Cool ambience, tasty drinks. Bummer that they ran out of the crab dip and creamy tahini dip. The old fashioned comes with a cool cube of ice. Bartender made my margarita spicy for me. Great deal for $8. Hubby said old fashioned was flavorful! The app called Pyro was really tasty. Ritz crackers with spicy butter. I didn't try the pork rinds but hubby said they weren't bad.

Been meaning to check out this speakeasy. We met the owner at the Duplex once and he told us about this new spot...then I forgot about it. First checked this out early April on a Sunday evening. We were able to catch Happy Hour. The place was not crowded but slowly did hit capacity. On this occasion I came with my Father-in-law and Husband. The boys enjoyed dark liquor drinks and I enjoyed bubbles. We didn't grabbed snacks as we had a late lunch but they looked interesting. We enjoyed our time spent here and appreciated that the DJ played old and new jams. It was time to go when Sexy Red came on. I blushed for my Father-in-law. Not so much because of the song but because people started gyrating on the floor, And it wasn't even 7 PM.On second occasion, left another Happy Hour in Wicker Park and wanted to have a night cap. A girlfriend and I decided to come to Revolver. To our surprise here was a meet up being held here and the place was packed. No wonder we couldn't find parking. We were still able to grab drinks and mingle for a bit. On this occasion my drink (He who remains) was not good and horribly expensive. My cocktail ended up being $23 bucks with service charge (tip)...hmm it wasn't worth it. I ended up having another cocktail the Handlebar (margaritas-ish) and that was tasty. Overall, I like this black owned spot. Everyone is chill and having a good time. Right next door to a cool record shop. I will be back but I am gonna need to catch that HH special before rolling over to the $23 drinks.

Drinks: Beyond outstanding, the bar manager is exceptional!! Happy hour is a helluva deal but outside of that the craft cocktails are reasonably priced.Ambiance: Moody & sexy vibes -- with dope photography,Food: Must get the banana cake which is gluten free! Final Verdict: 10/10

The host was not willing to give my 2 friends and I a booth at the bar even though there was atleast one open the entire time we were there. We asked to even make a reservation for standard seating since there was one available when we were there and she said that wouldn't guarantee a booth but we cannot figure out why since they were open the entire time. They were out of some of the cocktails we wanted too.

Came here for their Happy Hour from 5-6:30pm and was excited to check it out! I will definitely say that this does NOT feel like a speakeasy. The front has comic book stuff displayed in the window, but when you open the door, you are entering into the entire bar. It just does not feel as cool as other speakeasies. We did not eat beforehand because the website advertised 1/2 off snacks. When we got there, there were only a select few snacks that were half off, and not the full menu. I ordered the chips with dip. And, to all of our surprise, the chips came in ONE small snack bag of Miss Vickies- something you can buy at the line of a grocery store checkout. We all laughed at how surprising this was. We were hoping then to have at least good drinks, but the drinks were not anything special either. Very straight to the point. The one good thing was the music and the staff were nice, but I will not return.

If you're looking for a solid vibe with great cocktails ya gotta check Revolver out. Been here numerous times now & have yet to be disappointed. No matter what day of the week or what DJ is playing, the music is always spot on, the cocktails are consistent & overall, just a great ambiance to be in.

Someone I follow online had posted about their great experience here, so I decided to check them out.We arrived a bit before 8pm on a Friday night. The place was fairly busy. We only had to wait 15-20 minutes before two seats opened up at the bar. I didn't previously know that they accepted reservations, but I would likely make one next time. They have large plush booths and seats at the bar available. There is a drink for everyone here. You can find everything from safe classics, to more innovative drinks. The first drink I ordered was the Old Man Logan (Rye, Apricot Eau-de-Vie, Hazelnut Liqueur, Salted Maple Syrup). Spirit forward, but also very approachable. I loved the light sweetness. I also tried my husband's two drinks (Revolver and Black Manhattan ). Those were also excellent. I was craving a Mint Julep. This wasn't a drink on the menu, but the bartender did an excellent job creating one. Very tasty. There are only light snacks on the current menu, but there are plenty of restaurants in the area to pick from. Revolver is definitely worth checking out.

Happy hour on Saturday, sign me up plz! This was my friend and I second stop of the evening; We did book a reservation but I don't believe that's necessary early in the evening. This place is so sultry low lit with mysterious elements I love it! I saw it was black owned lounge we had to patronize. We there at it's opening so the music was being streamed but was a great selection. There is a dedicated happy hour menu with a nice selection mostly bourbons and ryes. My choice was a daiquiri it was amazing. It was so surprising how never had a daiquiri prepared in such a manner with the dry fruit 10 out of 10! The young lady who was our server was seeing like she was new. She had to verify a few things but that was fine and we also got a little personalized attention from the manager (he snapped pictures for us ). So shout out to him for making our visit very special and I will be back!

This place was definitely a vibe! Beautiful space--the decor was impressive. Loved the theme. It was interesting because the exterior of the building was done up in comic book graffiti & it looked like a comic shop from the outside, but you walk in to mellow speakeasy. I really thought that was cool. The DJ was bumping on a Saturday night playing tons of early 2000's hip hop. The bar was packed & at capacity when we arrived so we had to wait for a bit, but the vibe was worth it! It just opened a few weeks ago, and clearly is making a splash based on how it was standing room only when we arrived at 10:30pm. It's marketed as a cocktail bar or lounge, but it was giving much more of a club vibe. It could've been because it was a weekend. I don't mind standing, but it does get pretty packed which makes it harder to order & drink a fancy cocktail. So why the 3 stars? The cocktails were honestly horrible. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt since they've only been open a few weeks, and assume they will be improving. The menu was actually really thoughtful, and a bunch of flavor combos stood out as unique. The bar program just needs to be dialed in better, and the bartenders need to work on their skills. When you market yourself as a craft cocktail lounge your bartenders need to be good at mixology. We tried a variety of cocktails between 4 friends, and each one wasn't good. It wasn't a matter of preference either they just weren't made correctly. They all tasted like only 1 ingredient rather than a melding of ingredients. For example one cocktail had cucumber and melon in it, but all you could taste was the orange bitters. Another one all you could taste was the sherry. So sadly nothing we ordered was prepared properly, and we gave it a few chances to make sure it wasn't us. When you're paying $15 for a drink having it taste bad is a pretty big blow. I think once they get their bartenders trained better the cocktails will improve, and it will be a great cocktail lounge. It was also hard to get a menu to see what was on the cocktail list if you weren't at a table or had a bar seat. If they're going to be operating as a standing room setting they will need to account for that, and if they added a QR code menu that would be really helpful effectively solving that problem. This lounge is definitely an cool addition to the Wicker Park neighborhood. When I stop by again after they've been open a bit I'm hoping the cocktail program will be better dialed in. If you just stick to beer or simple mixed drinks, and are just there for a good time it's definitely worth a visit.

From the cocktails, music, and vibe this is a solid spot to come in for a drink. It's a little loud if you're looking to lounge though. The staff is polite and professional. Pop in at least once for the experience!
