Walked into the restaurant around 1:30pm and sat at the bar. My crab cake was absolutely delicious! Service was prompt and I enjoyed the ambiance of the bar being separate from the restaurant.

We stopped by Ray's in the City for their happy hour selection. We came in for the wagyu burger that we saw on Yelp from February 2024, but they actually don't serve that or the chicken sandwich anymore. However, we decided to stay and sat at the bar as the restaurant had a really fun vibe. Our server was attentive and consistently checked on us.We started with the happy hour BBQ shrimp on a grit cake. For just $10, we got an incredible dish. The grit cake was a very unique take on the city's classic grits. It was smothered in a subtly spicy butter sauce and the grilled shrimp were fantastic. We ended up getting a she crab soup off of the regular dinner menu. It was also good, but nothing mind blowing. We ended the night with the warm lemon butter cake. The cake was truly molten inside and paired so well with the ice cream and blueberry compote. Simply delicious!Highly recommend Ray's in the City, even if it's just for happy hour. The food, presentation, and service was excellent.

Have visited here a total of three times in the last year and a half. When in town for wholesale market and staying in the Westin, this is one of the closest and easiest restaurants that doesn't involve the car. It seems to always be crowded, even with reservations. The food has always been good, although pricey, but then again you're in Atlanta, so what can one expect?I will say with reservations, and arriving on time, two of the three visits I have felt like we were given the worst possible table. Not sure why, we were dressed fairly nice and such, just seems odd. It is on the louder side.

Classic steakhouse vibes in downtown Atlanta. The menu is pretty large with a bunch of steak and fish options. We started with the calamari and shrimp which came with a delicious dipping sauce. Pretty standard but good! Great list of cocktails, martinis, and wines. Service was attentive. I tried a grilled pice of mahi ($30) and ordered the mac n cheese ($12) and cauliflower/brussel sprouts ($12) sides. My husband got the shrimp scampi linguini ($39). Nice sized portions, well cooked, and flavored. Nothing was the best but all were very very good,Place is a bit pricey so just keep that in mind,

I was in Atlanta briefly and wanted to get a little local flavor. I was staying at the Ritz Carleton Midtown and Rays was just a block away! I really enjoyed the Shrimp and Grits Lurch. The ambience and the service was excellent! I would highly recommend this establishment for lunch or dinner!

Overall, the food and the ambience of this place was great! I visited during a work trip walked in on a Monday around four without a reservation. We had to wait at the bar for a few minutes, but then we were seated. Our server was attentive and helpful when we asked questions about the menu. They even brought out complementary warm butter for the seafood platter.

One of the few nice restaurants in the Atlanta Downtown areas. Thank you.Just landed, checked into the hotel, then came here for our first meal (3 hour time difference from PST).Quality/Quantity - Came here for happy hour. Got the following:New Orleans BBQ Shrimp Ray's Chicken Sandwich - Good. My dish. I am told that Atlanta is known for their chicken and waffles, so this was the closest thing on their HH menu.Wagyu Burger - Also good, done well. Not well done, pun intended.Truffle Parmesan Fries - This was SO good, real shaved truffles! Not just truffle oil. This would have been 5 stars, if we realized that our HH orders also came with fries. We were SO fried out by the end of the meal.HH New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc $8 - So good and refreshing that I got two glasses. Well after a long flight, time changes, etc, I felt I deserved two glasses. They have a decent wine selection, see menu or my pictures of their wines, displays, etc. Full bar, etc.Atmosphere - Nice upscale restaurant.Booth, table, and bar seating.Private or semi private dining available.Clean modern bathrooms.Open 7 days a week: Weekdays from 11:30am to 9pm or 10pm, weekends open for dinner only from 4pm to 9pm or 10pm. See my picture. Hours differ on Yelp and their website.I am told that it is crazy busy after the nearby conventions let out.Events, see website. Also on their website, they preach a dress code. Not sure how I was dressed getting off the plane, but I guess I was dressed good enough to eat here. LOL.Service - Brenda, our bartender, was good. Personable. They also have a loyalty program, see website.Price - $60 + generous tip.Expensive for a HH, but there are just not enough decent good restaurants in the downtown area that are walkable from our hotel. And there are aggressive people in the streets, especially at night, so be safe.Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1984 and with your 3 locations. And congrats on your success at this location since 2003.

Solid 3.5 stars. Was a bit disappointed as I had high expectations. The ambiance was very nice. I ordered the salmon oscar. The flavors were very good, including the crab topping and the béarnaise sauce. But the portion size was very small for the price that we paid. My sister ordered the grouper special. While we waited for our food to arrive, we noticed that the lady at the table next to us had ordered the grouper as well and then subsequently sent it back. When my sister's arrived, she said it had no flavor, needed salt and was a bit undercooked. We told our server that we were going to a show an didn't have time for dessert, but it seems like they still took longer than expected to get our check.
