When it's over 45 minutes to get a table for four but all I have to say is it was so worth the wait. Who would have known that Chicago had this hidden gem.Ordered:*Fried Chicken Nuggets -KarAge-*Sashimi Carpaccio*Original Tonkotsu*Spicy roasted garlic ramenHonestly the food was really tasty. Expect a wait because its definitely a tasty spot. Service was really good. The place is clean with a modern vibe. If I went back to Chicago right now or even in the future, this is one of those spots that I would definitely come back to. This Yelper gives it two thumbs up. You gotta trust my recommendation on this one. I brought my two kids and there was no issues.Tips:*Dim lighting inside. *indoor seating only. *Offers alcohol. *Street parking. *Restroom for customers only.* Closed Monday* First come first serve only and at most can comfortably Seat 8 to 10 people. * No delivery on online orders only for pick up* You can also purchase gift cards

I was excited to try Ramen Wasabi because their website listed having tsukemen (dipping ramen) on their menu, and restaurant looked very cute. I went alone and was seated at the bar. When I got there and asked about it, I was basically scoffed at and was told it hasn't been on the menu for a long time and only offered as a special. Now how am I supposed to know that, as a first time visitor, with only the website to reference??? I told the server that I was bummed and that I was excited for the tsukemen, since it's hard to find in America, and she just coldly reminded it was only a special menu item. Maybe I couldn't hide my disappointment about the restaurant not having what I came for, but I ended up ordering the Hakata Ramen - which was really delicious! The menma & egg were seasoned perfectly. The food, however, became less appetizing after I was given poor service. To contextualize, while I was eating, I was seated next to another woman, whose food came out the same time as mine. But for some reason, staff completely ignored me and only asked her how she was doing, and only refilled her glass of water. The staff even slammed the bottle of water in front of me on the counter. It made me think, maybe the staff I had spoken to tipped me off to every one else on that shift.I'm really bummed about this experience and a Japanese-owned restaurant that seems to have left behind Japanese hospitality (おもてなし) in Japan.

Throughout my past few years in Chicago, I have visited Ramen Wasabi multiple times and can confidently say that it is one of my favorite ramen shops in the city. The restaurant is a cute little spot on a somewhat quieter part of Milwaukee Ave. Sometimes there's a long wait, but I'd say it's worth it. Out of everything I've had here, my top recommendations are the chicken karaage and the Sapporo Miso ramen. The chicken karaage is freshly fried with a crisp exterior and a juicy inside. Make sure to squeeze some lemon juice onto it! The Sapporo Miso ramen is literal perfection on a chilly day. The broth screams of comfort (this is my best attempt at describing it) and the noodles have an excellent springy texture to it. Their ramen eggs are actually perfect in every single bowl of ramen.Other items I've had that I enjoyed are the Original Tonkotsu ramen, the Hakata Classic ramen, and the Tsukemen. Every bowl of ramen they make is fantastic! If there's anything I would suggest skipping, it would be the pork belly buns. Although they are still delicious, I think it's better to enjoy the pork belly in a bowl of ramen instead of in a bao bun.The restaurant always feels lively and is well-decorated. The prices are typical of ramen in Chicago at around $15-20 per bowl if I recall correctly. For the quality of ramen I'm getting, I'd say it's worth it! Service is also solid every time, so I have no complaints there.Food: 4.75/5Service: 4.25/5Price: 4/5Ambiance: 4.5/5Overall: 4.5/5

A solid ramen spot! The broth is rich and garlicky. I like asking for a side of chili oil to add spice to my ramen. The noodles were good though not as good and thick as i remember the first time and the pork was greasy instead of melt in your mouth soft. I'll come back a third time. First time was incredible, 2nd time was okay. Service was great, no complaints there. Parking can be a little difficult but nor impossible depending on time of day.

Super cute spot! No reservations, I came at 9:15 on a Wednesday and sat no problem! I can't believe how fast the service is here. Our appetizer was brought out in seconds and main was brought out in minutes. We got the Brussels to start. These were great! Soooo crispy and it had a special sauce that was amazing. For my main I got the garlic miso ramen. This was so good! Not too salty or too oily, just perfect! So much flavor! Only thing is it could have been a bit spicier for me, but I like things really spicy! Can't wait to come back!

Recently visited Ramen Wasabi and it did not disappoint! Overall the menu has good options for smaller and larger plates, which are all reasonably priced. Our food was brought out one by one as it was ready which ensured that it was still fresh and steaming hot. The restaurant is located on a corner in a smallish space but each table felt like it had its own area and was separated enough from neighboring tables. The music choice set a good vibe as well. My only complaint is that we felt a little rushed to leave the restaurant, since some employees were speaking and whiling down tables while we were still eating and settling the bill. However this wasn't much of a bother to me I still had a good experience.

I got the Hakata Red Ramen and thought it was pretty good. People are nuts for saying this is the "best ramen they've ever had", but it was good. My critiques and why I give them a 4/5 is the stinginess. I've never been to a ramen place that charged you extra to make the dish spicier. I love my spicy food, but i'm not going to pay extra for it when every other place i've been to keeps chili powder or chili oil on the tables to adjust it to your liking.I also paid for the $2 "butter + corn" and i swear to god they give you like 10 kernels in a little container you'd put ketchup in. the butter slice was also the skinniest little sliver of butter. was definitely a rip off.now for the dish, i thought the broth was rich and tasty. i would personally give the spiciness level a 2.5/10. the noodles were great though! i came here on a saturday night and the wait was an hour and a half. the parking is absolutely horrendous and i drove around for like 20 minutes before i found a spot on Maplewood and Fullerton. I would recommend going to those cross streets first since i found quite a few spots on that main road, then i walked through the neighborhood next to the restaurant. the parking i found on those cross streets was free btw. i would come back if parking wasn't so stressful.

Best Ramen I have ever had, by far. The bone broth and the pork belly are oh so tasty! The marinated bamboo shoots - frign A+ addition to this ramen. Will definitely be returning for more. Service was great, such good vibes here - specifically from Alexander! Also love how open the place is, it's very bright, lots of window seats with really comfy booths. Parking was easy, we got a spot right outside. My sister and I came here right at 3 and Alexander politely let us know that their last call is 3:10, because they close at 3:30 - which is very reasonable and we were thankful they served us. We did witness a customer coming in 3 minutes before 3:30 who caused a scene and banged on the window because she missed last call - wild move lol. Lunch and a show!

This is the best ramen I've had in Chicago. I had the Spicy Garlic Miso Ramen with the Kakuni pork and it was a good balance of spice, umami, and garlic flavor. The Kakuni pork brought the ramen to the next level. I think it cost extra but it's worth it because it was tender and it packed so much flavor. For appetizers, I had the Pork Belly Bun and Takoyaki. Both were amazing and I would recommend! The workers were nice and attentive and we got our food pretty quickly.
