I just started working nearby and came here at 11:30am for lunch. I had the place to myself and a staff member took my order quickly and efficiently. I had a toasted turkey and bacon sandwich (they call it a California Turkey) and it was made with Boars Head. It was served on a plate with a pickle and I ate outside under an umbrella and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. The only thing that I didn't like was the cost of the sandwich ($13) which I thought seemed quite excessive. All of the sandwiches were about the same price, some more. It was a delicious lunch but I most likely won't be back unless they lower the prices.

RB Deli sits below street level where the rooftops of the business area it resides under is eye-level so you most definitely won't be able to see it if you're just driving by. Drive down the ramp to the various businesses in the lot and you'll see it on the right with the red awnings. Because of the location, this place caters to the surrounding businesses in the area and fortunately for me, my office building is right up the street from it. The menu is what you'll typically see in a business/office building location. From a breakfast burrito, bagels and toast, to hot and warm sandwich options for lunch. You won't find any special, housemade/craft sauces in their menu items but that's expected. I tried the Turkey California on sourdough with double meat and the heft in that sammie was just what I wanted. It was a good tasting sandwhich. I also ordered a breakfast burrito on the second visit and I wasn't really expecting much but it sure was delicious. The savory bits of gooey cheese, ham and bacon paired well with the warm and soft breakfast potatoes and flour tortilla. The burrito wasn't as large as what I'm used to but that's probably a good thing since I'd hate to have a morning food coma in the office. The interior has lots of space and has a very inviting atmosphere. I've yet to enjoy a dine-in experience since my office is so close but rest-assured I shall someday soon :)

It's close and convenient. I'm a soup a holic. They have usually 2 soups a day such as tomatoe bisque and chicken noodle. Got one of the sweeter apple spinach salads too. What you see in the photos below was enough for lunch and breakfast.

Pricey and not good for the value. Sandwiches will run you roughly 10.00 and you don't even get service with a smile. I've tried the breakfast sandwiches, soups and cold sandwiches. Usually because it's late and I'm working through a late lunch.

Let me start off by saying that I don't take negative reviews lightly and I try to be as fair and open minded as possible. Employees make mistakes. Customers are too hard on employees as I am well aware from working in the service industry. Here's why I rate this place low:1. I was told it would take 10 minutes to make my sandwich and I was there for 28 minutes stressing about whether or not I'd be able to return to work on time. 2. The worst part and the reason for the one star and not two: I grabbed a bag and opened it because the receipt said "turkey". As is common in the restaurant industry, people can screw up orders so I took it out of the wrapper and checked it. I was DEGRADED and EMBARRASSED in front of the other customers!! I was told "You're not allowed to do that! See, now that you did that she's going to have to wait longer for her food!" Even after apologizing profusely they showed no mercy and never said, "It's fine, everybody makes mistakes, but please pay attention to the name." I get that hygiene is very important in the age of covid however that was extremely rude and felt like total overkill. If I had talked to customers like that at the grocery store I used to work at I would be fired...or suspended without pay if I was lucky. It's not like I was stealing somebody else's food on purpose, it was an honest mistake. 3. The food, while not horrible, is nothing to write home about either. They use boar's head which I feel is mediocre at best and doesn't live up to the hype that they market themselves as. Their meat and cheese is very thinly sliced. Yep, my tummy is still growling after eating that measly sandwich. No bueno. 4. Lo and behold, THEY GOT MY ORDER WRONG. I asked for turkey, mayo, cheese and tomato, nothing else. I never asked for ham or lettuce and there was ham and lettuce on my sandwich. I CHECK MY ORDER FOR A REASON. Hey, how about following simple, exact instructions before you're nasty to people for making mistakes? See? You make mistakes too! If you want an AMAZING deli check out The Cheese Shop in La Jolla Shores. They don't skimp on meat and cheese, they're delicious and their sandwiches don't leave you hungry!

I loveeee going to this place. I don't live in San Diego but I am fortunate enough to work in this area and let me tell you, the food here is so FRESH and DELICIOUS. At first I was hesitant to come here because I was like "ehh a business building deli..." I just assumed that I would be bland like gas station food(which I would never recommend anyone eating) but I was pleasantly surprised! Everything taste amazing here and I could visit every single day if I could! But aside from the food, I am very appreciative of the customer service. Thank you guys for being so great! Can't wait to go back! My go to is always the turkey avocado bacon sandwich toasted

Pesto panini was BOMB! They use premium Boars Head for their food which is my fav! The place is clean and had nice decor. Great pit stop if you work nearby! The owner was really nice, he even introduced his daughter to us. I will be back!

I read most of the reviews below. Its a shame that this place does not know what making a correct sandwich is about. When one checks off "no onions" on the on-line order form, and gets a sandwich full of onions, that is not good. Kids working during the summer with no care at all. Sad to say, that I will not be returning.

Very disappointing. Expensive for what you get. $12 for a sandwich. $2 for a single can of soda. They are very slow and they didn't make my sandwich right. They used the wrong bread (which was stale anyway) and left off all of the vegetables. I won't be coming back.
