Ray's Pizza Cave Creek

The guys at Ray's are super nice. Only one other couple eating here so service was fast and helpful. We ordered some cheese slices to go. They asked if we would mind a slight wait. They wanted to make up a new pie for us. Great! We had a seat and waited patiently.The boxed pie was ready to go quite quickly. One of the staff brought the box to our table and thanked us. Nice service!I reheated the pizza since it was cold. The slices were big in size. We thought the pizza was good and a bit on the salty side which no doubt is from the cheese. The crust was chewy. We will have to compare it with a New York slice next time we visit. In the meantime this slice fit the bill. Large outdoor parking lot with Cox WiFi for subscribers.

Who said "there's no such thing as BAD pizza!" has never eaten at Ray's. Even the dough is horrible- like homemade bread dough with expired flour. Weird, canned tasting sauce, and WAYY too much (old?) cheese. SO foul, it is the very first time in my LIFE I did not take the rest home.. what a shame....

We always have a great experience here. Real deal New York style pizza. The owners are fantastic and so nice! Smiles every time we walk in!Chill environment and a great spot to grab a bite!

Fun atmosphere with Big Band vintage music. Super friendly and efficient staff. Got seated right away in a nice comfortable booth. Drinks came quickly. Our 18" thin-crust pizza came in about 20 minutes - loaded with toppings for $29. Very tasty, though crust was a little cardboard-y. Hope to return to try the Chicago-style deep-dish.

Finding decent pizza in Arizona can often seem to be a futile, often hopeless mission. Lou Malnati is decent for deep-dish Detroit-style pizza. If you're looking for true New York-style or Neapolitan pizza most people should give up hope for finding any here. Ray's put's up signs of New York in their shop, but that's a deception.Ray's pizzas are bland, mediocre, and boring. The crust is hard and stiff absolutely devoid of any flavor. Likely Ray's uses poor flour (i.e., cheap or the wrong flour). Sauce is tasteless. Cheese and other toppings have an odd, off-putting smell. These are hideous pizzas.As for the ambiance, the place is dirty and the seating upholstery is torn, worn, and ripped. Not even the minimal effort of duct-taping was made. Decor is bland and uninviting and uncomfortable. The New York sign is a joke--funny if everything else about this place wasn't so sad.Hard to comment about service, given that it seems all the business is take out.

I don't know what is it about the pizza but it's so good. I hate when you lift piece of slice and it flaps down like a soggy sock, not this one. The dough is tasty and baked as it should be.

We ordered a Meatball Calzone and 2 slices of cheese pizza. The Calzone only had 2 meatballs in it, the bread was over cooked, and very crusty (Dry), the cheese slices were very thin and hardly any sauce or cheese on them. The food was not good at all. We were very disappointed! Just a waste of money. Plus we waited 20 minutes for the food. We will never return to Ray's. C. Schmidt Cave Creek, AZ. I called them when we got home, and the guy that answered was the one that took our order. He started yelling at me, saying I took to long to order, that I didn't know what I wanted, said you only spent $17.00, then he hung up on me. I called him back,he started yelling at me again, and I said can you please listen to me and understand what is going on here? He stopped talking, I told him, I am very ill, I had just had Chemo 2 days before and I have the beginning of Dementia, which makes me slow. I told him I was and am very sick, and maybe he should take his time and not rush people. I have issues talking right now, and being really sick does not help. I apologized for my slow order, but being sick, does not help.

We had a take out order of wings and pizza last night. The wings were great (I ordered extra crispy), the pizza was not. Do you guys cook the pizza then add toppings? There was no evidence that the toppings had been anything more than slightly warmed, yet the crust was rock hard. Did we get a bad one or are they always like that? We loved the look of your seating area and wanted to eat in next time but the pizza was terrible, so unless that was just a dud, we won't be back, I'm sorry to say.

Great quality pizza for a great price. It never takes too long when ordering ahead, which I love. In addition, they're always super respectful when I am in there.

Food not bad, however floors are filthy black. They need degreaser / Simple Green. Bathroom had no paper towel and was filthy. Urinal wrapped in plastic? Went into ladies room and it stunk like sewer. Now, if I see this, what will I see in the kitchen? Logged into Maricopa County Environmental website, and this establishment is not participating in the award program. Why? Raid insect killer in the walk in cooler. June 1, 2023 similar inspection: No paper towels available from dispenser at front handwashing sink. I'm just disappointed in the cleanliness of this place.
