Quarterdeck Restaurant & Bar

Great restaurant with the marina outside. We started with 2 cups of Clam Chowder! Then we had Crab Cakes. Fantastic with a little lemon and slaw and the aïoli sauce. Now the Salmon what can I say with a sauce on the salmon it's to die for! The veggies are also cooked perfectly and the Mashed potatoes with garlic is executed perfectly as well! Our server was Steven and he was very happy to help us and checked back to see if we needed anything! 100%! This is a must inside the Bay club and Marina Hotel on Shelter Island!

The bar looked like it was packed with locals/friends who all knew each other.The restaurant however was a whole different story. No hostess, so we just kinda wandered into the table area and waited for someone to notice us. That didn't happen for a very long time. There appeared to be one waitress and one runner on staff for Friday dinner service. Not sure if that's the norm, but the overall pace was slow and our orders were wrong. The food is mostly frozen/sous vide style. The salads seemed to be from bags and the dessert was akin to the prepackaged variety you get at a drive thru.The one bright spot was the view. The restaurant is actually on the marina side of the hotel lobby, so half the tables are against the glass wall, overlooking the yachts.

Food is great but Dane is the best. He's so friendly and funny. He made our visit very pleasant.

Made the reservations thru open table. Didn't realize that the restaurant was in a hotel. The food was okay but the view was nice.

Views of the Marina Food/wine/beerCon: Food (vegetarian/Vegan options) Our initial serverADA: most areas accessible, didn't use facilitiesSo, in all fairness to our server, it was a large party. However, if I'm a server(never was but worked BOH/FOH), I would have made sure I had support.That being said, Cambria was a server for other guests, and this girl was hustling back and forth! I had to stop her and call her out for that as she had guests outside and in.Dre(yes, her name), as soon as she came on, jumped in along with her shadow and helped out with all the orders coming from the kitchen for our party.The ladies here definitely run this show from what I saw, and if/when we come back, I'll be sure to ask for one of those two!The food was par/good, nothing amazing to truly talk about, say the eggplant burger, which was a twist compared to other meatless options. Again, though, their beer/wine list was worth it.I do recommend Quaterdeck for your afternoon maritime snack or a nice pint to enjoy the day!

We got here, and the bartender left without taking our order. And she never came back. We've been here 10-15 minutes ago. The host and hostess kept saying someone would b right with us, but no one ever did come behind the bar. Then the host and hostess started laughing at us for asking the front desk how to get a bartender, and for still waiting for one and waiting for one and getting frustrated...Horrible customer service.

I loved this place! I brought my mother out for brunch and unlimited champagne and mimosas. Their mothers day brunch had nice sized shrimp and overall I enjoyed the food. The view was very nice and calm.My server/bartender was great! He made some good suggestions on drinks and was tentative to when I needed more drinks! I'll Def try to come here for their happy hour!

Quarterdeck Restaurant & Bar is located inside the Bay Club Hotel and Marina.  There is a good-sized bar with seating on both sides.   The dining room features a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the marina.  There is also patio seating near the pool area also overlooking the marina.  We were very impressed with Quarterdeck.We stopped by the bar to cash in our free drink tickets.  Becky ordered an Irish coffee, while I opted for a Modelo.  Service was friendly and prompt.Later in the evening Becky was all settled in the room, but I was hungry and had a craving for clam chowder.I returned to Quarterdeck and grabbed a seat at the bar.  Already at the bar were some fellow hotel guests, who by all appearances, had been there awhile.  They were laughing it up and having a good 'ol time.  Dave was our bartender and this guy was great!  We were all laughing and having a great time at the bar.I ordered a Modelo and a cup of clam chowder.  I love a good clam chowder and this version did not disappoint.  It was a traditional chowder, thick and creamy.  Plenty of clams and potatoes.  Really good.If you stay at the Bay Club Hotel or hell, even if you just happen by, stop in and see Dave at Quarterdeck.You will not be disappointed!

This place was fantastic. Best kept secret in San Diego until this review. Claire was my waitress and she was very attentive and super friendly. The place is beautiful, facing a beautiful marina. The happy hour menu was so amazing. You've got to try the chicken wings and don't forget beer. I've tried about seven happy hours this trip, and this I would rate as the best! Go see what you think.

What an incredible view! Great waiter! the food was good! we had burgers fries kabobs even the kids ate their burgers ! the carrotcake was yummy! this is a hidden gem! What a view! I'll be returning soon!
