Location is beautiful. A nice view of Green Lake park; what's not to love. Food was surprisingly quite average. I went there with such high expectations after reading all the amazing Yelp reviews. So a little disappointed. We got the strawberry smoothie, Mayan bowl, and breakfast Sando. Food lacked flavor. There was a teeny tiny bit of chimichurri in the Mayan bowl. Was expecting more flavors honestly. Sando was plain egg, avocado, sliced tomato-- no flavor nothing. Side potatoes were half-cooked. The bun was nice and squishy. The smoothie was pretty good. While it's a nice place to visit if you are in the area and looking for some nice views; but not something I would necessarily trouble myself to go back to.

**Disclaimer**I have been to Retreat twice and both times it was on a Saturday, their busiest day of the week. Pls keep that in mind w my review. The food is pretty good if you want something healthy and the drinks are definitely tasty. The problem for me is the atmosphere. It's completely packed and cramped. No where to sit. Staff can't keep up with wiping tables or sweeping. The doors are kept open for the never ending line so unless it's the middle of summer, it's freezing. It's also so, so loud. Always. Very overstimulating. The people are also just kind of rude (?). Not necessarily the staff but the kind of customers that come in. I felt like I was in a weird skit about LA where every one is wearing expensive athleisure and giving me dirty looks. This was my second time trying to give this place a chance, but ultimately it is just not worth the price tag or the headache for me. There are so many better food spots in Seattle. Go to Kitanda a few blocks away instead.

Cute ambiance, and while the food is pretty, it's not really very tasty to me. I would love that pesto on a pasta or something a little more cohesive than the retreat bowl which feels disjointed and not worth the money or the kitchens effort. Service is really friendly!

I can't quite pin down my feelings about Retreat. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not good. The lunch rush lasts for many hours and it's kind of a circus inside. There's a lot of seating inside and out but it always fills up fast. The food can be great or mid. The bowls are usually pretty good and the portions are decent. I love their smoothies especially the Mixed Berry Banana. The main draw of Retreat is the location in my opinion. To be fair the location is great and sipping on an iced latte and watching the sun set over Green Lake is wonderful.

I feel like this is more of a 3.5, because the food is good and the service was fine but the ambiance and cost weren't great. I had avocado toast, which wasn't a huge portion relative to the cost. My partner had the loaded breakfast sandwich, which he liked. The side of potatoes were good too. Our drinks were also fine, had the seasonal cardamom orange latte and my partner had the coffee. The servers were trying as hard as they could but ultimately people weren't picking up their food or drinks in a timely manner and lots of folks were lingering despite having finished their food and others standing and looking for seats. My issue with this place is coming on a Saturday - there's virtually nowhere to sit, though the patio is dog friendly. Because of this, it's pretty crowded, loud, and messy, making it feel tough to enjoy your food or time there. If I came back, I'd definitely not do it on a Saturday or I'd grab a smoothie to go and just sit by the lake.

Waited 45 minutes for our order then was told it never got put in. I then went to go ask for a refund and realized they had refunded a completely different order and card that was not mine.

I've been here a few times - all the drinks are amazing! Today I got a salted maple chocolate smoothie and it super good 5/5! My friend ordered the tuna melt and he gave it a 4/5 because it was a little oily and salty for him! I'd really recommend this place since it's right next to greenlake , aesthetic, and has great drinks and service!

I always love stopping by at retreat for a little snack/meal after dance class! Be prepared, it does get quite busy during lunch/weekends, i always end up waiting at least 10 minutes as there's only one cashier taking orders at a time. I will say food/drinks come out fairly quickly after because theyre slinging drinks and making food like no other in the back!I've tried a few of their menu items. I particularly like mayan bowl, it has a lot of good healthy ingredients and their chimichurri is to die for!!!! I always ask for extra chimichurri (the normal amount isn't enough goodness to accompany all the food they give you). I also really enjoy their side of hummus with the pita bread. They give quite a generous amount, enough to share with at least one other person. The pita is nice and soft and comes out warm and has some yummy spices on top of it, the perfect snack if you're not looking for a big meal. I also really enjoy their smoothies, it has a nice creamy texture and is the perfect amount of sweetness. The cafe/restaurant itself is very spacious and open aired when the weather is nice. There's also plenty of outdoor seats out front and on their patio, perfect for people watching/enjoying the greenlake views.

First time in a while - I got a seasonal latte (cardamom orange latte) which was fun but I didn't love the active construction work that started around 6pm! Hopefully it wraps up soon, they were actively hanging up drop cloths when I arrived at 5pm, so maybe it's just for this week? It was loud enough that I could hardly hear the friend that I was taking to!

Cozy cute little cafe by the lake. Very charming vibe for dining in after a run. Love their coffee aroma and flavour. The mocha was perfect and not too sweet. Their croissants and pastries are a must try!
