I came here after visiting another brewery in Raleigh that I didn't care for all that much. The bartender was nice, but she seemed to be the only one working there on a Friday night.I tried a flight, but the absolute highlight was the Imperial Seven Saturdays. Citra hops usually work really well anyway. It had a nice punch with a nice mouthfeel that faded quickly enough. I've only lived in Raleigh for 3 months, but this had quickly become one of my favorites in the Triangle. The Old as New Pale Ale was really disappointing though. They also have a Dark and Stormy beer and if you enjoy the cocktail, you will love this beer with the lime and ginger flavors/They seem to have a lot of events like yoga, running clubs, and so on. On a sidenote, I appreciate there were no political or sexual statements like some other breweries feature.

R&D is an awesome and chill spot to meet friends, watch a Hurricanes game, or take a complimentary Pure Barre/yoga class every once in a while! Although they do not offer food, we have enjoyed their local food truck choices in the past (apparently the food truck scene has not been super reliable in their partnerships with R&D so timing may vary). They do not have a very vast menu, but they have a sufficient choice of light beers and ciders that we like. Location could be better - it is not walkable to the rest of downtown.

TBD on the opening of the taproom, I wasn't able to find any additional details on that. R&D has been brewing beer for a while now, I really like their Seven Saturdays IPA. Storm Brew is popular for tailgating and game days with the Carolina Hurricanes. I'm not huge on lagers or beers below 5% so I can't comment but it is a great option for fans. I hope that they open their taproom soon, I can't wait to visit.
