After years of imprisonment forced upon me by my enemies, I woke from another sleepless day and tumultuous night. A hunger within, I craved even the island cuisine of Le Chateau d'if off Marseilles. Truly the prayers and blessings of Abbe Faria helped me stomach the worst of Monsieur Armand Dorleac's offerings. Even the worst ones, which happened upon my birthdays. My faith in place and my constitution being all that I had to lose by not eating, I stepped within the realm of "Ramen Hood" with an empty stomach, an eager mind and open heart. My spirit rose for the counter man was kind and made polite speech with me. There wasn't anyone else there, so I was sadly reminded of my times with lost friend and mentor, Abbe Faria. Who had spent years in the cell adjacent to mine where we often had talked quietly, just as the young man spoke with me now.. I think that he sensed I hadn't had a meal for a while so he left me to relax with refreshment. The monsoon weather was here and the weather was cool enough for Far Eastern cuisine, which I know very much about. My bowl arrived quickly and implements were provided. Although I am accustomed to eating with my hands, frowned upon in modern times, I accepted. It looked amazing. At Chateau d'if, nothing ever looked this well. I hadn't eaten in what felt like days (23 hours, IRL) so this bowl only took about 5 minutes to consume in total. The marinated egg, although added in cold to the hot broth, was far better than the pigeon eggs we were fed at Le Chateau d'if. Although the murkiness of the porcine tonkatsu broth was correct it wasn't terribly flavorful. The xa xiu pork was fatty, something that I am also quite unused to. But it wasn't dry, just a little unflavored. The broth was neither salted nor hot, which at Le Chateau d'if we never received anything warmer than a bloody boxing of the ears! So I was grateful for the warm soup. The carrots were uncooked, far better than the carrot tops that we received from my former house of incarceration. I noticed that the green onions weren't completely cut through, which reminded me of the first dull knife I had used and then broke, mining my way slowly and gently out of my prison cell. These far eastern noodles were al dente, as Abbe Faria would describe them. Italia received this gift during the Silk traders ' wars, the gift of noodle and pasta. We never received pasta of flour and egg within my former home of rehabilitation. And as a former sailor, I thoroughly enjoyed the "naruto" as they called it! Sweet, salty and egg like in consistency it was a fun texture that I had never sampled before. Must be a more modern day staple, with the odd red color hmmm. Since there were no other patrons here on a Friday night, I felt blessed by Abbe Faria, who taught me how to read and write, and say prayers over food as well as to be thankful for every meal. The bright pictures they had upon the wall were far more artistic than the scratches upon my stone bricks of my cell walls. They paled in comparison to the harem I had seen off the coast of Turkey, rumoured to be modeled after the Imperial Harem of the Ottomans. The carpentry resembled the artisans of the Japans, and brought back fond memories of the many geisha who entertained my heart, cultured my soul and enriched my mind, many years ago. I cleaned my own area, thanked the host and went on my way. I have had better Far Eastern pasta in both the Americas and the Japans, even in Europa and even once in the Australian wild. But I was thankful for being fed, once again. Ramen Hood was a full star better than Le Chateau d'if and I hope others who sample this fare are treated as kindly as the host treated me. We are always in a hurry to be happy,... for when we have suffered a long time, we have great difficulty in believing in good fortune.Your Servant,Edmon Dantes

We just came back from Japan and like how the set up here reminds us of the restaurants there, they have individual booths to eat and a self-order kiosk that allows customization. The quantity of the food given and the large amount of generous toppings made us really happy, char siu was tender. I personally like the noodles even if predone, very egg noodle like to me. I would have to agree with the others though in that the broth is not the best, but decent. Overall, a great pic for when you're especially hungry C:

I enjoyed this ramen my son and I both did a custom. The spicy miso broth was not my favorite to be honest but still edible just a different taste. I got the teriyaki chicken. Which was good but after eating realized I didn't enjoy it with my ramen and should have done pork. Everything else in my ramen was delicious. My son did similarly but got the pork and loved it. The guyozas I did enjoy we got 6 and they were delicious. Overall I did enjoy my experienc e

I was excited to try the food here a friend of mine recommended. I try Ramen Hood. I was disappointed when I first walked in. There were a lot of dirty dishes, and the way the ordering system is set up. It was hard to figure out the menu. The food was not as fresh as I expected. The service was average. I would probably not recommend this to a friend.

I was so hungry & this place smelled so good. When you enter, you're greeted by the general menu on a wall & then you have the kiosks to generate your order & then go to checkout. I wish they had the description of what the broths were on the wall or the order kiosk. Pretty sure I guessed on the broth. No veggies. Gluten free noodles. Pork for protein. Gyoza for my friend. Order to go & off I went. I appreciated the broth was separate from the noodles. I think it's a gluten free thing but the noodles were pretty much one lump of noodles. I'm glad I don't live far from this place to get this to go. The broth was pretty good & I probably should have kept the broth separate. I didn't enjoy the noodles. I was disappointed the protein portion was so small. The gyoza was very disappointing as it is clearly burnt or if you want to view it another way, very crisp. Ignoring the bottom portion of the gyoza, they were very small portions but the stuffing was pretty good. Overall, not somewhere I'd come back but I can see the potential for the draw. It's simply not for me.

We were out running errands and dropped in for lunch. Limited menu so we got one of each regular ramen and one spicy. Both had very good flavor. Mine was temperature hot great but my wife could have been hotter. The staff was very nice. Where they cook was clean. Where you eat was dirty. Tables not cleaned Booth old and torn. Walls dirty and need paint. Clearly owner is lazy to clean up the place

I gave this restaurant only 1 star. While it was clean, the ramen was tasteless and the ordering process was complicated. I would have preferred to order with a person who could explain the menu to me, as it was my first time in a ramen restaurant and I needed more guidance.

If you check out my profile you'll see I try to abstain from leaving negative reviews. I was REALLY disappointed with Ramen Hood. For those of you who understand ANYTHING about this original Japanese dish - I wouldn't return. Positive things first. The service was great. The boys were positive and helpful. The food came out quickly and in general, the individual toppings were of really good quality. Bamboo shoots, spring onions, corn and even the marinated eggs. I was really disappointed about the broth. I ordered tonkotsu. It had like 0 flavor. It wasn't even a little salty. The chashu pork was not marinated. And even though it was super tender, it lacked any kind of seasoning, including the tiniest amount of salt. And then - the noodles. They, of course, made the beginner mistake of putting cold precooked noodles into the broth so my ramen wasn't served at nearly the temperature it should be. I could forgive them that but then the consistency of noodles - it's not that they weren't somewhat chewy. I've tasted FLOUR while chewing them. Honestly, I forced myself to eat more than I wanted. And I truly looked forward to a nice bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen. The ambient and/or concept is what it is. They make you create your own ramen on a computer. And while you can order a couple of "chef creations" I was sad to not have found any of the typical ones (like garlic tonkotsu ramen etc.). You can compose them on your own, but unless you are a ramen expert it'll be tough to create a really good ramen. You'll just end up with some type of a DIY noodle soup. And for those of you/us who know a thing or three about ramen - I am so disappointed. Otherwise the place was clean. This does not deserve three stars. Sorry. :(
