Pure Cupcakes

My company ordered Pure Cupcakes for a conference in La Jolla and they were a HUGE hit! Delicious and beautiful cupcakes--they even printed our event logo on each one. Everyone had a different favorite flavor (mine is the Mocha Madness), so there was something for everyone. The owner was wonderful to work with. She took great care to make accommodations for us, since we were ordering from out of town, and even personally delivered the cupcakes to our event. Would 100% order from them again and highly recommend!

I wish they didn't get rid of the PB bomb. That was my favorite. I tried the Earl gray this time which was tasty but very sweet. I had thought it would be a more savory cupcake. The chocolate ones are both good and my kid liked the strawberry. They have a good deal after 6 PM where you buy three cupcakes and get one free. So that is good. I'm still trying to find one I liked as much as the PB bomb!

After having lunch with a friend at an eatery within the Del Mar Highlands Town Center, I strolled over to the northeastern section of the shopping complex to visit PURE Cupcakes. The suite was rather small with only one inside table for seating but a few others located out front on the sidewalk. In the glass display cases adjacent to the service counter were cupcakes stacked on different shelf levels.This was one of the few dessert shops in which I encountered products that were segregated by which days of the week they were sold. Six varieties were only available from Monday to Thursday while nine different types were only available from Friday to Sunday. Ten flavors were made daily and labeled as 'Everyday.' Prices ranged from $4 to $5.25 per cupcake.On the bottom row of the main display cases was four kinds of cupcakes that were priced at 50% off. They were leftovers from the Friday to Sunday inventory so I am sure these cupcakes were past their "best by" date. I picked the following three for my order.* Caramel Cashew - Vanilla bean cake topped with caramel buttercream, chopped cashews and caramel drizzle* Lemon Blueberry - Vanilla cake with fresh blueberries folded into the batter, filled with homemade lemon curd and topped with lemon buttercream* Strawberries Galore - Strawberry cupcake topped with strawberry cream cheese frostingThe double shot of caramel in the buttercream and drizzle made the first cupcake my favorite of the trio. It was a bargain to purchase these weekend leftovers at less than $3 apiece. The size of these treats were standard and not the jumbo type that I have seen elsewhere. I felt that my experience at PURE Cupcakes was at a 4.5 star level.

Pure Cupcakes did a phenomenal job in customizing my daughter's birthday cake!Even though we chose only their smallest personal sized cake (costs less than 20$) and were there the day before the birthday, the staff was very accommodating. We chose a vanilla cake with chocolate frosting and pink drip and pearls. The cake turned out to be exactly what my daughter described as. She was beyond happy! The cake was very rich in taste and the small cake was actually perfect for our family of 4. Thanks Pure Cupcakes for making a special day extra special !

I ordered cupcakes for a party at my house. We had Rolo, Death by Chocolate, lemon raspberry, red velvet, cookies and cream, salted caramel, and German chocolate. Everyone loved their cupcakes! I wish they gave you a break on buying a dozen, but overall it was a good first experience. It was worth the drive. I appreciate the later hours after traffic, too. Service was okay. I'll be a return customer.

The cupcakes are amazing. The frosting to cake ratio is perfect. The flavors are great with offerings to suit about everyone. My husband's favorite is the Irishman, which is most excellent. I am a fan of the Huckster but it is only available on Saturdays. Even better than that is Strawbs which has rhubarb in it, but it is currently off rotation. Even your vegan and GF friends can eat here without sacrificing flavor. I have been known to get the Toasted coconut cake which is topped with vegan vanilla frosting and rolled in toasted coconut not because I am V or GF, but I am on team coconut. They are not cheap, but that is the price to pay for not making them yourself and then eating a whole dozen. Expect to pay close to $5 each (some a little less, other flavors a little more).The new Del Mar location is a bit farther for me to travel than the PB location, but I will make the journey. They used to have punch cards to earn your way to a free cupcake but a recent email indicated that they have a new rewards program - so maybe that means I won't keep losing my punch cards and earn more free cupcakes.

Love love this place. I was introduced to the shop by a friend who loves their raspberry white chocolate cupcakes. I had them at a first birthday party. I ate 3. I couldn't stop! The next week I ventured out to grab my own. Not sure about the menu but I believe they have rotating flavors depending on the day/week. I decided to order a kid's birthday cake from them and cupcakes. They did an awesome job on the design of both!! The taste was great as well. I have not been to their new Delmar location yet but look forward to going back. I know they recently added more menu items so lots of new things to try, but for now I can't wait to have those cupcakes again.

Last night, we noticed that PURE Cupcakes was open and after dinner at Rubio's we walked in and tried a 4-pack of their cupcakes.The store is beautiful and the display of choices is wonderfully designed and they had many options, each cupcake was beautifully created and plainly defined/described so you could understand the choices.We opted for 2 Vietnamese Coffee cupcakes, 1 Lime in the Coconut, and 1 Red Velvet Cupcake, my wife's favorite. The person serving us Ella(?) was wonderfu,l kind, and very attentive.Upon going home, we had to try the cupcake we selected and here is our assessment:In general, the cupcakes and the frostings are not too sweet, not like so many cupcakes that are overly sweet, . . . . so that was perfect. Also, the frosting is also not overly sweet and so enjoyable with each bite.The cupcakes themselves were a little hard and we probably should have put them into the microwave for 10-15 seconds like we did this morning to warm the cake slightly and to help with softening the coldness of the cupcakes. This morning, for breakfast, after being in the microwave for ~ 15 seconds, the cupcakes were perfect!!They don't tell you that when you buy the cupcakes, that they are slightly cold and hard and would be best to leave out for a little warming.But I loved my two cupcakes - the Vietnamese Coffee and the Lime Coconut ones. I would buy them again!! My wife was not so happy with her red velvet because of the hardness/denseness, but that may have been out fault as explained for not waiting to have them get to room temperature or a little time in the microwave. My wife's favorite red velvet treat is from Nothing Bundt Cakes and that is a challenging standard to beat.I'm looking to trying ALL the cupcakes!! GREAT new addition to Carmel Valley and the Plaza!!

First time I went, the cupcake was really fresh and delicious. I love the red velvet with cream cheese frosting. I think it's amazing. I went a second time, and unfortunately, the cupcake was not as fresh tasted like it was old. The cream cheese frosting was a little bit hard on the outside. The cake was still pretty good. Also, the second time there wasn't as much cream cheese frosting on the cupcake was a little disappointing because that's my favorite part. I don't find them overly sweet. I think they're perfect.
