I was skeptical that this was worth the line, but truly the best kouign amanns in San Diego!! I always search for this pastry, and this bakery makes it just perfect. So buttery, flaky, layered, and perfectly sweet. You can also taste and see the vanilla bean they incorporate into the batter. I wish I bought 5 (I only bought 2 to try).It was my first time visiting, so I tried as much as I could.-creamed corn tile with blueberry miso jam: this was such a unique item! I'm not sure how to describe the flavor profile, but it's exactly as the name states like a creamed corn soup. A great balance of sweet, salty, and savory-pistachio cornbread: moist with a light pistachio flavor. This might be my second favorite since it's a subtle little treat-blackberry olive oil cake: this was okay. I found it a little dry-plain croissant: this was pretty good. It's a little on the crispier side though/dry on the top. My favorite part of the croissant is the soft interior layers with some of the crunchy part. This location has a fair amount of parking in the lot and street parking if necessary. I wouldn't worry too much if the line is long. It moves pretty quickly. You can also preorder online.

Online pre-order system was relatively easy. I noticed that sometimes the website is delayed from their Monday noontime pre-order opening time.Pick up: also very easy and quick.Parking: not many spaces available inside the business center location, but plenty of street parking.Pastries: we had very high expectations due to all the wonderful reviews and the photos of the pastries and descriptions sound yummy. However, my family were disappointed to find the pastries--though beautiful--lacking in flavor!Matcha creme Brûlée 1/5 - bitter unpleasant flavor. We were expecting some kind of custardy texture, but there was nothing creme brûlée about it. It was like soggy bread. We don't like to waste food, but this was really hard to eat. Point for creativity and presentation.Kouign Amann with salted white chocolate caramel 2.5/5 - this had a nice crispy texture, but was way too sweet.Black sesame yuzu twice baked croissant 3.5/5 - though the croissant is very black in color, the black sesame flavor didn't really come though. This ended up being a very dense pastry. Flavor was okay. Would not get again.Double pain Âu chocolate 4/5 - very rich chocolate flavor and delicious.Ham, cheese, mustard seed croissant 4.5/4 - this was one of the best ham & cheese croissants we had. So yummy! Highly recommend.Overall, we wouldn't get high end pastries from here again as there are some other great bakeries around town.

Relic Bageri is the best kept secret that's becoming not so secret. While I'd love to keep them all to myself, I love the popularity they're gaining and am so excited for their success and expansion!Like many, I found them on instagram and thought one of two things would be true: either they were going to be as good as they look or it's just another passing fad. Thankfully, after submitting my preorder and trying bites off of their June menu, I can say with certainty that they are the real deal. I dream of the matcha creme brulee danish. I'm honestly so sad that was a June special because I got it 3 separate times and now it's gone *tear*. But everything I've tried has been delicious. I've done the preorders twice, which is really the way to go. That way you avoid the long pop up line. I've also gone down to Rikka Fikka to pick up their pastries on a Thursday. You can always check the instagram to see what they've delivered for the day. Their fun, creative flavors are truly what sets them apart. LOVE!

BOMB. I'm really happy I finally got around to trying Relic. It's hard to name a favorite, I really don't think you could go wrong here. Also pretty sure their flavors are seasonal anyway. Cashier was super nice. A few tables but their current location isn't really a sit-down spot.I'm into the limited hours/pop-up format, because otherwise I'd be tempted to return for pastries way too often.

Came here off of multiple videos on Instagram and TikTok showing the pastries and knew I had to come. There is limited parking at the front but there's street parking and other lots nearby if you can't find a spot. I would recommend doing an online order since the pop up on Sundays is a really long line. We came at 9:30 and got in the store at 10:20. Be careful since they sell out fast. As for the food, we ordered almost one of everything and was astounded by the quality of each one. There were some items we would've never put together like a savory popcorn croissant that was similar to salted butter but on another level. Our favorites were the pistachio pomegranate croissant and the garlic gruyere croissant but you can't go wrong with anything in there. They change flavors often so I will definitely be back monthly! Can't wait to see the next set of flavors and twists the amazing bakers come up with.

I'm honestly shocked at the raving reviews Relic Bageri has received. I saw an Instagram Reel promoting this bakery, so I visited with high expectations, only to be disappointed. I feel like the pastries look a lot better than they taste. However, the presentation is beautiful and the textures of the pastries were spot on. I felt that the flavors were lacking and in some of them, you can barely taste what they are trying to achieve. For example, the yuzu pastry barely had any flavors of yuzu. The chocolate croissant was underwhelmingly plain. The worst of it all was that we spent so much money and we were so excited to try all the delicious looking pastries, only to find mold in one of the pastries! YES MOLD! There was mold in a few pieces of the berries that were on the lavender berry pastry. I wish I took a picture of it, but I was so shocked and I went to the register to have the issue addressed. They did not apologize or seem the slightest bit sorry, but they did replace my pastry. I felt uneasy afterward, inspecting all the other pastries and wondering if they were fresh. I reached out to the business owner, Sam, who told me that most likely the berries were sold to them with mold already. Even so, does the baker not inspect the berries before putting them on the pastry?I wouldn't recommend this bakery as I feel like you can get better quality pastries with less of a line and in a more convenient location. I won't be returning.

I found this place from someone posting about it on Facebook and was super happy I found it! They have pop ups on Sundays from 9:30am until sell out and I believe they change their flavors every month. This was my first time coming so i had no idea what to expect. We arrived around 9:36 and waited in line until about 10:15ish. The line gets quite long but there is plenty of street and some lot parking. We ordered the carrot cake, strawberries and chamomile cream, matcha chiffon cake, cardamom, and double pain au chocolat. Everything was delicious. I really loved the carrot cake as that one was a stand out. Everything else is good but I wouldn't go more than 1 visit a month as I'm more interested in their seasonal flavors! Overall, I'll definitely be a monthly customer after this visit. They have plenty of options and if you come early, you'll have more selection as they do sell out fast.

TL;DR- be pissed off - that you weren't told of them before. Relic Bageri is far too humble, but their work speaks volumes of the technical skill and immaculate flavor imagination this bakery has. Look forward to a more permanent location.Been following this bakery for quite some time, watching their previous work and seeing their menus each month on Instagram. The concept itself was interesting, and the pickup concept seemed way more relaxed than similar bakeries with exceptionally long lines, disappointment, and "you get what you get" setups.I decided that my schedule had dragged the watching on quite long enough, so I set up for a pickup on a Friday. Arrived and simply stated my name, and I was given a large box with my treasure. It seems that I was in good company as, with just an hour and a half left for pickup, plenty of other boxes were left. Here's the rundown:Tiramisu Danish - incredible stacking of flavors, textures all worked absolutely flawlessly together. Excellent pastry.White chocolate raspberry palmier - a well executed palmier, but not much more than that.Kouign amann - irresistibly airy and topped with a fantastic caramel that accents a pastry often overlooked for being plain.Karanchi chili crisp gougere - excellent size and texture, great spice that sits moderately on the tongue. Good textures all around.Too full to continue but look forward to the others! And to future orders!
