I'm sorry I have to give a 3 star review to Revel that used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. My wife and I have been going here since they first opened. We dined there last night after not being in for a couple years and it is really not as good as it used to be. Gone are the fried short rib potstickers which is unfortunate. The wontons that replaced it are good but not as good as the fried potstickers. We also had the crab noodle dish that we used to love. The sauce has been changed and there is significantly less crab in it than there used to be. We tried the kimchi pancake but it is inferior to the pork pancake that used to be offered. Another surprise was the prices. Like most places in Seattle, prices have gone up so much that it makes one question going out to dine at all. The service was excellent but I'm wondering why a 4% or 5% fee was added to our bill without any mention that I saw about it. In any event, I tipped our waiter as usual since he deserved it. I'm sad to say we won't be returning to Revel again unless we hear changes are made for the better to their menu.

I grabbed dinner here with a friend after a long work day; we arrived right before the end of happy hour and were easily able to grab a table for two. My cocktail was fine - but the real star here was the food! The menu is mean to share and the dishes come out as they ready. We opted for the short rib dumplings, the fish, and the sticky ribs. The dumplings were the real star of the show - filled well, spicy, and just so delicious! The fish was the real surprise of the meal - it was hearty, but light and fresh. The veggies it came with and fresh herbs were so satisfying. Finally, the ribs were delicious, don't get me wrong; however, they are definitely a lot of work, as the meat isn't "fall of the bone" ribs. So, prepared to get messy and put in a bit of work to enjoy them. Overall, service was good - food was great!

I came here for Seattle Restaurant Week and ordered everything off the restaurant week menu. I also ordered an a la carte item of their dungeness crab noodle as it seems that's what they're known for.Sweet chicory salad - it was ok, I felt it could've used more sauce as you could really taste the rawness and bitterness of the chicory, depends on your preferences. Loved the touch of persimmon hereShort rib wonton - this was my favorite dish on the menu. So flavorful and so good. I thought it was going to be spicy but it actually had a nice sweetness to itAlbacore tuna rice bowl - my least favorite dish of the night, it was bland and lacked flavor and depth. The kimchi tasted diluted and the tuna was plain and the crust didn't do it any favors.Spicy pork collar - I thought this was decent, lots of flavor and nice texture on the pork which was nicely balanced by the black riceCoconut cheesecake - I liked this. It has a saltiness to it like salted caramel but it did not taste out of place. I wish the crust held in place a bit better and had some flavor to itRice pudding - rice was not fully cooked and the flavor was extremely subtle (not in a good way). The rice texture ruined it for me. The five spice fig was amazing thoughI feel like they didn't choose any of the dishes they're known for to be on the restaurant week menu so maybe their main menu is a lot better than this, but I came here on restaurant week to get an intro of what this restaurant is about and didn't come out impressed.

To be honest I'm usually skeptical of restaurants that are mashing together styles like this. Fusion has long been a buzzword in the food world. However, Revel nails it completely. Exhibit A: The rice cakes with spicy romesco, curried pork and dandelion greens. Perfectly cooked rice cakes with a creamy and slightly spicy romesco sauce. The curried pork adds more to this flavor bomb. The fats and spice brought into balance with the bitterness of the dandelion greens.Exhibit B: The short rib wontons with garlic crunch in a chili oil. Pefectly cooked short rib inside perfectly cooked wontons mixed with a chili oil that brought some nice heat to the party without overtaking flavors. The garlic crunch provided a nice textural contrast to the soft wontons and meat.Service was excellent. Drink list is not large, but plenty of options that pair well with the food. Despite the costly Uber from downtown, it was worth it. Next time I'm in town I will come back for sure.Logistics: Online ordering via Toast at https://order.toasttab.com/online/revel-seattle. Reservations via Open Table.

I came here with a few friends a couple of weeks ago and LOVED it! I fully expected to not be able to eat very much as I assumed there wouldn't be a tonne of gluten free options. WOW I was wrong! There were sooooo many gluten free options and when some dishes had dairy, they were happy to make changes / put it on the side so others could enjoy but I could still eat the main dish. We were all famished, so I didn't get a pic nor remember exactly what we ordered. But what I can tell you is that we ended up ordering the race cakes twice because they were soooo amazing! The service was great! They were happy to accommodate my requirements without any issue! We sat outside which despite being a cool November evening, was super cozy due to the heaters and blankets! I will definitely be coming to revel again soon!

The food was a hit or miss. It is a modern Korean restaurant with cool art hanging on the walls. I enjoy Korean food but this might have been too modern for me. The beef short rib was definitely higher quality beef but only getting one piece of the short rib, did not feel worth it. I'm use to Korean short rib coming with multiple strips of the meat on the bone. And it was the best thing we ate. The pork belly had too much going on. There was a bean like paste that threw off the texture for me specifically with the japche (glass noodles). The crab pasta was good. It just fell a bit too salty. The service was very attentive and helped us get the extra spicy chilis to elevate the spice level.

Full disclosure: we did the restaurant week menu here so maybe it's a bit better usually. It was fine food, just nothing to write home about. The desserts, I will say, were the best moment of the whole thing. Restaurant had a bit of an open kitchen was cool and it was very open air. Service was phenomenal, just not my cup of tea dish wise!

I would return for the noodles, the drinks, and the kind service! Definitely make reservations online or calling. I tried online and they said they were booked until after 8:30pm but when I called they had a spot earlier for the two of us on a Saturday evening. We started off with two drinks, all looked amazing! The food is shareable small plates. They recommend at least 3 dishes to share. We started with our favorite, the short rib wontons, followed by the handmade Dungeness crab noodles, and ended with the pork belly wraps. We finished the meal with what my spouse calls the best cheesecake she's ever had! The coconut cheesecake with yuzu caramel. Unfortunately they're switching the dessert off their menu.Overall, try it first a date night, try their mixed drinks, share some food, and enjoy good music in the background!

Nom nom nom. We left Seattle a few years ago. While I've been back I hadn't had a chance to get to Revel even tho it's a priority. Finally went and they were in a new location. The food is always amazing. It's great to go with a group and eat family style. This time I only went with 1 other friend and we totally over ordered and over ate. But it was worth it. Everything is a party in your mouth with well balanced but surprising flavors. Anything with noodles is perfectly al dente. Truly you can't go wrong. Service is always friendly and on point (which IS a tall order in Seattle) so you know they really work on that w the staff. Go! Eat! I'm jealous you get to go!

I was disappointed with my experience. The food was ok but not worth the price. Also definitely not authentic Korean but more of a pan Asian cuisine with Korean flavor, ambience infused. The bbq rib was so charred and burnt on the outside and rare bloody on the inside with so much fat that there wasn't much meat left . I was not even asked how I want my meat cooked but did not bother to request it to be recooked since it took so long to get the dish.
