I haven't tried the tea from this shop, however my experience shopping at the store tells me that the tea is not of a good quality, not fresh and doesn't come from reputable estates or suppliers.I asked where exactly their teas come from but didn't get a definitive answer - from all sorts of places. I asked if they carried Single Estate teas, they told me 'No'. I turn around and saw right in front of me a package that had a single estate assam tea written on it. So the staff doesn't know much about their own teas - origin, quality, harvest timing, how old, etc. There are no dates on packages - no harvest date, no expiration date. Tea is perishable. Just like for any herb, it's quality reduces with time, especially if not stored in a vacuum sealed package. After one year its no good really, if powdered - after 3 months.I hope such details will be taken into consideration.

This is a cute little tea shop right down the block from the tea room. It didnt carry a few of the teas that we tasted at the tea room & that was a bummer. We all loved the indian chai so much we wanted to purchase & its actually a blend of things & the shipment was delayed. Boo hoo. Oh well. I was able to purchase the cutest tea cup ever for $20. We were able to borrow fascinators for an adorable photo op. I think the shop is the cutest, quaint little place ever!

I'm very grateful for this little shop. My daughter loves to visit Queen Mary's tea room whenever we visit Seattle. I made the mistake on our last trip to leave it to go the Monday before we left not knowing the restaurant was closed. Thankfully the emporium was open making up for some of the disappointment of not having the full experience. She loves the selection of toys!

I love this place. Whenever I go, I try to stay as long as possible b/c it makes me feel almost happy. The tea is amazing and is made with love by Mary herself. This place is an amazing gift to the neighborhood.

This cute shop is a great place to check out after you have had your tea party up the street at the Queen Mary Tea Room. This place is located just down the hill about a block. They have their own parking I believe in a lot to the side of the building. We checked it out as they gave us "Queen Dollars" to use toward the shop from our sale at the tea room. The place is super cute and super tiny but it offers all the teas from the Tea room and lots of cute little items for the home or nice gifts. The Prices are high for everything. You can tell they hand select very specific things to go with the theme of "Queen" and Alice in Wonderland. Basically everything you see being used at the Tea room, you can buy there at the emporium. Like the aprons, feather pen, tea, and serving ware. We chose to buy the Alice in Wonderland tea. It's very good! The service was very good. They were attentive even though I think they were having a company meeting in the back. They showed us all sorts of cute things. They have tea in all sorts of sizes to take home. They had tea samples and little cookie treats. The "drink me" and "eat me" signs were a cute touch. They have a dove that is free to be out of it's cage at the store and although it's cute to have a pet at a retail store I am not a fan of having a bird around tea and the retail environment. But that's just me and having issues with sanitation and such.

If you are a tea fan, put this on your list of shops to visit. This is the most whimsical tea store in Washington I've seen! I actually didn't realize this location existed. I had stopped in to the Queen Mary Tea room for a look and was told the shop was just down the street. The tea room itself was seasonally themed and so incredibly cozy. Make a reservation there though! The emporium has a nice patio if you'd like to sip some tea there as well.

Love the Emporium! Great selection of tea, so many lovely teacups it's hard to choose just one, super cute greeting cards and so much else! Online ordering with curbside pickup is very helpful.. You can even get a hot cup of tea to go now. An awesome compliment to the special Tearoom!

I have been purchasing tea online from the Emporium for several years. Recently, I received a bag of tea that didn't taste like I expected it to n(I'd ordered it before). When I emailed and mentioned that I'd be in town soon, they were prompt to reply and said to bring the bag. When I got there they let me exchange it really easily and when I was unsure, even made me a cup of the new tea to make sure I'd like what I was swapping for.Excellent customer service and wonderful selection of teas. I highly recommend this shop and will absolutely be purchasing from them again.
