Some of they're snacks are "ok" however the customer service needs improvement. As soon as you walk in you're not greeted and it seems like they're annoyed to see you walk in. I stopped by and after standing there waiting to order for a bit one of the ladies asked me if I had been helped. Before I could answered she turned around and said well someone will help you soon. Its important to say I was the only person waiting to order and there was 3 employees. I decided to stay and order and boy I shouldn't have. The whole time I felt like my order was an inconvenience to them and at the end the ice cream tasted old. Reminds me of the cheap watered down ice cream from buffets lol. Bad vibes and bad ice cream.

I'm a Latina that married into a huge Mexican family that has taught me how to eat and enjoy all Mexican food and their so called "sweets" (candy, pastries, chips, and fruit concoctions) It's like they add CHILE (spicy powder/liquid) to everything. So here's what I can tell you... First of all, foods and sweets vary depending on the region they're from, in this case, EL ZALATE is a small city in Sinaloa (from what I was told) So everyone makes these fruit concoctions differently. Second, the names to half of their desserts don't describe what you're ordering or what they have but THANKFULLY this small spot has large colorful posters all over their restaurant for you to get a visual of what you're ordering and what's in it. You can always ask them what's exactly in them, and they don't mind leaving things out if you ask. Lastly, the place is perfect for kids and families to enjoy an evening or after school snack. It's always clean, the employees are very polite and willing to explain all of their items on the Menu. They've been pretty spot-on with the things they advise (say you don't like peanuts, chile, or a specific fruit) but it's definitely not your typical ice cream spot. This is a place that will hook it up and there's definitely something on the Menu for everyone. My husband and I tried their juices and they were too sweet for our liking for being freshly made... Hibiscus [Jamaica] juice and Horchata. Lots of places in the valley that make them differently; heck, if you go next door to the Pupusa restaurant and try THEIR Salvadoran Horchata, you'll see what a HUGE difference there is considering it's from a completely different country.I highly recommend this to everyone and anyone with a sweet tooth wanting to try something different than your typical ice cream and yogurt spot. Sitting area is big enough for small groups. In a sketchy neighborhood but trust me, there's plenty of traffic in the area, you should be okay. We got out of the bike trail headed to the University of Phoenix stadium to get a quick refresher and were sold on the first visit. Authentic Mexican desserts, snacks, and everything in between.

Best raspados in town! Place is always clean and inviting. I'm addicted to the lemon raspados, the fresas con crema, and the tosti-cheviche!

Love that this is so close to church so I can get my Mango Loco fix that much quicker. The place is very clean and has several tables to accommodate customers. It's super helpful that they have posters of the various menu items so you can have an idea of what you're getting. BONUS: They carry Thrifty's ice cream!! Yippee!

I'm almost reluctant to post this review because I want to keep this place all to myself. I've been here a few times and their raspados with ice cream (obispo) are top notch. The leche quemada obispo with butter pecan ice cream is the best. Tamarindo raspado with vanilla ice cream is also amazing.

The cashier was very rude and unprofessional, and she did not greet us at all. She had an attitude the whole time while I was trying to order. Makes me not want to go over there again. Food was good, cashier was rude.

The girls/women that work here are highly unprofessional and greatly lack class and respect. I either get dirty looks by the employees, for simply no reason at all (I'm assuming jealousy or insecurities on their behalf), or they make my husband uncomfortable by their desperation for attention. It's embarrassing to see a young woman try to flirt with my husband as I sit at a table and wait for him to order for us. He is made to feel uncomfortable as he has to try to ignore this young lady's behavior. Won't be coming here again nor would I suggest this place to anyone due to the lack of professionalism and respect.
