberry drizzle and rather than being melty inside (a common problem with fried ice cream), stayed mostly frozen (probably due to its size) until we were finished. This was by far the best dinner out I have had with my spouse in quite some time. The service, cost, and food quality were all better than expected and left us satisfied but wanting more. We will be back, for salsa, for Felipe, and for dinner or maybe lunch. You would be crazy not to make this your go to Mexican spot in Auburn.

Came in on a Saturday night for the first time. Staff was pleasant and polite, although I never got a refill until I asked for one, and the restaurant was spacious if not a bit outdated. My Chimichanga was kind of small and only comes with baby shrimp, but tasted good nonetheless. I really liked my husband's tacos Al carbon, the flavor was good and the meat was tender. I also liked the beans and rice, despite looking dry. The tortilla chips were good too, even though the salsa was very bland. I feel like we got a good sized amount of food and it appeared to be fresh. I would recommend.

Absolutely incredible food. My husband were on an anniversary trip and came here for dinner. I had fajitas and they were amazing. The waiter was incredible and laughing and joking with us the whole time. It's cozy and quaint and worth the trip!

Food was delicious! We have been here 20 years ago food was horrible! Tonight the food was delicious the carne asada was cooked perfectly and seasoned good. I had the chicken enchilada with rice and beans was good the sauce was not. The chips and salsa were ok too much cilantro in the salsa chips were not fresh kk da stale. Restaurant is very clean bathroom as well. Will try them again . It's next door to the brand new dollar tree that used to be Bartells. Parking is good .

The servers are very nice here and the food is definitely better than Puerto Vallarta. That said, everything seems to be getting ridiculously expensive, even Mexican food. Our bill for two was nearly $100.
