Cute little spot. Nice courtyard if you need to wait. Tried to make a reservation for 10, but they needed a credit card, which I totally understand, but I didn't feel like leaving my cc info, so I chanced it on a Friday night and we got lucky as it's a small place. Food was great. The Peruvian roll was amazing and unlike anything I've ever had before. My group wasn't too ambitious, sticking to the Mongolian beef and fried rice. All of which were good and generous portions. We all took leftovers home. Friendly service. Only negative was parking, which while being abundant you still have to register with a company to get two hours free, which entails giving a credit card. Why? there's a huge lot! Nonetheless this won't deter me from visiting again.

This is a disappointing review to write, seeing as though I was a fan of Silo.* But this was not good. At all. I took photographic evidence to go along with my review so as to back up my words. Not good. At all.The really unfortunate problematic name of the restaurant should have been enough to out me off from visiting. As it was, I was an early visitor to the spot. I was excited from the Silo connection. But some things should probably stay in the past. Since we were freshly into the 're-opening' period (and because we live in TN), I ordered my food to go. PW is in a small space. I mention that for two reasons: 1.) it's impossible not to notice when someone comes and goes. 2.) people are sort of a$$-to-elbow. I wasn't greeted by a single person when I walked in. No 'hello.' Not even a head nod. I just stood there looking/feeling awkward. And no one (staff/patron) was masked or distanced. This may be a joke here but, you know, pandemic. Death. Lifelong illness. I finally waved someone down and made my way to grab my food at the bar and check out. That experience was perfunctory. No Southern small talk. Just 'here's your food. Pay... and tip.' Fun. I noticed that I paid more than was advertised online but I figured that was due to me getting more food. Each of my dishes came in oversized takeout boxes.I was very wrong. My karaage was a small amount of greasy popcorn chicken. That's a little gracious. I had more than one 'breading bite' -- meaning there wasn't even chicken in the greaseball. No wonderfully crunchy Japanese chicken wings was I to taste. I received a pitiful amount of sloppy chicken bits. Picture uploaded. I'm not lying. My waffle fries** were cold, stuck together and (you guessed it) few in number. But for feeling guilty about throwing away food, I would have tossed it out. Instead I took pictures and vowed to never return. It was right there in the name. I knew better. To end on a good note, I will say that Sylvan Supply is gorgeous. Sylvan Heights may be a made-up thing but it shoor is purty. Nicely done, developers.*For the n00bs, Silo was a Germantown staple that helped put Nashville's food scene on the map in the heyday of the current population/tourism boom.** The reason this is a '2' and not a '1.' Ordering this was my fault... although a restaurant shouldn't have an item on the menu that it doesn't execute well.

I didn't get any sushi so I can't comment. I got the House Special Cumin Lamb and it was delicious. Seemed clean, music was just fine. I had a hard time finding it at first as I went to the front and had to go up the stairs and back down to the backside. Service was fine (I was the only one there early and they only stopped once for a drink refill...had to ask for the check as I was waiting).Seemed like cost was a little high on some items I know are cheaper elsewhere. I didn't get it but $12 for 4 dumplings? Even if they are handmade I didn't get it because of the cost. I am sure the rent there isn't cheap so its reflected in the food prices.

To be honest, this is a very average Asian fusion with an incredibly high price point for ambiance. My friend and I were a walk in for dinner, got seated right away. Service was nice and attentive. But the food... the bulgogi fries were probably the best thing we got, but even then, this is not bulgogi. This is like ground beef seasoned with bulgogi sauce and poured over fries. The Thai fried rice has okay flavor but wish it had the Thai kick to it. The cumin lamb noodles were sad. Almost no sauce and no spice, the noodles were dry and limp. Ended up taking it home and adding a bunch of sauce and chili oil to it to revive it. Not a place I'll come back to but I guess and experience nonetheless. At least the kirin was good with the fries!

If you like sushi or don't, this place is for you. They have a wide variety of options. Great shares and awesome fulfilling meals. Service was quick and friendly. Food is served immediately as it's prepared, so it's hot and fresh. Happy hour is from 3-6 daily, currently, and they have a lot of options available for happy hour. Music is very modern, goes with the "punk" vibe. It's perfect for the space. Not too loud or too quiet. Highly recommend!

I got in here for a late lunch and ordered one of the specials of the day. Wish I had known about sushi happy hour, as I would have definitely taken advantage. I put it on my notepad for a revisit during sushi happy hour. I have both in this review.Nice little spot in Sylvan Supply. Medium sized bar with quite a few tables around the side and in the back. I ordered to go to take into Bearded Iris (Black Dynasty was not serving yet). While waiting, the sushi chef pulled out a big slab of fresh tuna to prep. After we talked sushi for a bit, the chef handed me some of the fresh tuna to try. Top knotch. The food did not disappoint that day and I would have given a 4 star rating. Yay!Fast forward a few weeks and sushi happy hour. This is no sushi train or supermarket, but the fish did not bowl me over. I would say more in the 2-3 star rating. I will give the pricing during sushi happy hour a bump (half price on all but three items) and the service was still very good, but the sushi was more on the marginal side that day. I would still say you should try it out and see, as I might just have hit a happy hour faux pas, but I was looking at my plate (picture) saying "did I really order that much?" rather than "so happy I came back". So I am stuck in average territory. Overal, not bad for a landlocked city. If I could repeat the first experience, even more power. I will redo the review if I find I just hit a bad day. Not that average is bad, but people often regard a 3-star review as bad. It's not. Just more OK than great or my favorite. So, the big question is "will I return?" As one who always likes to give a fair shake to restaurants, I will definitely consider a return visit. I really love the atmosphere, presentation of the food, et al, but I will order less up front and add on rather than pile in.

Was joined by my Yelper friend for a happy hour at Punk Wok and it lived up to my high expectations. During happy hour, sushi is half off, so we indulged in 2 rolls. My favorite was the Peruvian roll, topped with a shrimp ceviche and garlic drizzle. It was a tantalizing mix of textures and flavors and unlike other sushi rolls I've tried before. The garlic drizzle stirred up a craving in me for Peruvian chicken... perhaps more to come on that note. Of course, as a fermented vegetable fan girl, I suggested we try the pickled vegetables. The cucumber pickles were the best, but the kimchi could stand on its own. Happy hour gets crowded from 6-7, but when we were seated at 5 there was ample bar seating. The atmosphere was lively without being too loud or crowded and the staff was friendly. I'm definitely adding Punk Wok to my list of favorite happy hour specials!

Front door was elusive.Menu was confusing. No food that could be ordered as a side that wasn't wrapped, bowled or mixed up with a bunch of ingredients.Good people preparing good food; but, just not what I choose to eat.
