This is my first time in Chicago, went walking around by my Airbnb and found this gem!! The food is SO delicious and flavorful. I also loved the space + ambiance. And our server was super helpful and easy to chat to. Gave some great insight into the menu. Will be definitely recommending it to any friends who visit Chicago.

We came here cause the pictures looked good. The staff was friendly, nothing to stand out but meets expectations. The inside was a pretty cool vibe. The booths were nice. The food flavors were decent. We ordered a ginger dressing salad, 2 ramens and hot donuts. The salad was good, the donuts were okay (kinda like fair food - not bad) and the ramen broth was amazing. The issue in this lies in the noodles. They use Sun Noodles, I am familiar with the brand, the broth comes out pretty hot but the noodles are so undercooked that they stay congealed together. This picture that was added was at the end of our meal. My partner couldn't finish because it was not great taking bites of chunks like that. And it wasn't a unique problem, this was an issue with my ramen as well. I'm all for al dente but these did not seem cooked. Might try this place again but I'll have to say to cook the noods a bit extra, so for right now I'm giving it a 3/5Edit: My partner said the noodles may have been like that because they were made earlier (maybe used old noodles) so they stuck together. Either way, broth was great, the noodles were not.

Food: just okay. Broth had good chicken flavor, but this bowl of ramen did not blow me away. The sesame chili oil is a must to add some flavor. Service: good service! Very friendly and knowledgeable waiter. Timely service. Ambiance: love the vibes of the restaurant. Very trendy and cute interior

Love the decor at this location. My friends and I came on a Friday night. We ordered crab ragoons and chicken kaarage nugs to start. Both delish. The nuggets were very crispy and crunchy. For ramen I ordered the 10 hour tonkotsu with corn and spicy added to it. Pretty solid ramen. Great to pair with a cold beer. Service was excellent and food came out quick.

Highly recommend their karage chicken. It was huge and crispy and perfectly seasoned. Visit them during the lucky hour 3-6pm on a weekday to enjoy the karage for $6! They also have limited edition ramen, and it was the smoked brisket ramen, which made me make a trip there. The smoked brisket was smoky and tender. However, the broth could be better as it's a bit too salty with strong soy sauce taste.

This location is really cute inside! I ordered the 10 hour tonkotsu and it was good, but not anything special. I would come back if someone wanted to but I think there are better ramen spots in Chicago

I love this place so much! The food is delicious down to the drinks, desserts, and appetizers. The vibe is beautiful, it's nice, dim, overall a very hip place that plays the best music and the service is always amazing. Such a go to establishment for me, straight 10/10

I've visited Ramen-San on Hubbard a handful of times and it's been great each time. The fried chicken ramen is delicious, it has a great spice and flavor and doesn't need any additions. The service has been consistent each time, even when they are busy. This time we tried the edamame hummus which had a pretty mild and unique flavor, I'm glad we tried it but not sure I would get it again. And then for dessert we got the hot donut balls which were perfectly fluffy and came with a miso caramel type dipping sauce - so good!! Vibes are so good for a cozy night, girls night, or even date night. They play music and it's a darker ambiance.Definitely recommend!

If you haven't tried Ramen San yet it's a must GO!The restaurant is super trendy with a great ambiance. Parking was relatively easy to find which is great and the ramen is a flavor BOMB. I went with a girlfriend and we started off with the chicken Karaage nuggets which were perfectly crispy and juicy on the inside! It came with some lime and kosho aioli which was **chef kiss**We also got the pandan caipirinha which was STRONG. Maybe too strong for my liking haha I couldn't taste the pandan as much but it was still decent! For ramen, my friend and I both got the 10 hour Tonkotsu and it tasted amazing! I recommend adding extra fried garlic and chili oil on it for an extra kick! Lastly, we got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream for dessert which was amazing! I was basically licking the bowl clean.Service was great and so is my overall experience. Wish I dropped by during restaurant week but next time for sure!

The place looks the part, has great service but the food has me unsatisfied.Walking in you're greeted with modern decor with some 90s hip hop music playing. There are some cool comic book style menus and immediately you think to yourself "some thought went into designing the hip aesthetic here".No problems getting a seat on Monday evening. Parking was a bit confusing because the Chicago parking signs are all bent everywhere so not sure if you have to pay to park or not. We decided to pay for the street parking to avoid any parking tickets but looking back at it we think it's residential and free to park on Halsted near the restaurant. Do your due diligence.Out waitresses was nice attentive and knew her stuff. My friend avoids dairy and she helped us pick around that. We each had a cocktail. I had the ume old fashioned, my friend had the yuzu margarita. Both were tasty with a Japanese twist at $12 a pop it was a nicely crafted drink. I'd come back for a cocktail...For appetizer we had the chicken kaarage nuggets, which I would avoid the second time. They were super dry, overly battered (very crispy) and weird sesame seeds in batter gave it a favor I was not a fan of. These aren't the typical juicy and moist lightly battered chicken thigh nuggets I crave when dining at ramen spots. For the entree I got the 10 hour tonkotsu which I thought was lacking in depth of flavor. They don't really have any spicy options for the tonkotsu so you have to rely on spicy chili oil that is extra add on. The broth just didn't have the same umami flavors I expect from a slow cooked broth that is Japanese ramen. It came with pork belly that was overly dry, lacking fat and weirdly seasoned. Ideally I like a nice fat belly that melts in your mouth but is charred on outside using a torch to give it char. This was more of a dry pork chashu that you have to chew and chew. Just not my type. Our bill came with a 3% restaurant surcharge. I don't understand why restaurants still do this... Ps. Be careful this place is a lettuce entertain you spot. Somehow they think it's ok to charge for every little addition and add surcharges. Little additions add up...
