Certainly,Disappointing Experience at Red PepperI recently visited Red Pepper at 5626 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77056, hoping for a pleasant family dinner. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.Upon entering, a waiter with glasses approached our table to take our order. When I requested the Peking duck, I was shocked to hear that it was only available for regular clients. I inquired about the differences and any other restricted items, and the response was dismissive, stating it was "way different" from the China Town offerings. The waiter reluctantly offered a try, but we decided to leave, not wanting to risk a disappointing dining experience.The lack of transparency regarding menu restrictions and the unwelcoming response left us with a negative impression of the place. I cannot recommend Red Pepper based on this experience, and I encourage the management to address these issues for the benefit of future patrons.

Today I had a very bad experience in Red Paper. The appearance and taste of the food was not good and I complained about it, but they did do anything. Also, after we got home, we started to have cramps and an upset stomach. Horrible!!!

I stopped in for lunch and was going to get it to go but decided to stay. They have a lunch menu that includes soup, rice, and eggroll and a drink, which is nice. I ordered baby shrimp and broccoli and chose wonton soup. The water or tea is served in giant containers which is kind of kitch but it's hot so it worked. The soup was tasty with fresh Chinese cabbage on top and a hand made wonton. Lunch was huge! It had to be a half pound of shrimp is delicious, freshly made sauce with bits of fresh ginger in it. And the broccoli was fresh and Al dente. I mixed it with the shrimp and sauce and it was delicious. The decor is not so much to look at but for a tasty, quality dinner or lunch I highly recommend Red Pepper

We were attending quickly & a timely manner. The food was delicious my whole family went & we mostly ordered sweet & sour chicken, Fried rice, chow mein, cream puffs & different other plates. The server was attentive & actively asking if the food turned out good & if we needed anything else. Overall I would definitely come back and also affordable for what they give!

I have been going to this place for more than 15 years, either to sit down, usually for lunches; or for takeout. I cannot recall the last time that I was disappointed. Their lunch menu is generous. The dinner menu expands the generous portions. I love their chicken with cashew nuts and the tangy, spicy chicken dish as well. Egg rolls are always freshly cooked, the hot & sour soup is my favorite and at home can retain lasting freshness for a week. The dining room is highly simplified, but always clean. The waiters are polite and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely solid Chinese food in a very cozy setting. Red Pepper is the definition of a mom and pop Chinese food spot. With only about 15-20 tables it's a very cozy spot to get some pretty classic takes on Chinese food.What got me the most as a first impression was the retro vibe of the locale. Pastel colored walls, the furniture that reminded me of a 70s airport lounge and the very 80's paintings hung up about.Service is no nonsense and to the point. The best part was getting the drinks served in oversized containers! And the food was awesome. We tried the Orange Chicken, which was different from how other restaurants do it, with actual orange peel in the sauce. The Beef and Broccoli, which was no frills, a General Tso that was delicious and a mixed fried rice. We left nothing behind. There was a very classic feel to the dishes, and it felt very 'clean' in terms of how we felt afterwards. The quality seemed to be a step above other hole in the wall Chinese food spots. Would highly recommend.

No flavor. Need to update the dining area. You need to add soy sauce and chili sauce to give it flavor. They give you ice tea in a to go container. Service was horrible. The service just says, "What do you want?" lol

The food is always fresh. All your favorite Chinese classics at their best because you can taste that it's from scratch and made fresh. Their staff is very attentive when you dine in and it's always fast when you order out. They are incredibly consistent and hardworking and deserve the recognition so I made sure to share love on all their pages.FYI they're conservative with salt/soy but the flavors are all there, just ask for more.Sidenote - they take a lot of pride in their restaurant. The ambiance is the nostalgic because it feels like you're in the 90s. The decor and furniture is in preserved condition, it almost feels surreal. Maybe I'm getting old. lol But how well it's maintained is a testament of their effort and care.
