Here's what I tried and my thoughts:Carnitas Fries: My favorite starter so far. The carnitas themselves weren't flavorful and a bit dry, but were well-complemented by the combination of crispy French fries, a blend of melted Mexican cheeses, homemade salsa fresca, organic pickled onions, guacamole, and a finishing touch of chipotle aioli. They carried the barely decent meat, I'd sub for chicken or something else next time. Avocado Fries: Underwhelming due to unseasoned breading.Simply Grilled Shrimp Taco: My favorite taco, offering a perfect balance of flavors.California Burrito with Modifications: Grilled steak with substituted rice for fries and added chipotle--flavorful and satisfying. Rice wasn't overused which made for a balanced bite.Baja Fish Tacos: Decent overall; shines with the right salsa.Philly Taco: Tender steak but lacked flavor; poorly seasoned peppers.Veggie Taco: Surprisingly tasty, would reorder.Pastor Taco: The meat was dry and lacked flavor, needing a boost from its accompaniments.Expenses: 1/1The Baja tacos are the best bang for your buck at 2 for $5. The rest of the tacos are about 5 each. The Avocado Fries are ~$9. Carnitas fries and California burrito are ~$12 (each). The pricing is pretty standard and fair once you find a taco you like. Location: 1/1Set in a convenient location with both indoor and outdoor seating with a fun atmosphere, staffed by friendly personnel, and free street parking nearby. Parking is more of a hit or miss depending on time/day but haven't struggled too bad yet. Accept debit and apple pay. Possibility of a Future Visit & Recommendation: 1/1While not all dishes hit the mark, the highs, such as the Simply Grilled Shrimp Taco, make Pure Taco worth a return visit. The inventive takes on traditional flavors promise potential delights in future explorations of the menu. I'm also a bit biased now because something special with someone I hold very dear to me happened here so I'll always cherish returning. Always looking forward to my next visit!

Came to Pure Taco last year and loved it (was served by one of the friendliest and most helpful bartenders ever, who made great suggestions!), so was excited to try it again. Tacos and Margaritas after a beach walk hit the spot! You have two options for ordering: 1) sit at the bar for full service or 2) order and pay at the counter, find a table, and they bring your food to you. You can order additional food via a QR code. Unfortunately this visit wasn't as good as my last. The main reasons included the girl taking our order wasn't helpful, our food arrived cold, and our Margarita tasted like sour juice without alcohol.Previously the nachos were delicious.This time they were cold with very little cheese. Our favorite tacos were the Green Curry Shrimp, the Pho Beef, the Philly, and the Pastor.The bar area has seating both inside and outside. There are several other tables outside. There is one bathroom.

This taco restaurant has lots of Al fresco dining with a large patio area and open air style seats in the restaurant. It's a very nice atmosphere. The 4 taco flights are a great way to try multiple gourmet tacos for a reasonable price. The traditional and global taco flights were cooked perfectly. Adventurous eaters should go the international route for flights. Their Margarita was ok. It had lots of orange juice in it so it tasted more like a tequila sunrise. But still tasty. Service is friendly and fast. You order at a counter and they deliver the food at the table.

I wasn't wowed at all by their tacos. There was no line when we were there on a weekend. You order at the counter but the lady serving us wasn't that friendly. I asked about the taco flights as I was thinking of the global flight but she said the traditional is more popular. It was mediocre only, meat was dry. My friend tried the Baja tacos as they were 2 for $5! You can't beat that deal. But I guess you get what you pay for. She said it was a lot of batter and not much fish. I might give it another try and just order other tacos next time. It's got a nice vibe though.

This place is pretty stable, not perfect, but consistent at least. They tend to be one of the less crowded spots on state street and it's a bit in the casual side compared to Nicks, JeJ etc.. The food is fast casual and I love the freshness tied to the burritos and salad. The service is also extremely prompt. This bar tends to have open seats, so it's a perfect spot to pregame.

Always amazing service/ great atmosphere. All the seasoning is awesome and one of the few restaurants that hasn't started to skimp on quality OR quantity. Always a must to hit up when I'm in Carlsbad!

i just stopped in to try their vegan tofu tacos and they were amazing. Their staff and service are always top notch. Everything there is made fresh which is the main reason I go there. They also have a great vibe there. I highly recommend them.

We were visiting and found this spot. Excellent and affordable tacos. Two Baja Fish Tacos for $5 is a great deal and the quality is excellent. Also enjoyed the chips and guacamole. Our family loved this place.
