It's quite rare to find an El Salvadorian restaurant in Phoenix, so when I heard about this restaurant I was eagerly awaiting to try it like a child on Christmas morning. And I was not disappointed because this place surpassed my expectations. The food is made fresh upon order, and the staff provides a friendly, inviting atmosphere that you don't find when visiting chain restaurants.I actually went to the new location, Pupusas Dona Mary # 2, on 32nd and just North of Greenway Road. However, they do not have a help page for the new location, so I am shouting my exaltation here.

This was my first visit. The staff is friendly and accomdating, and thats why I feel terriberible having to say the food just wasn't very good.On this visit we ordered beef empanadas, pupusas, and tamales. I was disappointed with the beef empanadas as I was with the tamales, the meat was somewhat dry and slightly overcooked and the tamales had an unappetizing flavor and we just could not eat them. The pupusas, however, were okay. The pricing is very wallet friendly, you can get a better meal, but you'll have a hard time getting more food for the price.

I'm giving this restaurant only 1 star because someone that works at this restaurant should have a little understanding of the English language. it is super frustrating to go to a restaurant that no one speak English and also there are no prices listed. They have a huge menu posted so you can see what you want but HELLO they have put black tape over the prices so even if you wanted to know how much something is good luck. Ive gone here a few times, ordered 4 bean and cheese pupusasa and not one time have I paid the same amount. No hair nets, tiuching the food with no gloves was what I saw the last time I went. I would advise going someplace else.

La comida está entre el promedio, nada extraordinario. En cambio los precios, son tan altos que ni siquiera los ponen en el Menu. Casi $40 por dos desayunos sin bebida?, Wow! Mejor voy a IHOP... No volvería allí muy pronto.
