Really. There's nothing like waking up early and getting to the bakery as they just open. This time of year, the sun is still coming up and sole lights of the bakery stand out beautifully as I roll up Prospect to be the first customer of the morning. One person there, ready to serve and you know they've been up since who knows when baking that day's offering.I went because after loving their bread purchased at Community Food Co-op, I wanted to try their other varieties, and so purchased two. And they are as fabulous as everything we've tried to date. What's great is how much this baker cares about their ingredients and hones their craft. You can tell - this bread, as wonderful as it tastes, is also good for you. Bravo, Raven Bakery. I'll be back again to be first customer of the morning again.Bread should be Dope.

Arriving at Raven Bakery on Prospect Street in Bellingham this morning, Wednesday 20 September 2023, I found a few of the street parking spots out front open. Upon parking I inserted two quarters (20 minutes) into the meter then realized I did not need to pay yet because it was before 11:00 a.m., oops. Making my way to the suite for Raven Bakery, there was a sign out front clearly marking the bakery as well as the name of the bakery on both the window and the side of the building (the sign/placard on the side of the building was the signage I initially spotted on approach by car). The counter for ordering items was right inside the door and workers were alert and ready and music was playing at low-medium volume. Looking over the items, I went with a slice/slab of the gingerbread cake. I paid cash, which was a payment method that came with a 3% discount. The worker fulfilling the order was friendly. Taking the cake back to my car to eat, I found it to be a denser bread/cake with a very intense ginger flavor. I grew fonder of the intensity as I ate the slice, reaching a stable palate equilibrium by the end. It was a tasty treat.

Some of the worst marketing I've seen. On your website you don't have a menu listing your offerings. And no way to contact you to ask. I don't drive and don't want to make the trip "just to see" if there's something I want. If you listed the things you made I might be more tempted. Your giveaway announcement said you're giving away cakes for your anniversary and I have allergies so I was trying to see what favors you make! 0h well,

Closest thing to the bread I've had in Europe. That seedy buckwheat is my new favorite bread. Super friendly staff and a beautiful bakery.

Met Sophie at Bellingham Market. Very personable, and her bread is awesome. Bread Farm is an excellent bakery also at market, but IMO Sophie's is better! Nice sourdough flavor, great crust with great mouth-feel to interior

Best bread in town! I make a weekly trip to the Farmer's Market - even when I don't need anything else - just to get a loaf of the delicious Red & White Sourdough (makes the best toast ever). The malted chocolate chip cookies are divine as well. Rye breads seem to be Sophie's specialty, and unfortunately I'm not a big rye fan, although her beautiful displays make me wish that I was!

We discovered Raven Breads on a trip through Bellingham and were smitten. We bought a little bit of everything which was way more than two people could normally eat, but it all spoke to us. Everything was delicious. The breads are complex and deeply flavored with a great crust and moist crumb. I also think the granola and malted cookies are outstanding.

If you like healthy, tasty and original breads then this is your place. The young lady has been running the stall for three years. She does it all herself. She bakes the night before the market. I have eaten breads all over Europe and Raven is as good or better than most. Raven is what the farmers market is all about. We love all the breads, but our favorite is the mountain rye. It is a very dense dark rye that is full of seeds. It is best for simple open faced sandwiches or with a little butter and honey. Try Raven and you will be pleased.
